Instead of starting a new thread on roster moves we might as well just list them here.

Today we signed DB Tre Flowers and DL Tanoh Kpassagnon. Tanoh was a reliable backup for KC for 8 yrs.

We added WR Jahdae Walker and Ian Wheeler (RB) fron the non performance list

We waivered DB Alex Cook and DL Jereme Robinson.

Also Poles talked to today (did not hear the speech) but said Braxton Jones was ready to go. Can anyone verify that?

Kpassa is in the house.  We’ve reached the point where other teams former backups are not even likely to make our roster. It wasn’t too long ago we were looking at them as starters.

In a backup role he would be a savoy vet if he makes the roster. We are definitly in a totally different place that just 2 yrs ago. This is the year of( show me the wins) for Poles.

Braxton is a full go per Poles.  Open competition on left side per Johnson.

This is such great news. I personally am not a Braxton believer, but i don't want to hear the narrative that he didnt get a chance, and the more competition, the better. If Trapilo and Amagadje play really well and Jones beats them out anyway, then fantastic. Let the best man win. The more competition the better.

I personally think Trapilo will win the job, but I havent really seen Amagadje in any kind of fair way, so let's see who is who under live fire.

Seems odd that there is not more information about that.

Did anyone listen the Grady Jarrett today? A reporter asked him that because of his age if he will start slow and ramp up to the season. (Hell no, its balls to the wall every play and everyday. That's what makes him a good player, never slow down.   (a generalization not word for word)

Yes.  And to Stinger's point; Poles usually doesn't divulge anything unless he has to or wants to.  Respecting his vet's privacy.

And not helping opponents know where to hit you during the season :)

As much as we want more info as fans, I like that the team doesn't officially give out info they don't have to.

I'm wondering if we will see Dexter and/or Turner play some DE.
I wonder if Amagadje will end up depth at OG, or play there in a couple years.
I wonder if Burden will play some HB, and jet sweep slot guy like Coradelle Patterson
I wonder if Kyler Gordon might play some safety

and the Bears have kept a pretty good lid on all those speculations, each of which I've read in various articles. Not saying any or all of them are true, but the Bears sure didnt confirm or deny any of that, so I agree they are being informationally disciplined.

Local beatwriters whining because Poles didnt give more information and only had a 19 minute press conf. David Haugh is the biggest crybaby on the beat.

Most fans and me are concerned about the pass rush and that we do not have enough fire power to be effective. Last year we had 40 sacks, had Billings and Sweat not had injury concerns we would probably had 4 to 8 more.  The two SB teams had 39 and 41 and they obviously made it to the SB. We now have a coach , DA, they is much more agressive in attacking the offense. Just by coaching changes we will have an uptick in sacks. We added Dayo, Jarret, Turner. Sweat and Billings are healthy, we should see progression from Dexter, Booker and Dom Robinson. I think the concern of the DL is a little overblown and we will be fine as long as everyone stays healthy.

Of course I always want more but I think we are okay.

You forgot to mention how those Superbowl teams got their sacks.  Front four.  For us to generate pressure, we had to blitz at a higher rate than the defense was built for.  The result was a regression from the previous year.  Do I see a stronger DL?  Yes.  Do I see it translate to pass rush with the front four?  Maybe.  While I enjoy the optimism, I'm gonna keep it real until I see it.

I have concerns, but until games are played, I'm  hoping it all works out with DA. DA has a history of blitzing SS, NB, LBers, corner blitz, I will have optimism also and dont care if all of it comes from the front 4. What ever it takes to make it work, Im all in on.

I agree with most of this.  Generally, if you can get it from the front four, it makes the rest better.  Until we see it from the front we won't be as effective as it weakens the secondary efforts.

I am so happy that now we get to see what everything done this year looks like on the playing field. Speculation, projections doesnt matter anymore. I think our first preseason game is 3 weeks away. I am overly optimistic on the results of Poles and BJ.

for sure. I think we still need a top notch Edge player, but no roster is ever perfect or complete. We will probably draft that guy next year.

So I guess today the first string offense didnt line up correctly, Johnson told them to do it again and it still wasnt right so he sent all the starters off the field.

We havent had someone like this in a long time. So great to see.

I was worried Johnson wouldnt be enough of a hardass back when i wanted Mike Vrabel. Now I wouldnt trade Johnson for Vrabel for ANYTHING.

So glad to see accountability. Finally.

Definitely balls out for the best edge we can get.  They are ridiculous to pay these days.  Gotta come from the draft!

Taverious Moore was just released after the first practice. Now that's accountability

If he was incorrect or not knowing his assignments then it’sa good message.  If it’s just bottom of the roster churn nobody cares.
