According to my TTNL guys, Burden has signed with a fully guaranteed deal.
-
OK and just as I am typing this... The Bears blinked, and Burden has signed a fully guaranteed deal. Glad to have him in the fold!!
-
I mostly agree with all of this. You definitely were not overreacting. It was a real problem, and thanks should go to the 49ers and the DT that signed and broke the logjam below the #10 spot. There was real progress here in the players' direction. 87% guaranteed rather than the 40% that was usual before. And good for the players! This still leaves picks 3 thru 9 in limbo though, including Burden. I hope he signs quickly, but Im not sure the SF DT signing will affect the players taken above him? I do hope we get him signed quickly, but Im not sure what will happen. The video Stinger posted as a "rebuttal" to what "I said" (when I was really just repeating every journalist on earth that was talking about this story) was crazy, and as you pointed out Mongo, and I had missed this, the video was a month ago, so not even relevant. But time had already proven that video guy wrong. Im not sure Stinger even understood what that guy in the video was even saying. Anyway, we got Trapilo and Turner signed, and those were the two I was most worried about. I do think Burden has the possibility of being a head case (like so many great WRs) so i wonder 1) if he will find a middle in this, or hold out for fully guaranteed unless or until someone above him signs for less 2) if he will be able to get into the lineup if he misses more time with the time 3) if not getting enough targets will sour him and make him a malcontent Im not predicting anything, these are just my concerns with him.

If you look back at my post, I was not overreacting. As a matter of fact, it was hopeful that Poles would be creative. This dude is calling unknowledgeable, butt hurt, fans and I ain't that dude. Anyway, this guy made the video on the premise that he expected the second rounders to be signed before June 19th. Being that was mandatory minicamp, I wonder what his thoughts were before yesterday. It's obvious from his statements that he expected results sooner than they occurred. That's I why I blamed the Seahawks for digging in and log jamming the process. It just takes a trickle before the dam breaks. Glad it happened. I don't expect Burden to take much longer, now that Trapilo and Shemar are in.

That is crazy. I said that there was a logjam in the second rounders because the first two had been given fully guaranteed contracts, and now agents were holding out for the same for their clients. Thats been backed up by pretty much everyone. i didnt think it was controversial at all. Then you took my post, reposted it and responded with a video of a guy who said that was all made up and didnt exist, and was just idiots on the internet. He was wrong, you are wrong. You said you were amplifying what Mongo said, but Mongo also knew there was a logjam. I posted a tweet from Ian Rappaport about it. If that doesnt make it true, I dont know what does. The rest of this is just an attempt to cover your stupid and wrong video with some personal nonsense. I dont know why you listened to that moron that no ones ever heard of before, but he was 100% wrong. Last year 2nd round picks were getting 40% guaranteed, now when the logjam broke it was for a deal where the player got 87% guaranteed. I said the players were likely to win this, and it seems they have. 2nd round picks above the 10th taken, where SF signed the DT, are still holding out for guaranteed money, including Burden. Its a real thing - this no name you posted is the only one i ever heard say it wasnt true, well and you. I truly dont get you dude, half the time youre reasonable, and the other half its this absolute nonsense and you dig in and start defending it like a 4th grade argument. EDIT - Is it possible that you didnt understand what the guy in the video you posted said? Were you drinking maybe? Is that what this is all about?

I have been on this forum for 16 years with over 14 thousand posts. Lots of good Bears fans on here. I am not (admin) just a fan. I started this thread just for sharing Bears content from other creators that someone may have not seen, noticed or was aware of. There has been almost 7000 views so someone picks and chooses different stuff to look at. The content of the creators are their opinion or information. Just because I repost them, its just because maybe someone of the 230 members or hundreds of guests may be interested in. It is not always my shared opinion. Many times I have posted content that I disagree with. So to be clear, its about sharing other Bears content and not because its my opinion. Some are done well and some are not. If you like the reposts enjoy them or if you dont ,that's okay just turn it off. Since I noticed there seems to be lots of guests viewing this forum that are not members, why dont you join? That is how I first started getting involved in this site then became a member. May I invite more people to join and freely make comments. You can make comments as a guest, but easier if you join, the more the merrier. Sometimes there are heated arguments but those are only a few of the 230 members it is not a reflection on the majority of members. Most people on here are good Bear fans. This is the perfect year to join , something great is coming. Since I have been a member 2018 has been the only year with lots to cheer about. There is a small group that does the majority of posts but this is the year everyone needs to jump in and enjoy being a Bears fan.

