  1. Past hour
  2. No chance Poles is leaving or a team is trading for him. They are good friends but Poles isn’t leaving for that. I do think it’s pretty likely Cunningham goes. And no one is trading a 1st round pick for Poles.
  3. Today
  4. I didnt see the rumors - Ashkum did, I was just playing with the idea. It sounds far fetched for the reasons you just said, but id be all for it of course.
  5. Those are legit rumors or wild speculation on the internet? There'd be way more involved than the league-sourced two 3rd Rd picks, likely at least one 1st Rd pick if not more. That would in effect be Poles giving up his future draft capital for his new rebuilding job in Atlanta. He'd also be saying he made a mistake with the Williams pick and that he now thinks Penix is the better QB option. If we get anything out of Atlanta make it Bijan Robinson. Matt Ryan and whoever (Cunningham) are not giving up the one elite talent they've got on offense.
  6. It's official, Ryan has been hired as President of Football Operations for the Falcons: Franchise passing leader Matt Ryan returning to the Falcons as president of football

I also think it is sort of ridiculous to create a new "position" on the All-Pro team called "All Purpose" and then give it to a player that already won an award. Bijan got 1st Team All-Pro for RB, then 2nd team for All Purpose. McCaffrey got 1st Team All Purpose, but did not get 2nd Team RB, that went to James Cook. To me, this makes no sense. If McCaffrey was the best all-purpose player and he is a RB, then he is the top RB too. How can McCaffrey be the top All Purpose player, but not the top RB, but Bijan can be the top RB and the 2nd best All Purpose player? That is just silly. This is the first year they have awarded it, and I think they really messed up and set a bad precedent for the future of the award. How would this ever not go to a RB who has a high volume of carries and receptions?

Thuney and Byard make 1st Team, Wright makes 2nd team. I thought Dalman had a chance at Center. No one else on defense makes sense as Wright has been bad in coverage but with a lot of turnovers. On offense, Dalman feels like the only real snub considering the packed field at the skill positions. Byard is a free agent, and neither of the Safeties are signed beyond this year.
  9. i've seen this coming for some time now. these greedy B;stard owners and corporate NFL are making this sport a pay-per-view item. they enjoy tax benefits from us but that is not enough, they want more. soon, all local games are going to be broadcast on some pay channel with the 'possible' exception of the ability to watch out of conference games just like they did with college football. all playoff games will be PPV. soon you will even have to pay to watch the SB. if something isn't done soon you can kiss watching NFL games over the air in local broadcasts in your area goodbye. below is an email i sent to God-ell and his cronie Anna Isaacson. if you agree with this write to them and your representatives in washington and even local state reps. if you feel motivated to copy and paste or revise some of the email i sent on every sports board you frequent. enough is freaking enough!!!!! EDIT: i am also going to send my displeasure to the bears and their owners who must have ok'd this crap. you should do the same. ============== support@nfl.com - Contact Roger Goodell NFL Commissioner Anna.Isaacson@nfl.com - NFL's VP of Social Responsibility How Much Greed Is Enough For You People? Roger Goodell; Anna Isaacson; This is the way you treat your fans of decades by jamming it down our throats to pay to watch the NFL? The fans that brought you to the pinnacle of professional sports you just wipe your feet on for more personal gain? If you want to turn the NFL into a cash cow for the big streaming corporations then it's ALSO time for the corporate NFL to be turned off of the taxpayers dole. $3.2 billion in federal taxpayer dollars has been used to finance professional sports stadiums since 2000. This dole is for some of the richest corporations and highest paid CEO's in the United States. Yet our tax dollars aren't enough to satisfy your/their draconian greed? The Tax Reform Act of 1986 wanted to end the exemptions for private use, including stadiums. Instead, the bill inadvertently created a loophole allowing stadiums to be backed by tax-free public bonds. It's time that loophole was CLOSED. Let the billionaire owners and corporate NFL pay their share instead of us. I know a letter/email is going out to my representatives in Washington to shut off any and all taxpayer support or funding that the NFL may glean. As for myself? I have stopped watching Major League Baseball because of the greed and stupidity. I have stopped watching College Football since they now require me to pay a cable company to watch local teams. I have watched and promoted the NFL for over 65 years. I have purchased thousands of dollars over this span of time in merchandise and game tickets. I will never purchase any Pay-Per-View venue to watch the NFL. I will never purchase a pennies worth of NFL sponsored products. I will never purchase another game ticket and I will boycott all advertisers on your broadcasts after informing them of the reason why. So welcome to the average persons cost of doing business as you float around on your yachts. Thanks for nothing, xxxxx xxxxx
  10. yes please - Id love that. Make it that Atlanta signs Cunningham, then trades him for Poles - we get the compensatory picks too then LOL
  11. Matt Ryan and Ryan Poles played at Boston College together. Ive heard the rumor of Atlanta trading for Poles and the Bears promote Ian.
