  2. I looked it all up myself. I was trying to see how good the 3rd-6th pass catching options were on those teams. Did they just have 1-2 elite receivers, than average players, or just a bunch of average guys but with a lot of depth. What I found is that the Bears technically have the deepest pass receiving group with 40+ reception potential I could find, ever. That's if Moore, Odunze, Burden, Kmet, Loveland, and Swift all catch 40 balls. That would be a first as far as I can tell, still going back in time. For the rushing info: In 2022, KC won the SB, went 14-3, had the #1 offense, but their leading rusher was Pacheco with only 830 yds rushing. In total, the team had 1,970 yards rushing between Pacheco, Mahomes, Edwards-Helaire, and McKinnon. In 2021, LAC had Ekeler with 911 yds as their leading rusher; as a team they had 1,834 rushing yards. In 2021, TB had Fournette with 812 rushing yards, and the team had 1,672 rushing yards. Then in 2019, TB had Ronald Jones as their lead back with 724 yards, and the team had 1,521 rushing yards. So the range of rushing yards for 5K Passer Teams was as low as 1,521 with Winston in 2019 to 1,970 with Mahomes in 2022. In comparison, the Bears had 1,734 in 2024, which is basically the median between the high and lows from the listed teams with a terrible O-Line and offensive scheme.
  3. Today
  4. Great post to look at with the possiblity of that happening in the next few yrs. Where did you find that , I would like to know how much of a running game they had those yrs. In 2022 KC had almost 2000 yds rushing
  5. i was traveling so I never responded to this. there is absolutely positive and negative aspects to human nature that everyone leans one way or the other. That is where the half glass empty / half full analogy came from. ;By the way it is always changing according to how we deal with life. Its not a true statement constantly. I plumbed for 50 yrs but went to school to be a therapist and took enough sociology courses to know what that is . Example: I remember whe Fields had that game where he had 16 consecative complitations and people were talking about it and your comment was ( that was good but he wasnt hitting his first read very often_) that quote is not exact but something like that . Everyone was liking it and that's what you come up with because you didnt like him and was looking for something to say negative. The only reason I remember it because it was an odd thing to say after throwing 16 in a row and looking like he could be our QB of the future.
  6. I was curious to see who the last few 5K Passing Teams had for skill position receivers, and how those groups compare to what the Bears have on paper right now. Outside of the super high-end All-Pro seasons for Kelce and Godwin, the other numbers for the rest of the players were not as high as I expected. Going into 2025, the Bears 5th best pass-catching option is Swift or Kmet, so the lesser of the two is the Bears 6th-best pass-catching option. That is unprecedented, even comparing the Bears 2025 projections with some of the best passing offenses of recent history. So there is a good chance that the projections I posted are actually on the low side. One other interesting note, none of the 4 teams listed here had a 1K Rushing RB that season. 5K seems absurd considering the Bears have yet to have a 4K passer, but I really think the 4500 projected is very realistic considering the amount of playmakers the Bears have as pass catchers, the improved O-Line, and Johnson's system. Take a look at let me know what you think. 7. This is our most dangerous offense -EVER DJ Moore is one of the best WRs in the league. I think over his career he is ranked 9th among current players. Last year 9th in receptions 9th in targets 26th in yardage 28th in TDS this was on a dysfuntanal offense with a rookie QB. In 2023 2nd team all pro. Rome Odunze is a second year player with pro bowl potenial Cole Kmet is the 9th TE in the league 28th in targets 22nd in catches 25th in recieving yards 13th in TDs on a dyfunctional offense with a rookie QB CBS has him ranked 9th after a poor staticical season. Colston Loveland is the top receiving TE in the draft. Compared to Sam LaPorta that is ranked 3rd in the league Luther Burden was the best YAC WR in this draft. Compared to Odell Becum Jr. DeAndre Swift made the Pro Bowl in 2023 while playing for Philly , a bad OL affected his play , terrible play calling, a rookie QB