Bradon Thorn is considered one of the leading experts on OL (Trench Warfare ) this is his newsletter. It posted a partial list but you had to sub to get the rest of the information. I went in to try to buy the sub and everything just opened for me. Here is a top 15 of the OL at each position. No LT / Thuney top rated LG/ Dalman 9th rated OC/ Jackson 14th ranked RG/ Wright 10th ranked RT. Our OL is in great shape. The Eagles are considered the best OL in football, they only have 4 on the list.. Lions 2, Packers 3, Vkings 3, Broncos 3 I am posting the full article, ignore the first post (its incomplete) Be adviced before you read the artilcle BearsFan PHX has not given his approval on the article so it may say something you think is stupid or dont agree with., I DO NOT ACCEPT RESPONSABILITY FOR CONTENT https://trenchwarfare.substack.com/p/ranking-the-top-15-players-at-each-be0

His point was about people getting upset about players holding out, that it will happen normally when training camp starts. He wasnt staticically tried to prove a theorm. Everything I say or anything I post you just go out of your way to say something negative about it. Then your response was (you think this , you think that) all off of just posting a video that stated people dont need to get excited, they will be signed when training camp starts. I was being scarastic in saying he was refering to you. It wasnt some counterpoint to a statement. Have an opinion , call it stupid, nonsensical but its always about taking a shot at me. (You watch a lot of nonsense dude) You just never stop . I worked connstruction my whole life, and learned how to co- exist with people like you. Let me say again, I dont know what your agenda is but I aint going anywhere. If everything I say or everything I do irritates you, have fun in your delusional sense of reality.

In Ben Johnson we (currently?) trust

Which is why I hate the TE pick this year.

No it was just stupid. The 2nd rounders absolutely were waiting for the teams to offer them fully guaranteed money, or a player to sign with out it. They were all log jammed. He was just wrong. He seems like some rando who has no idea what hes talking about. I dont know why you posted it, I assume you agreed with it which is why you posted it. And if you agreed that the 2nd round logjam was made up and not real, then that's some really deep level nonsense. Picks 3 thru 9 are still unsigned, including Burton. Anyway, you can see the Ian Rappaport tweet I shared, so if you still think it was made up, I dont know what to tell you. And since you quoted my explanation of the issue above, I assume you also think this somehow rebutted what i was saying. So that's pretty dumb too. What I said was true, and again, its not because Im some amazing NFL insider - the story has pretty much been everywhere. Im kinda baffled why you even did that, but if you think it's not real, then enjoy that. I dont know what to say.
-
I dont base my viewing choices on whether you like them or not. You have to watch the video before you decide if its worth sharing. I shared it because it addressed exactly what Mongo was talking about on the 2nd round picks. Plus retired and just out of the hospital , have a lot of free time. Oh by the way I dont care for Dr Phil and you subscribe to that. ((I just rewatched it and now understand why you were whining about it. He did not call you stupid he was just refering to a group of fans blowing (not being signed ) out of proportion. He even apoligized for using a word you use all the time to degrad people. ))

It was also irrelevant, as it was made before June mini camps.
-
The guy in the video you just posted didnt understand the guaranteed money issue. Thankfully the 49ers DT signed, and that opened up the possibilities for everyone that signed below him. he's pretending that nothing happened, and this is all normal based on the date on the calendar, but he's wrong. There was a logjam, and as far as I know there still is for picks 3 thru 9 in the 2nd round. So it was real. He is 100% wrong, and who the hell is he anyway? Let's also see what % of these contracts are guaranteed vs last year. You watch a lot of nonsense dude.
-
Turner and Trapilo were both taken after the 49ers DT, so that signing broke the logjam. Burden was taken above that, so he may still be stuck in limbo. I hope Burden ends up being a stud for us, he certainly has the tools, but he also has some head stuff (like all good WRs?) so i dunno if we can count on him being signed by camp. But, he's also nursing an injury, so maybe the signing date is less impactful. It is really important to get Trapilo in there if hes going to make a case for starting. And Turner needs to be in there too. So good news today!
-
Nice! These two are more important imo. With DJ & Rome, Burden and Loveland will see fewer snaps. Figure 5 OL, QB, RB, TE, and WR1 and 2, these 2 are left splitting that 11 opening
-
Trapillo is also signed https://bearswire.usatoday.com/story/sports/nfl/bears/2025/07/17/bears-sign-ozzy-trapilo-rookie-contract/85251987007/
-
Great news! Looks like Poles did some of that creative negotiating I was wishing for yesterday. Can't wait to see the terms.
-
Turner and Trapilo have been around the whole time. Burden has had soft tissue injuries to deal with but has to be here to be part of the offense. Yes he may be the outlier.
-
Glad Turner is in and can get started developing. This guy will be key fixture in the future. I expect Trapilo to be next and soon. Burden might be the clog, you know he will want the 100% and the Bears are going to want some protections based off of his perceptions.
-
The first of the second rounders, that will all be signed by time players hit the field.

Sign of changes have shown up in this last year. We fired a coach in mid season,. never happened before. We paid a big contract to the best canidate available for 2025, I cant remember us every doing that. For some reason our coaches and GMs have always been on different timelines. Not healthy. They just resigned the GM to align with BJ. Having a GM-HC and top QB prospect aligned in the sametime is a great look for a bright future. I think we are looking at (A Perfect Storm) scenario. It is not a perfect roster, I think the coaches are the best we have ever had run our team. I THINK ITS HAPPENING THIS YEAR , A Winning record, playoff run, and lots of great offensive stats that breaks Bears records. Sit back and enjoy it, we deserve this.
