Mock Drafts
Here's mine. Gets the D line addressed (I know Banks broke his foot, but maybe that means we are lucky and he falls to us int he 2nd round. I'd love Lee Hunter there too) Haulcy would be great for us, and he's likely there at 60. Malik Muhammad is an interesting prospect. Best 10 yard split of any CB. Plays outside. Id love to see what Al Harris can do with him. Bryce Lance is a Ben Johnson special. He's 6' 3" and runs a 4.34 forty. Might have to pick him in the 3rd in the real draft. He played at a smaller school, but he's got all the tools. And then I picked two OL who are good at pass blocking, and are real angry road graders. They can play OT or OG.

I agree with him being drafted higher than most search engines have him rated. I don't think he makes it to the first round mainly because of the numbers of DEs listed in front of him. It would be great to go down 5 to 10 spots and grab him . I think he will be the most productive DE in this draft the first year. Some may be better in a few years.

You are right about good football player over PFF stuff but DA does like certain types at certain positions. If there's two players with similar value, he will take the longer, faster guy. If a clear value at bigger , slower, I think he might change his prototype.

Thienman is a real stud. if he's there at 25, it'd be hard not to take him. Both he and Jacas are good enough to take there and neither will be there when we pick again in the 2nd round. If we could do some kind of trade back and still get one of them, that'd be a great move.

What I'm guessing here, based on his film, is that teams have Jacas more highly graded than the media says. Like Loveland and Kelvin Banks last year, I think he will go earlier than projected. And I think the Bears could well take him with the first pick. If it helps, the Draftbuzz site has him as like the 60th ranked player, but he never makes it past 45 to us, because of team needs and value/runs on positions when the simulator is run. Maybe we trade down a few spots and then grab him?

It's absolutely odds football. Kinda like "money ball" in baseball. The good ol draft crap shoot predicts outcome. I'm too old school for that. Give me a football player...

Did a big trade down and another somewhere along the way. Feels like there’s not much difference between the edge we get at 25 and twenty spots lower. Feels like this puts the Bears in pretty good shape.

I’m in this camp. I don’t think DA wouldn’t find use for Chris Jones or Deforest but you make do. I get it you need 3-4 or you have certain styles but in the interior talent wins. I do understand if you run 4-3 your run D might get punished if you have light ends (ie certain 3-4 ends aren’t going to work as 4-3 ends)

Placing height and weight on football analysis sucks. A 250lb DE is just as capable of collapsing a pocket as a 280lb DE. It's all about strength and speed and instinct. The same goes for DL and the inverse. It's all about individual talent. Otherwise, the likes of Dwight Freeney and Aaron Donald don't make it. It also tells me me a 6'5 guys like Richard Seymour, Chris Jones or Deforest Buckner can't make it on the inside. It's all BS. Talent is talent...

Woods had a down 2025 year and did not workout at the combine. He is a scheme fit player that fits as a 3T used to attack a gap, with 31" arms he will struggle against the run or getting off blocks. Being 21, he is young and needs to add more s strength which playing behind Jarrett, who he compares closest too, will be beneficial. If S Thienman is there at 25, and Woods, I can see the Bears taking the S since they might be able to draft a Gracen Halten round 2.

I would love to draft Jacas. I think he is similar to Kahil Mack as a power rusher. I looked at every top 100 prospects list I found and most have him late 2 nd round and early 3rd. We have 3 picks in that area. Since Poles has been the GM, rarely do people know who he's drafting. Caleb was obvious but lots of surprises. If speed is a determining factor, according to ranking, pick 25 should be one of these Theinemin/S, Keldric Faulk/DE, Peter Woods/DT, TJ Parker/DE, Cristian Miller/DT, Colton Hood/CB. I don't think we are taking a WR, LB, OT with pick 25. Some of those won't make it to 25 but a few could be there. I would not be surprised if we trade back no more than 10 picks back. WR is one of our strengths, no high pick. I originally thought LT was in play but with Braxton and Willis here have changed that thought. I don't think we take a LB at 25 because we signed Bush and Jackson, Edwards is coming back. Now I expect us to take one but not in the few first picks. I do expect us to take a OC but not until pick 89 or 129. We could actually see Bradbury get an extension if he starts the season playing well giving us another year to deal with a future center.

