Undrafted FA's page

Featured Replies

The Bears on Tuesday agreed to terms with 26 undrafted free agents.

The list is highlighted by Ohio State receiver Dane Sanzenbacher, who was named Buckeyes MVP and first-team All-Big Ten last season when he led the conference in receiving yards (948) and touchdown catches (11).

The group includes 13 defensive players: Tackles Corbin Bryant (Northwestern), Jordan Miller (Southern) and Sean Murnane (Central Michigan); end Mario Addison (Troy); linebackers Tanner Antle (Tulsa), Tressor Baptiste (Texas A&M), Dom DeCicco (Pittsburgh) and Deron Minor (McNeese State); cornerbacks Antareis Bryan (Baylor), Mike Holmes (Syracuse) and Ryan Jones (Northwest Missouri State); and safeties Winston Venable (Boise State) and Anthony Walters (Delaware).

In addition to Sanzenbacher, other players on the offensive side of the ball are quarterback Trevor Vittatoe (UTEP); centers J.C. Brignone (Mississippi State) and Alex Linnenkohl (Oregon State); guard Ricky Henry (Nebraska); tackle Josh Davis (Georgia); running back Robert Hughes (Notre Dame); wide receivers, Travis Cobb (Arizona), Kris Adams (UTEP) and Jimmy Young (TCU); and tight ends Kyle Adams (Purdue) and Andre Smith (Virginia Tech).

Punter Spencer Lanning (South Carolina) also agreed to terms.

Same link as prior, Added more.

Yeah, on one site I read he was the sixth rated center. Looks like a good pickup.

I have seen some rate him as the 2nd best center prospect. I think he can make the roster and in two years be the starting center. He by ProFootballWeekly had him a potenial 4 th rounder and starter down the road. With Tice I think that is completely possible.

Alex Linnenkohl (Oregon State); was number 9 center in scouting websites

J.C. Brignone (Mississippi State) was 13, this was out 42 centers scouted.

Quick Synopsis, TE"s Adams is 256 lb catcher, while Smith is 270lb road grader.

WR, Cobb and Adams both Ran 4.37/4.38 respectively, Burners While Young And Sanzenbacher are Route running masters.

Tackle Guards and Centers are Big, I mean big. Meat for Tice to play with.

Overall a good bunch on needed areas. Some may stick but others may have a shot.

nice goal line short yardage back. Love this pick up

Come on. They have Unga, Forte, and Taylor. Hughes won't sniff the Bears final roster.

Besides Linnenkohl, I'd be willing to wager anyone on here that none of these players even make the final roster. It's always fun to see these lists come out every year, but they were UDFA's for a reason. Some players have a body type or some stats that fans fall in love over, but these guys aren't any good. And please, don't show me some small group of 15 UDFA's that are now good NFL players, because I'll show you the 99% that never played a down.

in some ways it's like buying a pack of old football cards at a card show hoping to find a high dollar rookie card. I agree nearly all these guys are not going to be on the final roster, part of the reason we're seeing so many added is the 90 player TC roster over last years 80. Out of these UDFA if we find 2 or 3 that can make the roster with potential to at some point provide solid depth, or even crack the starting lineup like an Alex Linnenkohl or a Dane Sanzenbacher. UDFA doesn't mean they are crap. There are guys who do slip through the cracks that can turn out to be solid players. Maybe not stars. Some players may be very good but just never played on a team with a lot of media exposure so they are less known. That's not to say there aren't an awful lot of these guys who will never play a down because they just aren't good enough to play at the pro level. I actually like that we are signing quite a few of these guys the more you look at the better the odds of finding a keeper or two which is all I think we'll find is maybe one, two, or three that might make the final roster. Mostly these are just warm bodies for camp.

I too love the pick-up. No-one said he would make the team just that it was a nice pick up. No-one is kidding themselves yes the reason that there are so many signings is to up the roster to 90 but UDFA's do make rosters & PS every year & this group have as much chance as anyone.

Theres also a reason we signed so many WR's. Because we apparently aren't going after a big money FA. If we bring in no vet one of these WR's will make the roster as the 5th or 6th guy

I know very little on him...can he play fullback?

Not to disagree with you but if any first year players I would be willing to say might make this roster it would be a defensive player or two besides the the two who have been mentioned(Linnekohl ? and Saz?????) Most of this is contingent on what is done via FA and that will determine who will stick because of the limited time being exposed to the staff. Don't be surprised if some of these guys are added to the PS when it is all said and done.
