Day 3 prospects
We just traded up and got Jordan van der Berg. We got DL help, ( I have no idea if he is any good. )
-
This is Ben Johnson’s team
This draft isnt going to be received well because of the last of prospects on the DL but I think it overall upgrades the roster. Theineman with Bryant are definite upgrade over the two starters last year. By reading the profiles Muhammad and Elliott could be eventual starters that have speed. Roush , Thomas, Jones all add to the offense .
-
Pick 89, Zavion Thomas, WR, LSU
Even without him I think our WR room will be good, with BJ, he will be a weapon that defenses have to account for that upgrades the rest of the offense. His speed demands attention. I look forward to see how the second year of this offense gets better. Raymond and Thomas add 4.34 and 4.28 speed. BJ is going to have fun.

News Flash, This Just In: Ryan Poles Diagnosed With Dimensia
The two of them were here for the good and bad picks. I dont think the grades by the sports organizations really mean anything in the long run because it is just an instant reaction without them being on an NFL field. You dont get realistic evaluations until 3 to 4 yrs down the road.

News Flash, This Just In: Ryan Poles Diagnosed With Dimensia
Cunningham is talented, but its Matt Ryans job making these football decisions...ugh. What Poles has done seems fine, we dream of our desires and the Bears take something we never imagined.

I mean, Ian was here for Zacch Pickens, Velus Jones, and Kiran, so let’s mot pretend he gets credit for the good picks but no blame for the bad.

Day 3 prospects
Yes , my point was they are paid millions to get things right referring to stacking their board as to pundits and fans rating players We only have last year to judge this group, and it was successful. What I stated had to do with trusting them because of last years draft, not making a point that getting paid big money made them good .
-
News Flash, This Just In: Ryan Poles Diagnosed With Dimensia
I hope Ian Cunningham going to Atlanta doesn’t expose Poles’ too much . Ian’s’ day two grade was an A compared to Poles’ B+. (Reason for day one grade of C was due to their trade of this year’s #1 last year to get James Pearce Jr.).
- Today
-
#169 - Keyshaun Elliott, LB, Arizona State
Seems ok for depth
-
Day 3 prospects
I’m just reacting to what you wrote which was that because they are paid millions of dollars they have credibility. Now you switch and say their credibility is based on last years results. I don’t agree that being paid a lot of money gives anyone credibility. I do agree that last years results give them credence to what they are doing this year.
-
Day 3 prospects
If there is someone there they like they could trade both their 7th picks and move up somewhere. Otherwise 70 picks away. Take a nap.
-
Day 3 prospects
They staying with their board and drafting players they like. It would be nice to grab a DT or DE but if they arent rated very high by their scouts. muh
-
Day 3 prospects
Elliot has 4.58 speed and was a a team captain and had the green dot for the defense. 98 tackles-7 sacks-2 PDs , 6'1 1\2 " at 233 lbs. Brugler says is an eventual starter.
-
#169 - Keyshaun Elliott, LB, Arizona State
Not a guy I’m familiar with, but he was super productive last year, including some good sack numbers, and while I’ve heard questions about his athletic ability he seemed to test pretty well. You probably had one more spot in the LB corps up for grabs so this is fine with me. Sounds like a good special teamer and pretty smart player. I might have preferred Harold Perkins, but I have no beef.
-
#129 - Malik Muhammad, CB, Texas
Quality pick. Like his tools. Who knows but I think this is type of pick in this round you shoot for.
-
Day 3 prospects
Keyshaun Elliott LB - not impressed initially, seems like another missed opportunity and may as well took S Jalon Kilgore who can play anywhere LB, CB, S. He is a mike lb , good test numbers. Can rush the QB and a run thumper. Eventually takes Edward's spot.
-
Day 3 prospects
Logan Fano, Rayshaun Benny or bust!
-
Pick #25: Bears select Dylan Thieneman, S, Oregon
Thieneman and Muhammad add good back end speed. As D-lineman help the DBs by rushing throws, a great backfield pays the dline by giving them the time with great coverage. Still need to find a DT or DE, depends on Turners positionn i guess.
-
Day 3 prospects
Iots or RBs still on the board that could be our third back.
-
Day 3 prospects
I like Capehart a little more, but Benny was a guy I liked as a fit too. Joseph just went to Commanders. Still have Nadame Tucker, Curry, or Logan Fano from Utah. Intrigued with Patrick Payton LSU, I think he still has potential with the right coaching
-
Pick 89, Zavion Thomas, WR, LSU
Ben was publicly saying he wanted to add elite speed to the offense. He wants more home runs this year. DJ was fast but he wasn't fast enough to beat DBs with leverage on him. This guy is. For a guy who is not a "hands catcher" he reportedly has a drop rate of just 5%. If Jahdae Walker takes a step up into WR4 territory then Ben has an embarrassment of riches at his disposal. He can beat teams by spreading them out or going 13 personnel.
-
Day 3 prospects
DTs still available that fit the scheme are RayShaun Benny and Demonta Capehart. Also Zane Durant. DE still has Caden Curry, Max LLewellan, and Josh Josephs available.
-
Pick 89, Zavion Thomas, WR, LSU
He is not DJ Moore as a receiver but he definitely replaces some of what DJ did for us around the LOS, WR screens, jet sweeps, and by lining up as a RB on occasion. He doesn't bring as much power but more explosiveness and agility. He's an upgrade over OZ and his ceiling is likely WR3. If he stays WR4 and proves to be a good returner then I'm ok with this pick.
-
#129 - Malik Muhammad, CB, Texas
His 40 time is listed as 4.42, so the Bears continue to add speed.
-
Day 3 prospects
Bears traded up for Mohammed. Pick 129 and 144 for pick 124 and 166.
