    Mock Drafts

Absolutely. Combine + Pro days will shift this. I do remember Darnell Wright on the radar pretty early.
  3. Since DA will be here for a long time, I think they only draft scheme fit players in the draft. My first 4 picks I want 2 DTs, a DE and OT. Let them figure out who best fits and give value at that spot. I think they bring in Ss and LBers in free agency. I also think he acquires more picks for other positions.
  4. Can someone direct me to the actual offer Indiana is proposing for the bears. I'm not jumping to conclusions on what that is until I see it. What the bears are asking Illinois is to improve the infrastructure around the stadium and give them a break on the insane tax bill proposed. Arlington racetrack was paying 20 million a year in taxes. The bears tore the structure down and they were told that had to pay 200 mil a year on raw land. They asked for it to stay the same until the structure was complete and then for a fair assessment. With the added revenue that will be brought in, it more than justfly the bonds that would be put out to pay for the infrastructure. The reduction in the tax bill is future income for the state and not taken money from their coffers. The Arlington project would already be underway if the government didn't try to make a cash cow on raw land while under construction. The bears then decided to leverage a better deal by looking at Indiana. Pro Football is a business and the bears are acting like a business. I'm going to still be a bear's fan where ever it ends up.
  5. I wont argue the offsetting sales and entertainment taxes collected, it sounds like you have a political point of view on it, so I'll just respect you and not argue that. I'm no tax expert, that's for sure. One thing I DO know is that out of all of professional sports, the team that pays the most property taxes for their stadium each year is the LA Rams, and they pay $9 Million annually. Under current Illinois law, the Bears would be expected to pay $100 to $200 Million in property taxes each year from the stadium they plan to build in Arlington Heights. That's insane, and obviously not reasonable. If the Bears have to move to avoid that, I think people can understand it. However, I don't believe that is the final word at all. I think Illinois will lower that to something more reasonable in line with all the other sports stadiums around the country. I still expect the Bears to end up in Arlington Heights, but they won't be paying $100 Million or even $20 Million a year in property taxes.
  6. It would be a big win to get one of those 3 DTs. I think they surprise us with an edge rusher and take a guy like Harold Perkins Jr LSU. He is similiar size to Micah Parson. Played edge his freshman year and tore it up, then moved to off ball LB.
  7. Save this for April, so we can compare...

  10. You just made the moderators laugh with your butthurt plea. "please tell mongo to leave me alone, because I'm red assed 😭😭". πŸ€£πŸ€£πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ Governor Braun did an interview with one of your networks. Look it up and you'll see how this benefits Indiana. I'm the meantime, go throw a hissy fit back the asylum. Hoosier Daddy...πŸ€ͺ Sexy!
  11. site moderators: i am not going to continue baiting the village idiot after this post, but some things need to be said for those who get their information on how the world works by staring at their cell phone and what it tells them is reality whether it is based on facts and/or common sense or not. 1. for any living being with a brain living in indiana... the state politicians are proposing spending 2-5 BILLION dollars, or a good portion thereof, on a stadium for a billion dollar NFL franchise that is too cheap to build their own unless the state gives them tax breaks no average tax payer would get. hmmmm.... so how does that work? what goes with this building the stadium? it's not free money that indiana is printing, it's what the people/taxpayers of indiana will have to pay for... building not just the actual stadium structure cost, but buy the land (which isn't included supposedly in the 2-5 billion dollar cost), new roads, maintenance costs after the fact, transportation restructure such as airports or train to get to and from the stadium, security such as police and fire protection and probably much, much more. just with these costs alone, you could easily add another billion or two to the taxpayers burden. obviously the mccaskey family won't be paying for it with higher taxes so that leaves your average business and home owner in your state to foot the bills they won't pay. so where does this money come from? normal state expenditures for schools, road maintenance and infrastructure repair. rising costs of security costs for fire and police, normal costs to run an entire state. just how much in the black is indiana's coffers? i wonder how much more the average indiana taxpayer has to pay for this over the next 10-15 years? who is paying the bill? where is that money coming from? how much will this increase your tax burden? you are running your mouth about (and i quote) "Indiana is using it as an investment". show me your hard facts in dollars and cents how this investment works. show me the real money that