  1. Today

  2. I think they will be able to add one top tier prospect inside and at the edge. That will help long term. Probably going to need another CB prospect as well.
  3. I think Roush will be a good player. Fans have been freaking out on him a little too much. That foot in the end zone on the punt sucks but not the end of the world. He is 23 yrs old and played 3 NFL games already. More than a lot of rookies. Haven't heard a peep about Kmet missing a block on Carter and Monangai getting crushed in the back field. Hes a vet and miss timed his position to hit the gap as a pulling blocker.
  4. Dexter wasn't a horrible player while on the team. Just (like Ashkum said) wasn't what they needed in the middle. Of course I'm still not sure they've found their guy just yet. That is unless Van De Berg is THAT guy(?).
  5. Something to keep in mind is that around this time last year—maybe just a little earlier—the team was 0–2. By game three, Ben started working in more zone-rush concepts, which really opened things up for both Swift and Monongai. A week or two after that, he began involving Loveland more. At the time, I remember wondering why they drafted him in the first round if they weren’t going to use him, but then he started to take off too. I think that had more to do with Colston still finding his way than BJ intentionally holding him back. And I see something similar with Rousch now. He’s clearly been struggling, but I have to believe BJ wanted him, believes in him, and is trying to get him more involved. For whatever reason, it just hasn’t quite clicked yet for 87.
  6. He was a reporter full participant in the walk through yesterday so I’m presuming he will be a full today. Hopefully despite all the challenges he will have figured this out and we get back a good football player for the next few years.
  7. Atl fans are happy so far, see how they feel by week 12. Great for Dexter, he just wasnt the type of DT the Bears want (3T)

Can't wait to see him especially with the way Allen is being aggressive on D. Remember Gordon was the versatile chess piece Allen singled out when he first took the job. Malik is starting to show the same traits getting looks inside and outside. Thieneman can do a little of everything. It wasn’t widely talked about but on one CB blitz from the outside not slot Devin Bush left from the middle of the field to replace the CB in coverage. He got there in time which is not something we’d ever see with Edmunds, nor Edwards for that matter. As new players are gaining experience we’re starting to see the vision for this motion defense. I don’t know what to call it but it’s the antithesis of Lovie’s cover 2.
  9. I told myself there is no way that's happening. Then the AI search: "The Atlanta Falcons have signed defensive tackle Gervon Dexter Sr. to a four-year, $78 million contract extension with $46.5 million guaranteed. Dexter, originally a second-round pick for the Chicago Bears, was acquired by Atlanta on August 30, 2026, in exchange for cornerback Clark Phillips III and a 2027 fifth-round draft pick. The deal, agreed to just one month after the trade, makes Dexter the 21st-highest-paid interior defensive lineman in the NFL with an average annual value of $19.5 million. Since joining the Falcons, Dexter has been a key contributor to a defensive front that ranks in the top 3 in the NFL for quarterback pressure rate. Through the first three games of the 2026 season, he recorded 7 tackles, 0.5 sacks, and 14 total pressures, ranking among the league's top interior pass rushers. Falcons General Manager Ian Cunningham, formerly the Bears' assistant GM, cited Dexter's "power, disruption and impact" as the primary reasons for the long-term commitment."
  10. It's all explained here and it's just crazy. In all my decades watching the game I can't recall ever seeing a team flip the Oline like that. Keep in mind Ben's not doing that against some rookie Defensive Coordinator, this was Vic Fangio. Nor was that a bad defense. Philly has good talent with lots of experience at all 3 levels of the defense. Plus he called it with Theo on the field and his 3rd string QB. Last year was Ben 101. This year is Ben 102 and it's only been 3 games. By the time we get to the playoffs we might be seeing Ben 103. Now the Jets, then Packers, will see it on film and have to spend time preparing for it. Except the next time we see these formations it might be done with a more mobile QB in Bagent or Williams which unlocks more play options. Just imagine play action to the strong side with a naked boot leg to the weak side, and a TE (at RT or from the strong side) leaking out on a route.
  11. Atlanta is signing Dexter to a 4 year 78 million extension with 48.5 guaranteed. Matt Ryan making bad football decisions?
  12. Yesterday

