The Oline hasnt been playing well and its not logical to think it hasnt affected Swift. He is a third down type of back and not the pounder in the RB room, that person just hasnt emerged according to their plans. I think he has did find with what has been asked of him. He is effective when he gets in the open, not when he is hit before he gets to the line of the scrimmage. I think Monangai has showed some pop but the line play has restricted his play also. Not sure what they can change in two weeks, but we will find out.

You always come up with great wisdom at the right moment. An argument from a couple of weeks ago and some people just cant let it go. So much to talk about now. Its been so peaceful for the last couple of weeks.

If the Bears dont have any value for Braxton, you aint getting anything if you did trade him. Who is your depth if you traded Braxton? One injury and your back to having problems again. Kiran is next in line and he hasnt looked good. Having depth is much more valuable than a 6th or 7th round pick next yr. Ozzy would be the only backup OT on the roster.

One thing I noticed is that he ran through contact better in the second half. It's almost like he was responding to a challenge.

I think there are two parts to this. The player change definitely helped because Jones is not really a mauler. I also think the Raiders gassed themselves a little bit. If I asked you who won the Time of Possession battle, just thinking back about the game, I would assume you would say LVR won it (I thought they did) because of their running game, but in reality the Bears had the edge 33 mins to 27, and ran 64 plays to 52. In the 4th quarter the Bears had the ball on offense for basically 10 minutes out of 15 with 19 plays before the kneel down. The Bears going 7-16 on 3rd Down and 1-1 on 4th Down compared to LVR 2-8 and 0-1 respectively, was another factor. There was a stat coming into this week that the Bears were one of the best teams on yards before contact, but Swift was one of the worst YPC. I think it is a mix of both but for me, with more blame on Swift because Monangai should not have a better YPC than Swift as a rookie.

Just for value perspective, Houston just traded Cam Robinson to the Browns. They received a 2027, 6th round pick for Cam and a 2027 7th round pick.

Huge injury news, Edwards, Loveland, AND Gordon all practiced today, so unless they have setbacks they will all be full goes for WAS in 13 days. Edwards is a tackling machine and Gordon is the swiss army knife they have missed. If Jarrett gets healed up too, it would be the first game with at least 10 starters on defense with JJ still out. Johnson also gets time to figure out the O-Line shuffle and incorporate Loveland and Burden more in the game plan.

We are all basically ghosts throwing out thoughts to escape reality. Let's get back to the Bear content and keep the hard/soft feelings at home. We are all brothers and sisters that drop in many times a day to see what's new. 🐻⬇️☮️

One move I didn't think about was trading Braxton Jones for an RB or Edge. Very well possible if they are going to go with Benedet or Trapilo. Some have speculated that he would be inactive instead of a backup because he exclusively plays on the left.

Lamar is going to miss a few weeks with a hamstring.
-
In football coaches often tell players to know when the play is over. It’s the same with conversations.
-
I tuned in with 4 min left and heard the announcers say their offense had not crossed midfield all game long. I thought I accidentally tuned into a bears game from last year.
-
Ben Johnson I believe said the same. That the running game is not the RBs fault. Time will tell.

I recently came across this statistic (from the LVR game?) in an article on SI.com. Rumor has it that Theo gets the start at LT in week 6. Maybe Swift isn't the problem?

It was ridiculous! The raiders fans couldn't believe it...

Interesting how close Goff and Williams are passing: Goff 929 yds, 9 TD, 2 INT Williams 927 yds, 8 TD, 2 INT, 11th in yards, t-3rd in TD Passes, 15th in QBR, 14th in QB Rating. All the while Goff has Gibbs and Monty as RBs. Huge difference in running game support. Williams current 97.8 Rating would be the highest QB Rating in a single season in franchise history (w/ more than 250 attempts). Trubisky had a 95.4 in 434 attempts in 2018.

We started out with the worst schedule in the league. As you look at things now, it looks like more winnable games . What we get after the bye with some healthy players back and BJ addressing some weaknesses will define our season. Im an optimist and see us being better, hopefully that adds up for more wins.