  12. Yeah ones gonna be Pres and the other ones gonna be GM, and theyre just figuring it out. If it was me, I think the player goes President, and the asst GM goes GM.
  13. I heard they are also interviewing Matt Ryan for the president's job. Makes sense. He is Atlanta's HOFer and highly respected by the owner, and remains extremely popular with the fan base. President Ryan GM Cunningham Problem solved.
  14. I think you can trade next years since it is known you have it…where as you can’t trade a traditional comp pick since you technically don’t officially have it until it is assigned. With that said I’m not entirely sure on the 27 comp pick.
  15. thank you! and can we trade next years pick this year? I feel like there has been some prohibition on that with compensatory picks in the past, but not any more, but again, Im not an expert.
  16. I would think we would get the picks. It isn’t as if Atlanta is saving a pick and the point is to promote and encourage minorities into more high profile front office (or head coach) positions. Whether he is GM or President I would think the Bears would get the 2 picks. To the questions earlier - you can trade the picks and the Bears would get 1 this year and 1 next year.
  17. yeah, I mean it doesnt cost them anything, so they are just thinking about who they want for what job I guess. My instinct is that it WOULD count and wed get the picks, but I dunno. I mean they're trying to get "minorities" jobs right? And you're trying to incentivize teams to have "minority" assistant GMs, so why wouldn't you award this? I mean the whole thing is dumb to me anyway. Teams will hire whoever they think can win with, I dont think the NFL is racist. But I also dont mean to open a whole can of worms or any kind of discussion about that right now, 24 hours before the playoff game! And if theyre handing out 3rd round picks for anything, Ill take as many as I can get, no matter why.
  18. Yesterday
  19. That would suck. It almost seems like they are circumventing the system.
  20. Found this - not sure it answers anything, but its out there.
  21. I see where Ian Cunningham is being strongly considered for GM or President of the Falcons. I know that if he becomes GM, we will get two 3rd round compensatory picks. I assume the same would be true if they tab him for President, but Im not sure, so if anyone knows Id love to know: 1) do we still get the picks if he is President and not GM? 2) do we get the first of those picks in this year's draft, and the next one next year? 3) are the picks tradeable? 4) are both the picks tradeable this year? Might be helpful for moving up int he first round for a pass rusher, or in trade for one. Thanks to anyone who knows and can tell me!
  22. The man in the High Tower is holding him back.
  23. I know, it's odd. Where is all the coffin corner stuff? He was showing off these kicks in the offseason that have backspin, now all his kicks hit the 10 and bounce right through the end zone. Has to be coaching.
  24. GB Defense is still not the same without Parsons. Offense is less efficient without Kraft. Bears 6-2 at home, Packers 4-4-1 on the road. Using the last 4 games, the Bears have a distinct advantage, Congunkulator is showing a 6-point victory, 27-21. Whoever scores more than 21 first wins.