is gained by your state. it should be not hard to find as you can use your colts, SOMEWHAT, as a springboard for this so called investment (although indianapolis is the LARGEST city in the state and it's capital so what is hammond contributing to the total influx of state money)? explain it in black and white what the actual cost is per citizen and put it on a voters ballot then let's see how happy the citizens are with this proposal. so who is really making the money besides the mccaskey family? the large corporations and realestate developers in indiana. the construction companies building all the crap involved including building roads and so on. the realestate investors selling the lands for the stadium and land used for all the upgrading of the infrastructure. the mega rich hotel magnets and the actual politions who for sure will be getting kickbacks and campaign contributions from the mega rich/corporations. all this at the expense of indiana taxpayers who some don't seem smart enough to pour piss out of their own boots. also, when this nfl franchise decides the stadium is old and they need another new one who pays for that if they even STAY in that state? "It's not the McCaskeys this time." are you freaking kidding? this BILLION dollar franchise owned by a mega rich family has not even paid to build ONE single stadium in the entire time the NFL has been in existence!!! they have used the state of illinois and the city of chicago along with renting out an existing structure from bill wriggley to create a cheap venue to play in all the while increasing their brand and the value of their team. yet they are so cheap they don't want to pay NORMAL tax structures to build one in illinois to help their actual fan base that created their entire value. 2. poor you. cry me a freaking river. the state and the city you hate so much (and the people who live there) built this freakin franchise. i don't remember indiana being involved in anything other that a place for another piece of garbage franchise to screw it's original citizens and fans by giving them a cheap place to move to.
  12. Exactly. Dam, just get a stadium for my Bears, and, BTW, I'm a Hoosier and I'd love it.
  13. from what i have read and what is out there for information in regards to facts, you are wrong on nearly every thing you sited. 1. Contrary to claims that stadiums generate additional revenue or create new jobs, study after study has found that the construction of a new athletic facility has little to no positive impact on local economies. One economist estimated that the contribution of a professional baseball team is similar to that of a β€œmid-sized department store,” while a professional football franchise β€œhas even less” of an economic impact.8 Some studies found that publicly funded stadium projects have a detrimental economic impact on the surrounding area.9 The negative impact is magnified when municipalities choose to spend money on a stadium rather than public needs. https://www.cagw.org/fields-of-failure-the-scandal-of-taxpayer-funded-stadiums/ 2. This is an issue because, to an extent people may not realize, stadiums are not automatic cash grabs. Sporting venues "do not come close to generating enough economic activity to pay back the public investment involved in building them," said The Atlantic. This is especially true when they are "coupled with lease agreements that funnel revenue back to owners or allow teams to play in the stadiums rent-free. But "stadiums don't actually do these things," said The Atlantic. Especially for outdoor venues, the "jobs they create are seasonal and low-wage" and they "tend not to increase commercial property values or encourage much in the way of economic activity, besides a bit of increased spending in bars and restaurants surrounding the venue β€” which is mostly being substituted for dollars that were previously being spent elsewhere."" https://theweek.com/sports/taxpayer-subsidized-stadiums this is corporate welfare at it's worst. cities/states and their taxpayers are paying billions of dollars to shore up a multi billion dollar corporation in the NFL and each mega rich billionaire individual franchise. this ALSO generates federal taxes that would normally be collecting revenue which now they are exempt from tax free bond ventures. like i said before, there is no law for them not to move anyplace they want to go. just leave the name where you got it and let the suckers that want to give up their taxpayers money to billionaires reap what they sow.
  14. Every single sports stadium is taxed WAY less than the going rate for property tax? Why? Because it generates sales and entertainment taxes for the state far in excess of what a hotel on that land would. Its not corporate welfare, its an investment for the state that pays itself back and then some. I dont begrudge you your feelings about this, you have every right to them, and like I said, i think all of this is all really just leverage to get it right for Arlington Heights. But if they do move to Hammond (they wont) it wouldnt be the end of the world, or anything like the Browns situation. I cited the Jets and Giants as an example of having a stadium nearby in another state but still using the original state's name, that's all.
