  2. So true. I dunno how realistic it is with our defensive line this year, but yes this is one of the next important goals. First comes flashes - we've seen that. The rest of this year is to gain consistency - make first downs, win time of possession. Then, if we can get a proper pass rush and can stop the run up front, our window to compete opens. Soon we should be able to beat the bottom 20 teams consistently - then we have to learn what it takes to beat those really good teams. So yeah, I totally agree with you. That's whats in front of us.
  3. Bears eventually have to win these games they aren't supposed to win to get to the place we all want them to be. Unless the defense completely rolls over, like they did against DET, Caleb needs to rise to the challenge and win this game. Getting to 3-2 with the Saints next on the schedule would be huge for the confidence in this team. If they get smacked around by the Commanders, all that culture change talk after the win against the Raiders will mean absolutely nothing. Nothing changes until they win one of these big games, against an actual team.
  4. I don’t think the Bears have the horses to win this. Run defense doesn’t match up and even with no McClaurin - between Daniel’s, Debo, and the running backs I can’t see our defense holding them to under 28. Offensively we have seen progress- hopefully they can keep building and start to show progress on ground game and we see Caleb play his most complete game yet - but if they fall behind with the Commanders pass rush - this game can get ugly early. Let’s go Bears - step up here and play some great football!!! Would love to see Montez show up and let MNF jump start his season and the pass rush with Booker hopefully back. I see DJ having a big game and curious to see what tricks/wrinkles Ben has up his sleeve following the bye week. Hopefully we see Caleb continue to grow from the pocket and see his footwork and timing continue to improve. Let’s also clean up those penalties!
  5. I saw Kid Rock at Stugis in 2024 for the first time, very entertaining. Definitely will watch the alternative choice. Because of baseball talk, I have been listening to more music lately and heard Creed several times, now I know why. I only saw them once but seen Alter Bridge with Mark Tremonti many times. Those are the music choices I prefer.
  6. Yesterday
  7. Yes. Kelly Clarkson, Carrie Underwood, Morgan Wallen, Mariah Carey, Ariana Grande, Kane Brown, Michael Buble, John Legend, Garth Brooks...
  8. The wife and I saw Creed this summer and it was fantastic. Lots of hits and sing alongs. They would have been a great choice. My 19 year old says they are hot right now. Zac Brown Band would be great as well. They play everything at their shows.
  9. It appears I was duped by the internet. And bad editorial preview on my part. However, their records aren’t all that different at this point of their careers. And I’d like nothing more than Williams to go 8-0 over the next 8 games . 🤞
  10. For those that want it, I read that Turning Point will be hosting their own halftime show where they’ll premier entertainers like Kid Rock and Lee Greenwood. 🤭
  11. Bo Nix really isn't that good. He's a marginally improved version of 2018 Mitchell Trubisky with an elite defense. Denver's defense is loaded. Nix nearly just lost to a QB on the other side (Justin Fields) who had -10 net passing yards.
  12. I think we have a good group of coaches and will address some problems we have and make it better. Not sure we can become a demon defense against the run but at least get us to a level of average. It appears that we will have everyone back but Grady Jarrett. Not referring to the players on season ending injuries. Adjustments and health should give us a boost. We have a new LT. BJ has a better effort from everyone and Jones didnt get better. Blame in the injury it doesnt matter it wasnt good enough. Beno now gets his shot. I dont think they think he will be a world beater but at least have the chance to grow and be better every week. He had some bad moments against Crosby but also some good ones and that's what they are banking on with Theo. As last year's Washington game was the blow up moment for that team, I think the block FG will be that moment for this year's team. I think all of the games are going to come down to the last five minutes of a game this year and we now have confidence and a QB that excels in that moment. It should get us a winning season.
  13. As I see the point of the NFL trying to expand their base, that does not mean I agree with it. I think in any marketing decision, you should always pick what the majority likes. As you see their seems to be a focus on the halftime show when it should always be about the game. The NFL has made bad choices in the past and dont expect that to stop.
  14. I've heard his music. It sounds good. I'd still love to understand it. I don't think I should have to learn Spanish, in an English speaking nation, to discern it.
  15. Come on, you hardly understand American artists words lol. Music is about the rhythm and beat, which he has songs were you feel that. I really don't care who plays but all the whining makes a lot people look bad and that is the picture that might be intended with this choice.
  16. It doesn't make sense from a marketing perspective, as I don't see American football ever taking market away from futbol or baseball in Latin nations. 80 percent of the world watching the Superbowl are English speaking. We have plenty of marketable artists that sing the language.
  17. That would be awesome but doubt it. Schedule too tough. Also, don't think it ever happened...
  18. I expect a better effort in the run game but if we hold them under 125, I would be happy. Its going to be about how many points we score, a better defense will just be a bonus.
  19. That makes sense, they have the old folk they are trying to get the younger people to pay attention. It doesnt make who is playing the halftime show, I will only watch artists I like anyway.
  20. Deebo questionable too, clearly not 100%. The Bears have to take advantage.
  21. The 60-70 year fans might be the ones buying the tickets now, but the league has to keep the game flowing drawing in younger people.
  22. Last week
  23. Perhaps it was politically motivated who knows? I always thought that those that might not like Bad Bunny performing were still boycotting the NFL but here we are. I’m fairly certain Bad Bunny appeals to not only a younger generation but also has an international appeal as well (as you suggested). The NFL is still trying to expand (internationally) while staying relevant. My guess is several current NFL players have him on their playlists. I know my daughters (both in their 20s) know of him as do most of their friends. The fact he’s an American citizen also should be a sense of pride, not division.
  24. McLaurin and Noah Brown out, so outside of Deebo and Ertz, this is going to be a run heavy attack. Looks like Johnson announced Benedet will be starting at LT.
  25. Good post. This is the critical year that lifts Poles or buries him. If we end up with a winning record it changes the course of his legacy. He has plenty of misses on his record, but he has some hits to. He will be remembered for hiring BJ and drafting Caleb, not all the third round misses. He came in here with a big job, we were in cap hell and lots of old players with heavy contracts. He changed the cap situation immediately by getting rid of older players that made us a bad team and didnt have a first round pick Inherited Justin Fields. With Fields career going in the wrong direction, we had two terrible yrs, as expected by the previous roster construction. He came in here saying it would take 5 yrs to turn this around, we are in yr 4. 2022 draft gave us Brisker , Gordon, a 3 yr starter at LT in a 5th round pick Braxton Jones, and a 7th round pick in a good backup Elijah Hicks. Dom Robinson is still hear but will be judged by this year's progress. This is yr 4 of that draft and the proper time( IMO) to judge his draft. C seems fair when you count he didnt have a first round pick. You cant expect injuries as far as any of these draft picks. He also added as UDFA Jack Sanborn and Jaylon Jones that ended up plus players. Im not going to go thru all of his drafts but overall going into this yr, I give him a C- but that grade could change if we end up having a winning season . Something I find questionable is people throwing out who we could have drafted that flourished after our drafted players. You can take any GM in the league and do that to make them look bad. Maybe the Ravens would be the only team that is on a plus side of that debate. Recently the Lions have been doing well also. I give him credit for fixing the cap-the big trade that gave us several blue players-hiring BJ-drafting Caleb . This is the year to determine his proper grade his 4th yr in his rebuild and will wait to make a final grade. The only thing that matters is if we become a winning team and as A Bear said, this yr has a long way to go to determine his legacy.
  26. It is so early, who knows how they slot. Its been a while since I ran one. Just wanted to see some name/position possibilities. Did one with 1st of: LT World, RB Love, and DE TJ Parker
