Given your advanced age Im not surprised you know that. š. But yes that does provide me some comfort. Anything to get me out of my āfeelsā. Lol.

Canāt remember if I covered this but was born at the Great Lakes Navy Hospital (both parents were officers there - I returned 17 years later to begin my own naval career). Anyhow, mom and all her family were spread all over Illinois. Grandparents lived in Woodstock. When I was wee kid I could remember the drive to Woodstock from OāHare was an eternity and. A lot more open country. More recently after my grandmother passed I made the drive and I swear the line between Woodstock and Chicago no longer existed. Crazy. Hell on the way back to the airport I stoped at a quick stop and there was GB shit everywhere. Talk about insulting. Anyhow put in the context of how much the urban sprawl of Chicago has swallowed up it makes sense that a podunk town like Wolf Lake might be just a Chicago suburb anymore.

Looks like you might have forgotten to write which alcoholic beverage supported your post. Lol.

A 2nd round and id consider, but you better believe they would be drafting one day 2 and they would still be more vulnerable without Tyson. Backup QBs do not get reps like the #2s at other positions do. In fact they rotate often to give rest at most positions except for oline. So a backup QB is something you want someone who knows the system and can function in it. Caleb is not invincible and one day he will miss time. Would you prefer Tyson Bagent or Cade Klubnik QB Clemson in the 3rd round? Now say this happens week 13 and we face GB and Det the following weeks with playoffs on the line. Bagent might not miss a beat where a rookie might be a deer in headlights

We're the pride and joy of Illinois....errr Indiana...Chicago Bears...Bear Down.
-
Wolf Lake area of Hammond. Wolf Lake straddles the two states, just west of Whiting.
-
Thank you, I get lazy sometimes. That's the guy. I don't know if the Bears still have ties to him but had him around a couple of years.
-
History does matter. If Hallas was still alive today, he would be the first person to go where he makes more money. He was the tradition.
-
I understand your point, I live 90 miles northwest of Chicago, they are now going to be 35 minutes from Chicago. It's just a metropolis to me. Once I hit Huntley it's all just City driving well into Indiana. I don't go to games anymore. Maybe I would look at it differently if I still did. My TV doesn't know the location of the stadium.
-
Would help you to know that Hammond is actually a Chicago suburb or that Papa Bear started his football career there? The Bears are rooted in NW Indiana for over 100 years...
-
Meh...beg to differ. Being a traditionalist it doesn't sit well. Yes I know as far removed as I am it shouldn't matter a bunch but having grown up as a CHICAGO Bears fan, its hard to accept the idea of them physically being a NW Indiana Bears team. Yes I know I was told nothing really would change but to me this seems like a slower motion relocation similar to what Modell did with Cleveland back in '95. Is my "cope" that technically they'll still be in the greater Chicagoland sprawl?
-
Is this for the potential move to Indiana or for the land they acquired at Arlington? I had heard some talk asking what the team would do if they ended up not going there.
-
Maybe Austin Reed? Interesting anecdote I learned about him on my last most recent vacation. My daughter's twin roommates told me that they went to High School with him in Florida. Said he was a real douche.

We are better off having good depth at every position but it's not any different from trading good players at other positions. It's about value you could get back. To do the trade you at least need to hold out for a 2nd rounder IMO. That's an above average starter in most cases.
-
A lot of fans don't like this but it's not any different from living in another state and still being a bear's fan. The bears are a business and businesses are leaving Illinois in droves. A poorly run state. I get if you're a ticket holder but it's literally 39 minutes away from the Chicago center. Living 90 minutes away from Chicago, 30 minutes isn't a big deal.
-
Getting closer. Indiana has unanimously passed everything. The Bears have also said they will commit 2 billion to a project in Hammond. Hammond is logistically close than Arlington. Airport, train, bus and highways will make it more accessible than Soldier Field. Hoo hoo hoo Hoosiers! "Who's-your" Chicago Bears! Just heard from my guy at the statehouse. He said, the McCaskeys want to build "Bearsville". It will have museums, parks, amphitheatre, restaurants, shops, hotels etc. They want a full weekend experience.

Bears would be smart to showcase Bagent this preseason. Of course this draft would be long gone, but we need a capable backup that can come in with little drop off in 2026.

Been watching a lot of tape on McDonald and he's a beast. Probably won't make it to 25. Had 65 Ts as a DT, that is amazing. Lee Hunter is rated as a mid to late 2nd round. He has good tape on him too . https://youtu.be/E-pRCcROhAI?si=jrdZmSNP9OspUfB3

No one is giving a first rounder for Bagent. I think they keep the offense intact for this year and upset the continuity as we become a top 3 offense in the league. A second rounder may sway them to change their mind though. Isn't there another young QB they bring into camp every year? He was from a small school and was a record setter in their division. I can't remember his name.
-
plus we already have two guards waiting in the wings in McFadden and Newman.
-
So first off, after 2027, Bagent is a free agent, and he's 100% going to a team where he can start. It's not a matter of whether we can afford him, we surely cant afford to pay him starter money, even low starter money. So he is definitely gone after 2027. If Bagent goes this year, next year or in 2028, we are going to want to find a kid to develop. Maybe even this year, in like round 5 or something. Keenum can be the QB2, but we will need his replacement. And a QB2 always seems like it doesnt matter untl your QB goes down for four weeks. You want to be able to stay in the playoff hunt during that time, so you really do want a good 2nd stringer. I would look at a 2nd or a 3rd going into 2027. But to take him now, it has to be a 1st rounder for me. Maybe a 2nd and a 4th or something like that. If a team thinks he's a starter for them, then they gotta pay something to get him, especially a year early like this. Otherwise, Id rather keep him this year. next year is a different story because hell be in his last year, so you want to get something for him before he walks.

Caleb was on Maxx Crosby's podcast which leads to speculation.
-
All good points. Only restructure people you want more long term. I don't think they are making a big signing this off-season,more like a Cameron Jordan or Clowney. So just enough money to resign their own FAs, rookie deals, cap space and a DL on a moderate contract.
-
I think Tremaine Edmunds is going to get cut soon
Stinger226 replied to BearFan PHX's topic in Bearstalk
Edwards contract doesn't allow him to leave this year but definitely we need more speed at LB. I wouldn't mind a high pick there.