I think it's fair to say Jarrett, Turner and Dayo were influenced by DA. The new additions fall into those specs also, Galimore and Street. Speed is a common trait. Obviously you have to be a good football player. I doubt if Woods falls but your other names are in play.

I pulled up his NO defensive rosters. Shuffled through 4 or 5 years. They were all the same profile. Bears DA addtions: Gallimore 6'2 310, Street 6'2 315, Jarrett 6-1 295, Shemar Turner 6'3 295. Tells me we target at DT, Peter Woods 6'2 298, Gracen Halton 6'3 293, Zane Durant 6'1 290. Dexter is the odd man 6'6 326. I didnt look at DE or other positions. I know he likes the ends bigger. 6'6 270. Dexter needs to drop 50#.

All makes sense - I dont really know what kind of DTs DA has favored. Its kind of amazing he never had someone over 6' 2" - that's a pretty specific taste. Good info, thanks.

Not sure if McDonald fits DA style, but he is big, powerful and can penetrate with tackles for loss. After a little research, DA never had guys bigger than 310-320 or over 6'2". With all the DL signings, a depending in Turners position, I see the Bears drafting 1 DT. Dexter survived early FA, but I would count him out from being traded. He doesn't fit the profile and has no get off. I seen a former Bears scout say look who they drafted and signed for profiles they will be targeting. Makes sense. Also, if the Bears are linked to a player, its smoke.

Good draft. I'm kinda liking the one I did as well. It didn't like me picking a receiver in the late 3rd, but I like his blazing speed.

A lot of these names keep coming up for me too. Especially Haulcy, and one of the three centers that are clustered there. Hecht, Slaughter and Lew. I also agree I dont think Kayden McDonald will be there at 25, but he'd make an excellent pick if he is.

This will shake up the draft among the DTs. https://www.profootballrumors.com/2026/03/caleb-banks-underwent-surgery-on-broken-foot#ref=home

Smith at CB as well. Crazy how Wright would've been CB5, and ended up being CB2 all year.

I know the book on Jacas, and if that's all i knew, id agree with you guys. And Im not trying to change your minds either. Im just saying, I saw his film, and he is better than is being said in the normal outlets, just like Loveland. No one has to agree, and maybe in time ill change my mind, but right now, i think he could be the pick.

I think a CB falling that Bears like is a real probability and I easily could see them selecting said player. It is a big need given Stevenson was in doghouse for a while and the 3 best DBs on team all missed substantial time (JJ, Kyler and Smith). I also think I wouldn’t be shocked if Bears went WR earlier than we think. If a player Ben likes is there I could easily see them go back to that well (ala Luther) with one of the 2nd rounders. I don’t think they would do it at 25 and as you mentioned in that scenario I think trade down offers would be good. Re: safety the Toledo safety would pair nice with Bryant too. Physical. Penn States safety would be great in 2nd round. Really wish we had that extra 3rd!

I think he's a good player but he’s not worth 25 overall. I’d be happier with Thieneman who at least has Pro Bowl type talent. Jacas will just be a good DE and before that I prefer to add a good DT where our need is greater. I saw someone throw out a what-if scenario if a top WR falls to us. A top CB? In those cases I’m thinking trade down because someone will want to trade up. However a top CB might be tempting.

He reminds me a bit of Alex Brown - good solid player, but I fear doesn’t have the high end tools to be an impact player. With one of our 2nd rounders, heck yeah, but at 25 I think I’d rather go with one of the 3T options, trade back (maybe to get your guy Jacas but at a better spot) or grab a DB/Safety where I think we can get an impact player if they do it right.
