  1. I dont know if this matters, call it a conspiracy theory: The Arlington Heights land purchase agreement specifically denies the Bears the ability to build a Casino or Sports Betting, protecting nearby Casinos that already exist, and probably have some political sway. Maybe while Virginia was alive, that concept wasnt even considered, but now, when you look at it, Hammond would allow the bears to do that, and thats a license to print money. So, continuing the conspiracy theory, imagine the Bears decide they WANT Hammond, and the casino, so how do they do that without making fans angry? By having the IL politicians reject them. No traffic study, no listening to lobbyists, not good communication to politicians. What if the Bears end up in Hammond, build a Bearsville, with restaurants, and Bears museums, and of course, a Casino. ANd they get to do it while everyone thinks it wasnt them that wanted it? It may not have been planned that way, pretty slick if it was, but it may end up like that anyway. So either Kevin Warren is a secret genius, incredibly lucky, or this is all a really bad idea. Is casino $ a hidden factor in this?
  2. I dont see how anything Warren has done would help him be Mayor of Chicago. Playing politics (and losing!), being two faced all that stuff it doesnt make him more popular. Honestly that's the first I've heard anyone say Warren wants to be mayor. You say it like it's a fact, at best it's a longshot hot take.
  3. So for what it's worth, the resolution is non binding. This well could be a move to create leverage to force Illinois to do what's necessary to make Arlington heights work. It's a high stakes game of chicken, but the outcome isn't necessarily decided yet.
  4. what a bunch of cheesy puffs
  5. yeah I saw that. what the hell. people are so weird.
  6. Oh I wouldnt put it past them. LOL But it IS easy to see why people might speculate about that, myself included lol
  7. It's just pattern recognition, I think. No one has actual inside info about this of course, but it's easy to see Roush is a great prospect and can catch the ball, to see that Kmet is being paid as a TE1, and he isnt our TE1, and to see how Loveland is doing, and it's hard then not to come to the conclusion that Kmet could be trade bait. Doesnt mean it has to happen, doesnt mean anything, certainly doesnt mean there are any leaks from Halas Hall, it's just the the facts fit a pattern that leans that way. Everyone has thought it at some point I think?
  8. right, the more we wait, the lower the prices drop. GIven that there are at least 3 good free agent options at edge, waiting the market out makes sense. Especially when it's older players that may not wish to attend the entire camp. Gives you some time to see what you have with Booker and Turner first. Also, its possible that we will sign a LT or a DE but not both, so they might wait to see which is needed more once they see what Wills brings for example. I still think theres a decent chance we will sign Tyler Decker. Maybe its between him and Cam Jordan/Von Milller and time will tell.
  9. if you mean next year, finding TE3 who are inline blockers isnt that hard. Kmet is not the only TE in the universe, and Roush will be TE2 then.
  10. exactly.
  11. I wish I had your inside info lol
  12. well his level of play got a LOT better this past season. hes played himself into a role. I still think this is probably his last year with the Bears, given the Roush pick. But we all discussed his progress all during the year last season.
  13. LOL good point I think it's hard to have a trap game when its opening day. And especially with a coach like Johnson. He started 0-2 last year, and Im SURE he is thinking he doesnt want to repeat that! OK Im starting to get excited for the season.
  14. If you play in Indiana, but live in Chicago, I wonder what the tax ramifications would be. On the surface it would seem like since they have to pay state tax to the states their away games are in, that theyd pay Indiana tax. But some of these cities, like NYC can want their taste if you reside there as your main residence. What a freakin mess, and I will leave it here because the next points would probably be political, and best to avoid that.
