Crosby is available again - Ravens deal falls apart due to failed physical

It's crazy that the Ravens can get away with those types of shenanigans, but the Bears can't even get comp picks they are entitled to for doing the right thing. -
Seen the Ravens signed Hendrickson to 4 yr 112 mil. Might be fake, but came here after reading that to see if true bc we are usually quick to post Looks to be real. So Baltimore gets their 2 firsts back and pay less. Raiders get Linderbaum and Crosby back for more trade ammo. Seems fishy, bc it stinks.

I’ve been a huge fan of Edwards’ as he’s been an unsung hero on defense. About a year ago I was discussing his stats with someone and found that he rivaled Lance Briggs on most of them. I fear this injury could be a crippling blow for him.
-
Unfortunately they spent 40M of cap space on him and Jarret. Jarret is good leader but that is not 40M of production. That said they can be creative with cap to fund now or in a year you can significantly upgrade with a difference maker (if one doesn’t become available sooner).
-
His contract doesn't allow him to be let go this year. It would be nice if they could do an injury settlement . We'll have to see if he makes it back on the field.
-
Our downfall on defense was mainly due to injuries. We wouldn't have been juggernauts but a lot better than we were. IMO you add a rookie DT, DE and possibly S and our defense will be in the top half of the league next year. I could see where if Brisker doesn't get a contract, he could come back on a one year deal for 5-6 mil. Once they added the Free agents, we will have clearer picture of the draft. I liken DAs defense as a good pass rushing team with several 7+ players, rather than a 15 sacks a year guy. DA likes to blitz from several different spots.
-
The story was more relating to current players and Cris Jones is elite for a DT but has only had 12 sacks in the last two years and averaged 9.6 over his career. Aaron Donald retired in 2023. He averaged 12.3 in his career.History has several top pass rushers on SB winners. We can both agree great QBs gets you SB winners. I didn't research his statements to say it's a perfect take.
-
IMO his only Inside pass rush benefit was on stunts. Achilles injuries are notoriously difficult to recover from we should just write him off as a contributor this year. We’ll need his cap space for other players in 2027.
-
I completely agree - can’t be just one player. I have not been pro Crosby cause 2 picks was too much - but him opposite Sweat plus Booker is solid. Add one of our 2nd rounders inside and the line gets significantly better (plus Shamar and Ayo back and our new DT signing)…now that’s a dline. Draft a safety and DB and I’m liking the D a heck of a lot more.

Crosby is available again - Ravens deal falls apart due to failed physical

Von Miller I think had the greatest impact of any pass rusher in a Super Bowl run. Regardless I prefer to see pass rush coming from all angles. The part of Crosby game that is not talked about is his run defense which is also really good. -
Ya I saw where someone did a breakdown of DA DEs and 6'5" 270 with 34" arms is the normal. I have read where pundits think Dayo is better at rushing the passer inside. I really don't remember paying attention to him when he was on the field. I think in an ideal world Booker is the rush specialist with another starter opposite Sweat. Dayo getting him snaps where he can. By Dayo size, I think DA had a lot with bringing him in here as was in his division.

He said they didn’t have a single elite pass rusher but the collective was very good. Point is that teams appear to be better off spreading the wealth of contracts across multiple good players versus the $40 mil pro bowler. -
I hope they phrase out Edwards and Jackson ends up with more snaps. DA likes speed and Edwards has been good but doesn't have the speed. All 3 will get plenty of snaps as we deal with injuries.
-
From my understanding Jackson was brought back to bridge the anticipated absence of Edwards while he still recuperates. I agree that Jackson will more than likely get more snaps by the end of the season.
-
I would count Jackson. He will see more snaps than Edward's imo. Edward's will be out in nickle.
-
Dayo fits his DE mold. DTs are lighter and shorter. I only looked at 5 years of his Saints rosters. You'd think he'd have a bigger N, but none during those 5 yrs.
-
That makes sense and also Dayo at 6'5" 282 fits that mold.
-
But the Ravens KNEW all about his knee surgeries, and they traded anyway. They didnt discover anything new, they got cold feet. And they've done it before. Also to say that Philly didnt have a pass rush in the SB against the Chiefs is just wrong. They put on a pressure clinic. Seattle also was able to bring pressure this year and it basically decided the game. If there is a lesson to be learned it's that pass rush is important in winning a superbowl.

Bears sign WR/KR Raymond to 1yr 5M deal (former Lion)

True and Cole or Swift could be next in order.
