Bagent or Keenum against Fangio doesn't sound fun. If the Bears can't get the run game going, it will be another long day. Barkley is questionable after a stinger, Goedert is out, so if Barkley can't go, the main threat is Devonta Smith. PHI is a hard team to gauge right now. They are 2-0 but beat WAS and TEN, who are both 0-2. They only beat WAS by 2, and TEN by 4. I feel like this was a win with Williams, but probably a loss with Bagent or Keenum. I assume the Bears keep it close and it is a low scoring game.

I think it safe to assume that IF the Bears end up starting their third string QB this week and IF they make it into the playoffs, BJ should be considered coach of the year. This is about as adverse a situation as you can be in.

It’s interesting because protections and complexity of offense indicates it takes a bit for a young center to be ready, but with Caleb likely out a week or two is now a good time to go through those growing pains.

Bradbury had reached the point where he’s not helping the offense. Too many penalties and he’s not good blocking. Just put the rookie out there. We might still get some mistakes but we’ll also get better blocking.

The last clip were the fg was blocked, Roush's side was over loaded. 4 Olinemen vs 6 D. The TEs cannot leave the wedge/wall and open a closer route to kicker. The TEs stay basically leg locked and use arm length to try and push the outside rusher. The snap, set up, and kick were just too slow and why they moved on to Daily?

Kmet was also late on the snap - which implies in this case it was not Rouschs fault or maybe coaching. Or maybe it was seeing that video.

Whats crazy is watching FGs, Kmet and Roush stay basically frozen. Looks like they are coached to not move their feet and only reach with arms. Now roush seems later for moving, but its both sides. Video of clips

yikes. and for sure, Roush bears a lot of the responsibility for that too (and other things) but the snaps have been consistently high both weeks for Gardner. And yes, they are both rookies. Roush will get his chance to grow, but I dunno where Gardner ends up.

He just wasn't ready which the brass gambled again and at least are adjusting. Roush may have been late off the snap and rumor has it Gardner was not snapping on the right count.

Well after a bunch of just awful special teams snaps, one of which in part lost us a field goal that would have the game tied at the end instead of a loss, the Bears cut/waived Rookie UDFA long snapper Beau Gardner, and brought back our long time long snapper Scott Daly, activating him to the 53 man roster today. Well deserved. Gardner is not ready for prime time. I do not know if they will resign him to the practice squad and keep developing him or not, but he might just as likely be just gone. I mean, they probably keep and develop him, but he is in no way ready to be an NFL long snapper. He's been awful both weeks.

He got slammed pretty hard on a sack which should have been a penalty. The defender drove him down pretty noticeably. I assume that is when and maybe slowed him down mentally afterwards

I just read on USA Today's Bearswire that Bagent is in concussion protocol? This is the first I've heard of this.

The good part about him is he is highlycompetitive, pretty smart and should start showing up positively. I am more concerned with his ST blocking the most. Maybe coach Hightower needs to be put on notice because we have seen this way too often. One the last 3 seasons on something that shouldn't happen.

Will agree with almost all that. (Not a fan of banging on him nor blaming him for the loss - I am ok with him taking reps on the 3rd string offense for a bit). Learning the position may explain why we didn’t see Loveland until later in his own rookie season.

TE is the second most difficult position to learn after QB. Roush has a lot on his plate to be playing these meaningful minutes as a rookie, week 2. If anything, it is on BJ for putting him in these situations. He is now the most hated Bear and being called another wasted 3rd Rd pick with Garrett being a close 2nd. I say give the kid time.

Yeah he had a really bad game. But hes young, and his tape is great, so i think it's one of those give it a little time things. But you can bet the coaches are ALL over him this week, and rightfully so.

Agreed. I think Bagent can manage the offense just fine. I have faith that BJ will design the offense accordingly. Its not like he had a super mobile QB in Goff while in Detroit and did just fine. My take is he needs to stick with the run...and give Roush some more time in 3rd team reps until he learns to catch and block. oy vey.

Where is the Bagent fan club? Most, if not all, of us thought highly of Bagent before this injury. Sure, he is nowhere near the QB that Caleb is, but how many starting QBs in the league are? I'm certainly not expecting the Bears to wilt away and die with Bagent as the starter.

Did the math and Chicago’s offense is still averaging 31 points a game. So there’s that. 🤷‍♂️
