I feel pretty good with Odunze, Burden, and Walker if DJ is moved. Draft another later and sign someone with better hands than zaccheous. With all the drops by all the receivers, they need to spend the offseason together taking Caleb's bullets. I love Randell El, but he needs to work harder getting his WR hands stickier.

Outside of the division, the Bears top QBs they will face will be: Allen, Maye, and Lawrence with 2 of those games at home. I kinda like that. Tampa Bay Buccaneers - Mayfield Philadelphia Eagles - Hurts Jacksonville Jaguars - Lawrence New York Jets - Rookie? New England Patriots - Maye New Orleans Saints - Shough Buffalo Bills - Allen Miami Dolphins - Tua? Atlanta Falcons - Penix/Cousins? Carolina Panthers - Young Seattle Seahawks - Darnold

Looking at this again with some of the playoffs complete, the biggest challenges will be SEA and NE, and BUF in BUF. JAX in CHI will be a solid matchup. If you consider SEA, NE, JAX, BUF, and PHI as top 10 teams, that is 5 games against top 10 teams, 6 divisional games (always tough), 4 meh teams, and 2 bad teams. So 5, 6, 6, is a pretty even distribution. I just hope they get a later bye.

Team players don't quit. This may be the most off base argument you have ever made. And it's not the second or third time either he has quit on the team. Also as he was a pouty little bitch last year. Good grief...

Dolphins hiring Packers DC Hafley as their next HC. Good chance with GB looking for a new DC their strong candidate is Al Harris. I hope not but we shall see. Bears Coach Emerges as Logical Option if Packers Lose Hafley

I'd prefer to move on from Swift instead of more years. Seems like he dogged it until Monongai showed us what can be done. They also switched up the run scheme. If a 7th round rookie can light it up, imagine a top tier prospect with speed.
-
Kelce said he may retire, dont blame him since Mahomes could miss time. Because he signed an extension doesnt mean he cant retire. He can make as much or more on TV and KC was awful this season. If DJ stays great, but they need to re-work his money. If he knew his assignment and hustled, he'd be a hero again and we'd be talking Seattle.
-
I think Poles probably surprises us but it won't be a RB. More likely in later rounds for a RB. I think they will look for a speed guy that can contribute on STs and be the third back. Swift is 27 and doesn't have lots of mileage on his body. I think they might extend him for a yr or two and get some Cap for next year.
-
Looking at draft buzz Peter Woods is ranked #5 , the rest of the DTs are all at the end of the first round. I'm thinking we could get a good one at 25. Things will change but 25 is going to give us a player that will contribute his first year.
-
I really liked Tankathons last draft. Pick one might be better getting a 3T, like Christian Miller, Ga. I might be greedy and take Alex Singleton RB if there rd 3. He seems like a good fit to replace Swift in time. But I'd be happy getting a NT like Corleone. 1- TJ Parker DE 2- Dillon Theineman S 3- Dontay Corleone DT 4- Alex Harkey OT

We finished with a 12 win season, won the north, and a playoff game because of our offense. Next year will be Caleb's breakout season. They're just going to tweak the offense rather than make major changes. The LT will now need some attention but the offense is ready to be one of the top scoring teams in the league. Every WR has been dinged up this year, I think they value what we have in the WR room.this year.
-
I think they are more likely to go DT in FA or to trade for and will address it in the draft. We have some assets at edge but almost empty in the middle. Whoever suggested bulking up Dexter to be the nose tackle is a great idea and get a 3 T in here.

Rome played 5 games with a stress fracture in his foot. Then tried to come back early for the Packers game.

Didn't Kelce just sign an extension? He's not going anywhere. If we redo DJs contract for Cap space, that lessens the reason to get rid of him. It's not going to be easy to unload a big contract, like you said Tennessee and Vegas have the Cap space to absorb it. No matter what anyone's opinion about DJ is he's a team player. Hasn't complained once in two years over not being the #1 target share. Block, runs the ball, plays hurt. I like the way Olin kruetz put it, fans need a whipping boy every year to blame losing. DJ is a sure thing. Rome has been close to a 50% catch rate since being a pro , doesn't play hurt. Burden could be the next great thing but its a small sample size. I think they keep this together for one more year and let Rome and Burden grow into their roles then everything is on the table. If you think he's expendable good for you, I just don't think the bears do.

Ten would bring Simmons into play...
-
Anything is possible. DJ would have to agree to it. I agree on the WR part for KC, especially considering Kelce's retirement. Kmet an option? Moore is the perfect WR for a bad team with a young QB, like TEN or LVR.
-
I am sure Saleh will bring in McDaniel as his OC, forming SF-Central. Makes too much sense. I bet that is what landed him the job over Nagy. Nagy has struggled to bring in other coaches. Fangio was already on the staff when Nagy took over, he then hired Pagano, then Desai. In Nagy's coaching tenure, the team never had the same OC/DC combo in back-to-back years: Helfrich/Fangio Helfrich/Pagano Lazor/Pagano Lazor/Desai

Nice. But couldn't we redo DJ and move some cap hit for KC this year? IMO, Mahommes needs a reliable receiver to work the middle, more than they need Jones. Don't forget the annual cap bump...
-
Not if they trade for Moore, they take on his cap hit, which would be $16.5M for them, which means they would swap Moore and Jones and be worse off than they are now. A cut or trade accelerates cap hits, while restructures lessens them pushing money into the future like you said. KC is only in a bind for 2026, so they can safely move $20-30M to 2027 with limited impact. They have to free up $62M or $70M in effective cap, that is almost 25% of the total cap. They can add also void years to help offset the spread of the bonuses. So Jones has a $44.8M cap hit this year with $35M in guarantees. Since the money is guaranteeed, they will have to pay it one way or another. So they can convert it all to a bonus which gets spread out over the remainder of his deal, 3 years. That would reduce his 2026 cap hit to around $30M (saving $15M). However, if they need even more relief than that, they can add a year or two in void years to thin out that bonus money over 5 years instead of 3, which would give him a cap hit of $26M for 2026, saving about $19M.

Crazy to add Sean McDermott to the list. https://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/article/bills-fire-head-coach-sean-mcdermott-after-9-seasons-promote-gm-brandon-beane-142034495.html And Nagy left outside looking in with Titans snubbing him and his replacement in KC already hired back. https://arrowheadaddict.com/matt-nagy-just-lost-dream-nfl-job-kansas-city-chiefs-arent-saving-him-01kfdavvp2kv

Yes, but they also get 15 mil in relief. I don't see how they can play with his contract to get more relief than that. (Without putting them further in hell down the road). DJ would give them a needed receiver at a wash in price. 2027 gives them better relief.
-
KC's cap is screwed. I don't think they can trade Jones because him and Mahomes are basically the only two players that you can get cap relief from with a restructure. If they trade him, they immediately get a $30M dead money cap hit, which doesn't really help their situation. I have seen Simmons mentioned from TEN, but TEN has the most cap space, so moving him doesn't make much sense if it is strictly for cap purposes. There are several teams that fit the criteria who are in the need of cap relief and trading a player would provide that: Vikings, Cowboys, and Dolphins

Hopefully, Turner is one of those guys. Other than that, we have zero interior guys with an ounce of twitch. I proposed a trade with KC to send them DJ for Chris Jones, plus anything else they may reasonably need. Not sure about free agency, but the draft always has these guys. Poles has been crap at finding them though.
