NFC North Offseasons
That have a birds eye view as to what they have. Like someone said Braxton is around 315 and working his butt off to enter a payday year and brought in Wills. They have to think very highly that that will work out. Not addressing that spot in the draft in any round makes a statement by itself.

Round 2, Pick 57, Logan Jones, C
Ourlads has a section where they give NFL depth charts and update them regularly. They have Corey Bullock listed as the strarting C. A two year UDFA. Never heard of him before.

I agree with you on missing on picks but I look at things differently since BJ got here, a two year sample size and this year is just starting. If I remember correctly wasnt that a AL Harris influenced pick? It seemed like he was panning for him. The draft is influenced by the coaches that have input combined with the scouting dept. Easy to criticized Poles but he wont be remembered for missing on Pickens and Velus Jones. Hiring BJ and drafting Caleb will be on his headstone. Clearly BJ has an influence on the draft and then we have to assume Flus did also. This is all history now, BJ and Poles will be tied to together as we look back on these years in the history of the Bears. They say if you get a couple of stars and a few contributors, that is a successful draft. Last year is all we have to judge and its looking like a win win. Frazier or a miss on Hyppollite will not matter. Of course if you judge a draft on just one year you will be wrong 75% of the time. Players like Hakim Hicks bounced around the league for 3 years before he found a home here. As a third round pick of NO , he failed for 3 years. Examples last year were Duhson Wright, a PS squad player for the Vikings and DeMarco Jackson . Wright was in yr 5 in the league and Jackson in yr 4. I think waiting to see what a few years in the league is more prudent that calling everyone a first year bust. There was a chart I saw that give the % of hits according to what round a player was drafted. I'll try to find the chart but I remember the third round is a 25% hit rate. That doesnt refer to making a roster but is related to becoming a good starter.

I am not saying anyone sucks, just at this point the Bears have gotten zero return on investment for Pick 109 from the 2025 draft. BUF used that pick on Deone Walker, who is a starting DT for the Bills and would be a first round pick in a redraft. The Bears were weak at DT and Poles decided to trade out of that spot and then pick Hyppolite and Frazier with the new picks. That is a terrible exchange. The Bears scouting staff seems biased one way or another. It seems to not work more than it works. So you get Monangai in the 7th but miss on Velus, Pickens, Scott, etc in earlier rounds. I know every team misses on picks but in 5 years Poles has wasted more than an entire draft's worth of picks. That miss rate is too high. He needs to hit on this 2026 draft and all future drafts otherwise there will be a steep dropoff in talent when Caleb's new money hits.

Round 2, Pick 57, Logan Jones, C
When Linderbaum got paid, it was easy to see the value of a good center.

Given all the action around LBs this off-season it’s fair to say the team does not have confidence in him. Of course we’d all like to see him surprise us. I like the fact Poles hedges his bets and I like the rookie we drafted.- Round 2, Pick 57, Logan Jones, C
It’s not too hard to say it since their GM said he was surprised the two centers went so early and now he has to figure out what they’ll do at center.- NFC North Offseasons
I agree. They may be waiting to make a move for someone like Tyler Decker, or they may feel ok about Benedet - those are my guesses. In either case, I suppose they are hoping to have Trapilo later down the line for next season? It's hard to imagine that they could be confident with Braxton or Wills. I mean, either could surprise, but I cant imagine betting on them right now. Maybe they have their eye on Decker and some of the FA DEs, and they want to see what theyve got in camp before they choose which position gets the $? These are all just guesses of course, Im not predicting any of this. It's a head scratcher for sure. Maybe it's as simple as Benedet is the floor?- Zah Fraizer, 2025 5th round pick waived
Can’t miss something you never had.- NFC North Offseasons
For a team that clearly went all out to rebuild the Oline last year, both in FA and the draft, the quiet confidence they’ve shown about the LT position this off-season is odd. Contrast that against what they did at center. 3 days after Dalman retired they traded for a vet. Then they were aggressive in the draft in round two to get the guy they wanted.- Camp Notes
The rumors are some kind of mental issue. I have no idea what is specifically claimed tho. Maybe suicidal, maybe trans, maybe all kinds of things, so no real info or point to speculate, but I do hear it was a mental issue. Maybe just anxiety didnt feel like he belonged? Whatever it is, it didnt resolve itself, and we drafted Malik.- NFC North Offseasons

Damn, that really sucks. I thought he would be a sleeper last year. Then he sits out with the personal issue. I again had hopes he would shine this year. Obviously, unresolved. I would love to know just what caused this mess.- Camp Notes
Nobody is saying he sucks. He just sucked last year. For all of his God given speed, he looked like he had cement shoes. Hopefully his brain catches up with his talent...- NFC North Offseasons
I am very cynical that Braxton Jones will ever be able to handle the bull rush and provide pass protection --BUT-- like any player if they show us something we havent seen before of course Ill be glad to see it. I will be thrilled is Jones or Wills kills it and takes the position with excellence. Im just not betting on it. But I will be very happy to be wrong about that.- Camp Notes
Not sure why everyone thinks Hippolyte sucks . Not all rookies develop at the same pace. I have no idea whether he is any good or not, but I dont think their dropping him until they see if he can contribute after a year of seasoning.- NFC North Offseasons
Respectfully disagree. BJ likes his OT's bigger than Flus did. Braxton was not fully recovered and playing at 295. He's allegedly 315 and yoked now. He just turned 27, so his best football could be ahead of him. I'm excited to see the competition and hopefully gain some really good depth in the process.- Camp Notes

maybe. I think our floor is Benedet. Its hard to have faith in Wills until he shows something, and i think we already know Braxton's ceiling.- NFC North Offseasons
LT is still a question mark, but a healthier Braxton is better than an injured one.- Camp Notes
Frazier thing sucks for everyone. The Bears traded Pick #109 and drafted Hyppolite and Frazier. Got literally zero out of that pick. BUF got a productive DL with that pick btw.- Yesterday

I mean that I thought that Trapilo was looking pretty good once he got comfortable. Certainly we are not worse than we were opening day last year, I agree.- NFC North Offseasons
I would say we're in the same place we were last year accept with a healthy Braxton and a vet addition of Wills. If they werent comfortable with their assets they would have found a way to bring a guy in. Having said they, they still could add there if it isnt working out. Also I saw an article in the Tribune and they listed Kiran Amegadjie as a OG. - More Videos