  13. Ah, that’s what that number is for. Lol. Have to imagine that went up at the last minute. 🤷‍♂️
  14. Here’s a link to another social media post talking about the goaline TD. Cool when explained: https://www.threads.com/share/BAQ6Tf8JMC/

I see that today, 9/30, Gordon returned from the IR to start practicing with the team. Starts his 21-day window to be elevated to the 53-man roster. Let's see if he can make it back or give up again.
  16. When Adam posted this thread, PHI was a 4.5-point favorite.
  17. I'd be curious to know what the odds were before Monday's game? Guessing they were heavy in Philly's favor?
  18. Thanks for the info. Amazing HC & OC. I am surprised we are only 3.5 point favorites this week vs. the Jets. Yes, I know "any given Sunday," and we are on a short week for prep, but come on, with home-field advantage considered a given 3-point shift, it is basically saying we are in a toss-up game.
  19. Still riding the high from my in-person experience a few days ago, but now that I’m back to the doldrums of being a Bears fan in Alaska, I’ll say this: Johnson is a wizard with his play‑calling. If tailoring a game plan for a 38‑year‑old retiree and making him look like the second coming of Brady isn’t enough, then I don’t know what is. Sure, he’s made a few boneheaded calls, but some of the intricate designs he rolled out on Monday were just wow—truly innovative. I saw one clip on social media (can’t find the link now) showing a run play where, instead of Jackson and Wright lining up on the right side, they shifted to the left. Then Kmet (I think?) motioned over, with Burden covering the right edge outside Thuney and Jones. When the ball was snapped, everyone just steamrolled the Eagles’ left defensive front, with Rousch thrown into the mix. It really put the Eagles back on their heels. And then the pièce de résistance for me: the Keenum sneak into the end zone. Watching it live, I thought, “Wow, he got in way too easily—no one even touched him.” Turns out Johnson designed that play with both guards pulling in opposite directions at the snap, which caused just enough confusion up front for Keenum to practically flop into the end zone untouched. Johnson later said it was actually a Mike Martz design that he decided to try out earlier in the week. Great stuff! Looking forward to whatever he comes up with for the Jets.
  20. Really looking forward to how he and Bryant work together. Gonna be epic I feel.
  21. All possible and perhaps likely. Remember we’re the same team that stripped the ball off Hurts last year on a tush push. If it were me I’m handing the ball to Barkley behind that oline.
  22. Philly was on the 1 yd line, 1st and goal, I would think they run the tush push at least one time. Dalton coming in changed their play options, shifted momentum Philly gained, and saved the mistake BJ made for not taking a FG going up10-0. If Philly scored it would've been 7-7 and Philly has some confidence kicking off before halftime and getting ball back 3rd qtr.
  23. Having a good and fast safety is game changer to my comfort level watching games. The play where he covers 20 yards from single high coverage to keep Saquon to a 7 yard gain is the best example. Last year that would have at least a 10 yard gain if not 15
  24. The same Hurts who threw two passes to T J Edwards on the same drop back coverage one quarter apart?
  25. Last week

  26. If Hurt didnt have to exit the game, that failed 4th down attempt would have turned into 7 pts for the Eagles instead of an INT and that momentum could change the outcome. Its okay to question the coach, he is crazy at times. I call him out for passing too much when there's a 3 and out. Not that I don't like the guy, its I want to win at all costs and those gambles dont always win.
  27. Agreed, but for different reasons. We saw that Keenum is proficient at this offense, now it's Tyson's turn. It's important for his career to be seen succeeding. It's also important for us, as a desperate team may overpay for him at the trade deadline.
  28. there is a big difference on this week and last also. i 'believe' we shit canned the SP long snapper who was terrible, and brought back the older vet. PLUS we were smart enough not to have ROUCHE in blocking. you are a stat guy. compare successful 4th down plays against unsuccessful field goals. i would love to see those odds in vegas. so yea, field goals are not a given but i stand by what i said. you take the points.