You expose yourself every time you say something. 1) No one was praising Jones and thinking he should be resigned. Everyone just said he was a average NFL LT, which is true.. It doesnt mean he was very good by saying that but then because everyone didnt agree with you, you attack people, tell everyone how your always right and how stupid everyone else is. Then of course because of your ego and shitty attitude, you attack people. 2) Your ego again gets in the way, you get irritated when people disagree with you and write small novels about how smart you are and see things other people dont. Then you show attitude and people push back on that. Then you go into name calling. Saying you are stalking is not name calling it is what you're doing , you tell the Forum to go f..k themselves, and come back everyday and dont give opinions. Name calling is calling you a spineless little bitch for acting like a jerk when you choose to come back when Jones fails to tell everyone how smart you are. You act like you have never did anything wrong. When you decided to call me a pedophile for going to Thailand, people respecting you went out the window. I had several people DM me and said they should kick you off here for that, I said to just let it go, so you didnt get butthurt. 3) You say how you dont know everything and then go on to tell people how wrong they are about having a different opinion. Im going to leave that as you are just a jerk instead of going into the mental illness aspect that shows. 4) (You dont have a attitude when people disagree with you is the funniest thing you have ever said. As far as me, I thought Justin Fields could get better and as long as he was our QB, I wanted him to succeed. Your take on that, (Justin Field tantrums). You were always changing my words to your delusional take on subjects when I disagreed with you. As far as getting into it with Mongo, he got tired of your ( Im smarter than you because I am great at watching tape). It has always been about your ego and going to you attacking people. Now you are deciding if you will bless this forum by you coming back. I dont care about anything you say, its laughable how you expose yourself all the time. I dont care if you come back, it is not going to change what I do but you are not capable of being respectful to members because of your ego and attitude. Start giving your opinions again. It will last about two weeks before you start your delusional egoistical behavior. You cant help yourself, its a brain weakness you have. I have a friend that is a therapist and just showed her your posts and asked her opinion without telling her the whole story. You do not want to know what she said. If you come back stop with the small novels every time someone disagrees with you. I quit reading after the third sentence because you just keep repeating yourself.

The Bears have to take care of business in the next 5 weeks before they hit the gauntlet of games starting in MIN in Week 11. The next 5 teams combine for a record of 6-14, then the last 8 combine for a current record of 20-10-2, 19-7-2 without CLE. If you hope for 4-1 in the next 5, then they need 4-4 to hit 10 wins, MIN, CLE, GB, and SF, PIT, or DET. Week 6 at WAS 2-2 (#10 OFF EPA/P) Week 7 vs NO 0-4 Week 8 at BAL 1-3 (#7 OFF EPA/P) Week 9 at CIN 2-2 Week 10 vs NYG 1-3 -------------------- Weel 11 at MIN 2-2 (#1 DEF for EPA/P) Week 12 vs PIT 3-1 Week 13 at PHI 4-0 (FRI Game on the road ugh, short week+road, feels like the DET game in Week 2, #4 DEF EPA/P) Week 14 at GB 2-1-1 (GB gets one day of extra rest playing on THU while Bears play on FRI, #4 OFF EPA/P) Week 15 vs CLE 1-3 (#12 DEF EPA/P) Week 16 vs GB 2-1-1 (SAT Game, short week, GB has to travel back from SUN afternoon game in DEN, helps Bears, #4 OFF EPA/P) Week 17 at SF 3-1 (SF plays MNF in Week 16 in IND, short week plus travel back home helps Bears, #9 DEF EPA/P) Week 18 vs DET 3-1 (could easily be resting their starters for this one, in CHI in January lol for Goff, #3 OFF EPA/P, #5 DEF EPA/P) 2 games left vs an Elite offense only (GBx2) 4 games left vs an Elite defense (MIN, PHI, CLE, SF, 3 on the road) 1 game left vs a team with an elite offense and defense (DET) The Bears are 22nd on offense and 20th on defense for EPA/P. Rushing game on offense is the biggest liability with the run defense the 2nd biggest issue. Pass Defense the biggest strength followed by Pass Offense.

With the DEN win, all 4 2nd Year QBs that played won this week. Nix had a really good game, and bumped his QBR over 50. So going into Week 5, the 4 non-injured QBs all have QBRs over 50, which is cool to see. Hopefully this group turns out to be the next 1983 QB class.

Yeah, they have fallen off even more than I thought they did. BAL did not look good either. Next 5, all are winnable.

The Bengals game has officially become a "you better win this" type of game after seeing how atrocious they've been the past two weeks. They look like a team dead in the water, and they know it now.

Winning Ugly is this the game that changes the culture?
Bears4Ever_34 replied to adam's topic in Bearstalk
The Commanders game is an important one, because a win gives the team some legitimacy as a playoff threat. It's good that they beat the Raiders, but the Raiders stink. They should beat bad teams, even on the road. I want to see them finally beat a quality opponent in a game that matters for both teams, otherwise the idea of a culture shift rings pretty hollow for me.
