Whatever the need at LT is, maybe great - it doesnt change that we desperately also need a pass rush.
-
Look at Burden perfectly fitting and exceeding DJs role and he is just slightly below Aman-Ra, same for man, and slightly less vs zone. And theres Odunze looking VERY good. Gotta spend time with the jugs machine this offseason Rome.
-
Him and Burden play the same position. I don't think that was ever a thought.

3 KC receivers clustered together in the bad-bad quadrant.

The most promising part is that there is room to grow because his comp% is so low. However, if in Maye's case, he is already at 72%, the only place to go is down from there as that is not a sustainable rate in the NFL.

We heard from Matt Ryan and he said the GM and coach have final roster authority. Progress Update: Ryan noted the team has made strong progress in the GM search, having interviewed multiple candidates, including Joe Douglas, Mike Bradway, and others, as of late January 2026. Role Definition: Ryan stated he is not doing scouting or running meetings, and that the GM's responsibilities remain unchanged. Support System: His focus is on acting as a support system to ensure the new GM and Head Coach have the resources to build a winning team. Philosophy: Ryan expressed a desire to find a GM who shares a philosophy focused on building a strong, "tough" team in the trenches. Process: The search is focusing on changing the structure of team operations rather than just "recycling names".

I don't trust Eric with anything he has to say from previous made up stories. We have heard from a lot of people but not the NFL or ATL Falcons on this matter. I have never seen this context since they installed the Rooney Rule. Why has this situation never happened before?
-
Didn't think of that but on a one year deal, a contender may need an above average player. 5 th round is a viable pick to develop for future years. Lots of what if still to be figured out by the bear's. Hell, they could restructure and keep him one more year too.
-
if two teams want him, they can bid for a trade like a 5th rounder or something. I think teams will be interested, but I also think they will wait until we cut him and not worry about trading unless someone wants to be sure they get him I guess
-
They can release Edmunds now, but the Bears won't gain anything. Might as well hold onto him until March.
-
Erik Lambert has an article about this. Said Brad Biggs confirmed it. It is out there if you do some digging, took 10 seconds to google. "Ryan Poles will not block his assisants from advancing their careers." https://www.sportsmockery.com/chicago-bears/bears-insider-finally-sheds-light-on-ian-cunningham-comp-picks-situation/

I think management circles know exactly what is going on, it's fans are confusing the information and creating rumors.

Declan Doyle withdraws name for Eagles OC positions, stays with Bears
Stinger226 replied to adam's topic in Bearstalk
It was right to mention us in dysfunctional franchises. I never thought that before but outside sources looking at us think so. -
Even if they trade a player, it's not enough money. So you have to get what you can done to see what you have. Trades won't happen untill the new league starts. If they know Edmunds isn't coming back because of releasing them, they can count that money. Adam can they release Edmunds now if they want ?

I think a lot of that might rely on trades too. ANd since we cant know that yet, they probably are running with multiple scenarios for each of those outcomes.
-
Yep, you would figure they would want to have some idea on how much money they really have available vs projected.
-
Man Cleveland and NYJ are the most dysfunctional franchises. I think we are finally out of that rut. No one wants to go there and when they get a new Head Coach, other coaches want to leave.
-
I agree with all of these thoughts, but i suspect it wont be a metter of DT or DE, but we will be more active than that and put new faces all over the DL. Some may be big names, and some not, but i think this defense is in for a major overhaul.
-
If I was the Bears, I would confirm before letting him go. I see it as you, but with tweets or articles on it from notable sources, you never know.
-
Digging deeper. Matt Ryan publicly stated that the GM and head coach will have roster authority. This should put fake news to rest...
-
Are you sure people aren't just repeating a rumor? No one sites a NFL employee or the owner saying that. I think it's speculation. The owner was asked that very question in an interview and denied the allegation. Like Mongo said he's making more money, a higher position of importance. Why is this the first time that this situation ever popped up before?
-
Biggs, Cronin and someone over at suntimes have all reported the Falcons GM job would not be eligible. Cronin I believe said Bears intend to protest and request the picks.

Turner should be 3T only. Dexter is horse crap at 3T and should only play 1T. Honestly, I don't really like him at all. He's still the last person off the ball. If it's 4th and 1, I know I'm getting one by running at him. Billings gets a lot of crap, but he's faster off the ball by a longshot. Your pick of Kayden McDonald is a good one. He's a big man that is disruptive. I would draft another 3T after that. Turner and draftee would make Jarrett obsolete.
