I think the Vikings defense has confused Caleb a lot today. Johnson needs to dial up the right plays and get Caleb's eyes where they need to be. This is a good trial by fire.

I get that the Vikings defense is playing man to man with a spy, and the best way to attack that is with the deep ball, but you gotta move the chains.

And that's on Johnson and the WRs getting open in shorter and intermediate routes too.

Not impressed with the play calls today. Can't have the overthrows either.  The defense is not on their heels at all. Everything seems too predictable. 

Pressured on first 5 of 7 dropbacks, gotta make them pay for that.

Would have been the other way around. 

Bears have to get 3 on this drive.

BJ gets away from the run too often. You are a top 3 running team, get the Vikings on there heals then the pass game should be easier.

 

Or 7!  Passing is exciting but get the those 3 or 4 yrd carries and some points.

He should be run more against this Vikings front. Trying to run wide is not effective, well not at the moment, but could be better later in the game.

I agree. You can tell the defenders want no part in tackling him. 

Byard with the huge INT. Jarrett with the pressure.

Johnson makes great adjustments. Riding the running game was the right thing to do there.

Bears get an easy 3 points, but again, the issues are the play calling and protection. First play, a run was way too predictable. Caleb escapes two more sacks. Gotta get the protection cleaned up.

Ugh.. Missed a huge opportunity to go up two scores with a touchdown after that pick. 

Bears get the ball back to start the half. Cannot allow Minnesota to put up points before then.

Shame we couldn't get it into the end zone from that starting position. Hope it doesn't come back to haunt us.

I can see that, but they were running out of time anyway. If you run and pick it up, its another timeout.

Im not saying youre wrong at all - I can see it both ways.

Hope Johnson gets his s**t  together after half-time. We really need to take advantage of chances with our brutal schedule. If we can take a 17-3 lead, I like that with how the defence is playing. 

I know Caleb has missed several throws, but it has been amazing how he has got away from the rush when the lines protection has been shocking.

I don't like soft zone against Jefferson though. They need to at least bracket him.