  8. It takes 3 yrs to judge drafts as most speak of so we look at 2022 to see how the draft worked out. Here are every OT drafted in 2022 up to pick 168. The best LTs in the draft were Charles Cross at 10 ( ranked 11th) Bernard Raimann at 77 (ranked 4th) Braxton Jones at 168( ranked 20th. ) At 6) Carolina took Ikem Ekwonu . He is a good run blocker but not good as pass blocking. PFF grade Ranked 38th out of 140 Ts- PBG 65th-RBG 11th. 909 snaps 12 penalties 7 sacks At 7) Giants took Evan Neal . Overall 73th- PBG 111th-RBG 9th 459 snaps 6 penalites 2 sacks Hes playing RT At 10 )Charles Cross. Overall 11th- PBG 15th -RBG 16th 1094 snaps 8 penalities 6 sacks At 15) Kenyon Green playing LG At 19) Trevon Penning ranked 75th 1081 snaps 13 penalites 5 sacks playing RT At 24) Tyler Smith playing guard At 57 ) Luke Goedeke ranked 30th 905 snaps 10 penalties 3 sacks playing RT At 67) Joshua Ezeudu plays guard 10 starts in 33 games. At 69) Nicholas Petit-Frere playing RT ranked 122th 621 snaps 10 penalites 10 sacks At 72) Abraham Lucas plays RT ranked 60th 406 snaps 6 penalites 4 sacks At 77) Bernard Raimann LT ranked 8th 856 snaps 6 penalites 4 sacks At 110 ) Daniel Faalele playing RG At 111) Max Mitchell backup At 140) Zack Tom plays RT raked 4th 1068 snaps 7 penalites 3 sacks At 145) Darian Kinnard backup now playing guard At 168) BRAXTON JONES plays LT ranked 20th 719 snaps 7 penalites 5 sacks PFF rates every play but you can hold judgement on how good they are but at least they give you a complete set of stats to compare players to. Easy to say LTs drafted high give you your best chances at good players. It wasnt a good example in 2022. It was considered a good year for Ts with 3 being drafted in the top 10. So what can you get out of this these results from 2022? Instead of putting our draft results somewhere else: we didnt have a first round draft took Kyler Gordon at 39) I dont anyone would say this was not a good pick took Brisker at 48 ) started 35 of 51 games. Injuries robbed him of 12 games this year. You would say that was a successful draft pick as he has a high end ceiling . Injuries are a question but you didnt know that in 2022 took Velus Jones at 71) Poles as a first year GM was getting flack for not having enough WR help for Justin Fields and I believed he reached for Jones because of his speed. Big failure No 4th round pick at 168) took Braxton Jones this was a absoulute great pick started from day 1 At 174) Dominick Robinson , he is still around but was a failed pick as of 5/5 2025 At 186) Zacharey Thomas he got stolen off our PS but never amounted to anything At 203) Testan Ebner not in the league anymore At 207) Doug Kramer still on the roster backup At 226) Ja'Tyre Carter not in the league anymore At 224) Eligah Hicks a vaulable backup with 15 game starts At 225) Tenton Gill was our punter for 3 yrs. V Jones was a clear failure otherwise this was a successful first year draft for Poles. If I remember we had 6 picks and he turned them into 11 .
  9. Right. What's done is done. I can put an asterix on Pole's handling of the draft board, but we have a nicegroup of players. And honestly if Trapilo turns out great, then I'm gonna give Poles an A for the draft anyway. He definitely got an A in free agency. Now it's time to develop those players and see what weve got!
  10. Every single draft I am like what? We do so many mocks that we have our wants embedded. I hope Banks becomes a great LT because we seen his game and knew he might be our last shot at drafting a high end LT. As for RB, I can hold off a year for that guy since we paid Swift and have some guys that could surprise. I watched a Hyppolite interview and think this guy will do what it takes to be great. I cannot wait to see him take a spot.
  11. getting guys open and then finding them quick is absolutely the name of the game, and Johnson is a genius at it. We have as good a shot of putting together a truly dangerous offense as we have had in many many years. This WR/TE room is now better than Marshall, Jeffries and Bennett. And Odunze is gonna surprise a LOT of people. We did not see him used properly last year. I think he might be our leading receiver for yards this year.
  12. I agree. The list of players is great. The number of players is great. The positional consideration is good but not great. I cant say which is better. That's subjective, and theoretically they should be about the same value. Had we reached for more positional concerns, we would have lost overall draft value, but gained in other ways. So Im not saying it's bad, just pointing out how it would look best on a draft value / number of players measure like the list above, and the score doesnt represent any positional issues. So Im not surprised we scored high on that list, given the way we went about things, we maximized what the list is measuring. Also, I agree about Ersery and Trapilo, he can come in and make us forget all about it if he is great. I was thinking more about getting scooped on the later HBs, like KJ and Skatebo? But like Trapilo, just because a guy wasnt as heavily scouted, especially by me!, doesnt mean the Bears didnt find a gem who will outperform the names i was expecting. But i think Poles wanted some of those names too, and got outmaneuvered.
