Ben Johnson is calling his worst game as a Bear.

Ugh, fumble at the goal line. Vikings came in a little hungrier. Bears better start going with the division on the line.

I suspected today’s game would be similar to how things went for GB last week against Minny. However I didn’t think the Bears would already have 53 yards in penalties (30 by Bradbury alone?) and -1 on the TO ratio. Thankfully the Bears have been a second half team even after last week against Carolina. Still, probably not going to see more than 30 pts from them…

Ball wasn't slick on Bush. It hit his shoulder pad before his hands.

With a high snap on Wentz and through his hands as evidence. 😊👍

Devin Bush should have made that pick/int. You can tell the ball is slick with the rain. Like seeing BJ using the run game and if we could stop holding, we would be looking better.

And JJ with really no effort on a near TD. Thankfully the rook was there to bail him out.

Stevenson is terrible. Should have been a pick...

Indoor vs outdoor team here. And most everyone who started out injured on Monday had full participation on Friday, including Trapilo.

Kyler Gordon
I knew that he couldnt practice with the team yet, but he could still work out with Bears trainers.

Windy and rainy. Looks like a bad weather game. It may not make a difference but that should favor the home team and the better rushing team, both in the Bears' favor.

This Could Be The MVP
This week will be a big test. He has struggled against Flores defenses in his career. I want to see him throw into the blitz and make Flores pay for all of the exotic. Take the easy wins Caleb and the big plays will come in this game.

Kyler Gordon
Kyler is liked by his teammates - this whole thing is frustrating but he is clearly working at this point and hopefully the new approach will end up working on the soft tissue issue and we get a baller for the next few years starting in a few more weeks. All Indications seem to be pointing to him returning to practice in next 2-3 weeks.

This Could Be The MVP
At this point regardless how the season goes the fact we have a QB who has entered the MVP discussion feels like a small miracle.

Kyler Gordon
A little edit to my earlier comment. It seems that latest video is from a DB coach not Dr Moe. That indicates Kyler is working with a variety of people to help him get back. I think that’s a good thing. At this time he’s not allowed to practice with the Bears but clearly he is already doing DB drills. His practice window with the team can open as soon as next week. The earliest he can play is week 5. Cautiously optimistic.

Kyler Gordon
This is some high level foolishness on Kyler Gordon's part. You cant even figure he wants to be on another team, since we are primed to make a run AND they just paid him. If he's trying to BS everyone and just not play again and keep the money, then Ok thats despicable but it MIGHT make sense. But anything else points to Gordon being a real dummy. Like a moron of epic proportions. His only chance is to rejoin the team and play SO well that they decide they love him anyway. And Im not sure Ben Johnson can overlook something like this. For example DJ Moore was a much smaller problem, and much more productive on the field, and HE'S in Buffalo. So Kyler - leave this phony, come back to the team. Tell them youre stupid and this guy fooled you. Tell them youll never ignore their advice again. And then go dominate on the field. You might STILL not be a Bear for long, but at least then SOMEONE would take you. What a moron.

Kyler Gordon
I’ll wait until I see him doing that on an NFL practice field with his team and not on some kids soccer field. If he’s that capable it’s hard to understand why he can’t do that with his team.

This Could Be The MVP
I hope so, old Bears deserve to see a great QB once in their lives. Seen the SB, want more but also want to see them be the highlight reel for once. Already seeing commercials with Walker and Monangai, so much fun.

I'm just going to preserve this and track this thread as we go through the year.

I'll be very curious to see what they do on defense because right now I feel like Caleb and Ben have an answer for anything they want to try. If they stack the middle for both pressure and to stop the run, we can seal the edge well with any of our TEs and run off that. I listened to a couple interviews with Pete Bercich and his recommendation is just that: Stack the middle, put someone right on the nose, and then work the A gaps off Bradbury. Or pass off that with quick outlet passes on WR screens. Harrison Smith is back but he's on a snap count for age related reasons. Behind him it appears both safeties are bit suspect in their tackling and coverage abilities. Overall Bercich expressed a lot of concern about the number of weapons the Bears have, the running game and was complimentary of Swift and Monangai. On a side note: Caleb has received a lot of criticism for a couple plays and Bercich echoes those same sentiments implying they can take advantage of them. The first play early in the game where Raymond came open late around the hash marks but Caleb had bailed the pocket and then threw the deep ball to Rome for that amazing catch. Bradbury was getting beat at that time and a DT had a straight shot at Caleb. This is exactly what Bercich is suggesting the Vikings exploit. FWIW I agree, Bradbury is our worst Olineman, even more of a problem than Jones at LT. While the mis-read is correct, the counterpoint is you still have to contain Caleb outside the pocket. The other criticism so many have highlighted is where he missed Loveland on a crosser late in the game and threw the checkdown the Monangai. I simply don't care if Caleb checks down multiple times and we keep getting 20-25 yard gains. Except we all know that sooner or later he will hit Loveland on that over route for the 25-30 yard gain.
