Poll

Listening on the score today they said they have a poll on there website and thought it was very interesting. Not quite like your normal polls. I wanted to see what everyone thought lol.

Who is the WORST Bears QB of all time???

I can really only attest for QB's MacMahon and on...

And I'd say it's a close one between Hutchinson and Stewart. I'll lean on Hutch becasue at least Stewart had some skills that had some success early in his career. There are just so many to choose from! It's kind of sad...

Yeah I know what you mean. Can we just say everyone since Favre entered the league lol.

Ha!

I can't argue that one!

So far out of all the QB's on there website Cade McNown leads the pack at 31%. 27 QB's are on the list. Amazingly enough 2% of the people think that Cutler is the worst even above Moses Moreno and Henry Burris lol.

McNown's right up there for sure!

Did Burris actually play more than one game? Maybe I took it out of my memory bank!

People saying Cutler are Denver fans...

Could be the worst QB ever in the entire friggin' NFL!

Quinn was bad, but there is no words to describe Burris.

He appeared in 6 games in 2002 but only 2, weeks 16 & 17, did he start.

In week 16 he went 8 for 22 (50 yds) comp 36.4% 1 TD no INT QB Rating of 60.0

In week 17 he went 7 for 19 (78 yds) comp 36.8% 0 TD 4 INT and QB Rating of 10.3

Thank God there was no week 18, I shudder to think what he would have accomplished, LOL.

I was going to be the first to say Quinn, but somebody beat me to it. Still, I'll say him or Burris. Burris was brutal.

AGREED!

I have seen some mention Burris, but Burris was never expected to be a starter as best as I recall. He was a backup QB, and a 3rd at that.

Quinn was thought far more of though. He was a former backup, but one behind a solid starter in KC, and one thought to know the system well we were installing after signing Shea to be our OC.

I have simply never seen a worse "deer in the headlights" facial expression after the snap than w/ Quinn. I guess if he has a red jersey on in practice and knows he can't get hit, he can actually look good, but as soon as it is for real, ouch.

It was almost like seeing some kid who was great at Madden try to play for real.

I heard on the SCORE some time back that a former teammate said Quinn's hands shook in the huddle.

Peace :dabears

Man, it would not surpise me if a player said he actually wet himself in the huddle.

I think I need to see a shrink! I have a lot of repressed memories of Bears' QB's of the past!

That's atrocious!

Burris was awful, but I just can't consider him. When I am asked the question, "worst bears QB," I am thinking about starting QBs. A 3rd string QB who played a handful of games due to injury just doesn't qualify IMHO.

Ok guys here's my list in order:

1) John Huarte

2) Henry Burris

3)Kent Nix

4) Gary Huff

5)Larry Rakestraw

6) Rusty Lisch

7) Greg Landry

8)Cade McNown

9) Mike Phipps

10)Turk Schonert

Yes, it has to be the Medicine Woman.

Anyone who says Cade McNown is retarded. He wasn't great, but he produced in a few games and is infinitely better than a few other QBs already named in this thread.

I feel old in my bones, but must not be that old, because I have never heard of half the players on that list.

I still think Quinn has to be in the top 10, and still just question putting Burris on the list at all, much less #2. The guy was a #3 QB who frankly, should have never even played. He was added because he was an athletic QB who the staff hoped they could develop, but due to injuries, was forced onto the field WAY SOONER than planned. He bombed, big time, but I just can't put him on this list.

retarded? No. I agree and would not put Cade on this list, but many fans are going to factor expectations in the question, and I think it would be fair to put Cade up there if you factor expectations.

considering that the vast majority of QB's to don a Bears uniform have been the antithesis of competency. A list of guys that read like a list of who's who for the wall of shame.

it's hard to remove the expectations from consideration since we've been looking for a franchise QB for most of this franchises lifetime. Often when we've drafted a guy high, traded for, or signed as a free agent any potential promising prospect (see also any QB who has yet to fail us = promising) many of whom were "expected" to be the saviour. Some were duds from the get go some showed flashes of competency. Some were good but couldn't stay healthy like Jimmy Mac, Erik Kramer, Jim Miller, Rex Grossman (who turned out to be just as detrimental to the team on the field as he was in rehab).

My memory also only extends back to Jimmy Mac. So many of the guys already mentioned come to mind and I'll also add the exploits of Rick Mirer (sp?), PT Willis, Cade, Will Furer Steve Stenstrom, Noodle arm Mathews, & Krenzel Now some of these guys had some limited success but nothing to get to excited about.