  13. I think besides missing out on the LT and Jentry run early, Poles capitalized. Loveland and Burden might be 2 of the games biggest nuisance for defenses to cover. Comparing Tripilo to Ersery, we might feel shorted, but they were both 2nd round guys which netted a bad ass DT/DE. So in the long run, missing a higher RB, Monangai might be a steal that we never expected.

    Nick Chubb?

It all forces a defense to plan for many options in the game. I'm curious to see how Ben uses all these talents against the Vikings defense. If Caleb can read it quickly and get the ball into the playmakers hands these players can feast.
  15. Yesterday
  16. well for better or worse, we stuck to best player available. that means we may have missed on critical positions, but it also means our draft value is maximized, and we get good scores, especially when we trade down for more picks. That'll help the draft grade. But does it do right by the team is the argument. And that goes both ways too.
  17. Before things happen, there is speculation which is often crazy, and leaks which are manipulations. Sometimes there is actual information too, but it is usually identified in ways like "internal sources say" and then you have to evaluate whether that's a clickbait liar, or a real reporter. Like for example if Adam Schefter or Ian Rappaort say it, it's probably true. And a guy like Erik Lambert says all kinds of crap, but he doesnt claim its an actual leak. And usually he is just reposting what someone else said on Twitter, and a lot of THAT is contradictory and BS. But if he DOES claim its actual info, it could be a total lie.
  18. This draft class drew high praise and graded the 3rd best. We have had different opinions, but to think of the weapons added you can only imagine how fun Sundays can become. https://www.si.com/nfl/bears/news/chicago-bears-receive-elite-grade-for-2025-draft-class-from-nfl-rankings
  19. I just noticed where we are more interested in JK Dobbins, and also we inquired with Seahawks on the availability of Walker Jr. Everybody is so full of it.
  20. no problem, just whoever we like best can be had for a pretty cheap one year deal, if we need them
  21. I hope he does, but he will have a possible rising star on his heals and both contracts will be up in 4 years. He has a year of experience to jump start these next 4 years that might be the "greatest show on sod". Poles will have his work cut out in those coming days to manage the cap. Draft picks will become more important to maintain the talent when they can no longer pay everyone.
  22. GB - Key Acquisitions: Banks (65.4), OG, Hobbs (61.4), CB Top Draft Picks: Golden, Belton, Williams Biggest losses: T.J. Slaton (DT), Josh Myers (C), AJ Dillon (RB) Wild Card: How many near INTs from Love will turn into actual INTs? SOS: 23rd Summary: No change (Golden replaces Watson) I can see it now, Love throwing his lucky moon shots and Golden being the recipient. The NFL did a great job building the rival hype and I expect to see the Bears open at Lambeu Field for Sunday Night Football.
  23. He reminds me of a slower Rutger, Isiah Pacheo, who ran 4.36 compared to Monangai 4.6, (Roschon 4.58). The stat that stands out is their 10 yd splits, Monangai is 1.54, Pacheco 1.55. D Henderson and Roschon had 1.52. He will hit the gap and get his 5 yds. He may also get swallowed up at the LOS or break a tackle for 20. Roschon is a bigger back, 6' 210. Kyle 5-8" 210. Kyle's profile allows him to slip tackles and he has great balance with a lower center of gravity. Let's not look past Ian Wheeler 5-11 210 and ran 4.39. He can pass pro and can take it to the house. The RB stable has some horses and it will be interesting to see the 53 man come fall.
  24. I believe so. I knew very little about anyone we picked but been watching all the tape I can find on our draftees and I get it. Monangai is an excellent compliment to Swift. Pass blocks well and NO fumbles. That's a good prospect to be hopeful for.
  25. adam

    Nick Chubb?

Looks like Chubb may be a done deal soon, either 1 year $6 or $8M per Internet rumor mill.
  26. He’s a better player than Roschon Johnson.
  27. Monangai highlights against a stout Ohio State game in 2023 https://youtu.be/XxwrQ1WMe3M?si=zUmNALBfsVSOPKs3
  28. I think they all drop off some as we got a lot better. Detroit/ new coaches, GB/ love not getting better, Minnesota/ new QB,