  15. Something to remember is that when Warren was with Minnesota there was talk of the Vikings leaving Minneapolis (possibly for LA of all places) when they were working to secure their new stadium in early 2012. Evidently the approval vote for the city to help in the cost and stay in Minneapolis occurred on the 11th hour. https://www.cbsnews.com/news/vikings-clear-final-hurdle-to-get-new-stadium/#:~:text=The House passed it overnight, the best for this state." I also saw a recent social media post that said McCaskey was getting a bit irritated with the process taking longer than it should be for this to be finalized. And that Warren was mentioned as reason for his ire. Although some of the corroborating stories appear to originate from back in December.
  16. 😭😭😭. So they are screwing Illinois by leaving and screwing Indiana by arriving. Ol George must be running around like a two petered puppy. Get this through your thick skull; Indiana is using it as an investment. That's what well run states do. You call us a crap state, but Illinois is shrinking and we are growing. Hell, half of your state tried to secede to Indiana last election. Maybe you should use your diatribes to affect change with the morons that run Chicago and your state. It's not the McCaskeys this time. I can't wait for them to build in Indiana. Chicago is a great and beautiful city, but is a huge money trap. You can't even park at a hotel for less than $100. If we want to see the Cubs, we go to Cincinnati. We can get lower level seats, hotel, parking and dinner for less than a Cubs ticket.
  17. Dang, that's harsh. The Colts will always be my second team. Thanks for your valuable input.
  18. 1. so what? you believe closer justifies any franchise team leaving their home venue because some neighboring crap state will throw their taxpayers under the bus and bribe the franchise into screwing the taxpayers in the original state or leave? fine, then let them leave the franchise name where they came from just like baltimore did with the browns. chicago keeps the name chicago bears for the next franchise expansion and indiana can have the hammond hemroids or the hammond hamsters for all i care. they deserve the mccaskey family. 2. how are the jets and giants any different? just because they have been doing it longer? they screwed the state that conceived them and supported them so the mega rich owners can get richer. these aren't some mom and pop businesses but multi BILLION dollar corporations owned by millionaire/billionaires who want to squeeze the average taxpayers into paying for their business expenses, build them new stadiums and rework the city/state infrastructure at tax payer expense to accommodate them. why should they get tax breaks you or i wouldn't get? cause they are richer? corporate welfare seems alive and well.
  19. follow the colts then. while you're at it, do the world a favor and never leave the state of indiana.
  20. I heard Greg Gabriel say that George has already called the NFL administration about this matter. Not sure where he got that but he's worked in those offices before. He must have some connections.
  21. I seen this many times but this is the first I noticed Grady Jarrett saying " oh my God,oh my God, what the fu** was that". https://www.facebook.com/share/r/183DjgFhR9/
  22. Biggs mentioned today combine would be where the Bears would maybe ask about the picks. Biggs is super connected and he didn’t want to get Bears fans hopes up but figured fact he said it meant he heard they were at least going to try. Would be big to get those picks.
  23. I dont think the Bears can lose him this year. They would need to use cap to replace him. If the Bears were bottom dwellers, take the deal. But we are in the grasp to compete for it all and already over the cap. I would only do it for a decent 2nd and gamble Caleb stays healthy.

    Rumors

My interpretation of what the Bears M.O. is that they will do what's best for Bears/Bagent on close to equal terms. I'm guessing a third and fifth rounder or favorable player swap would occur. It would be around the value of the Matt Hassleback trade.
  25. I hate the thought, unless a decent 2nd is offered and if Arz, it would be. They need someone to step in if needed with little or no drop off. I expect Bagent has grown under BJ like Caleb did.
  26. What I find hilarious is the anti Indiana snobbery from the Illinais. The same thing happened my freshman year at IU. Chicagoans talked so much shit. My simple question was, "why are you here then"? Crickets chirped. The fan base is what it is and once they stop crying, they'll be back...
  27. My hope is McDonald and another DT, a DE, S and LT. Who we add in FAgency will alter where we pick those players. There is usually LBers and Ss that can be found in FAgency. Edwards, Byard came here that way. Draft DL and OL.
