  1. Past hour

  2. In the ‘positive news’ department; Caleb and Gordon were listed as FULL participants for today’s practice.
  3. Thanks for that. Couldn’t help but notice about halfway down the article the author mentioned “Gervon Dexter and D’Marcus Walker could face more attention from opposing offensive lines.” I know Dexter is gone but isn’t Walker too?
  4. Did someone in the front office slip him a ruffee? Seems like a blessing to be able to go big on a Max Crosby or another top Edge. As for this year, I do not see the Bears cutting mid season without a reliable replacement.
  5. Today

  7. Maybe an Adam or you question, or anyone keen on how NFL contracts work. Read yesterday that because of this incident the Bears aren’t tied to any of his contract “guarantees” anymore. Meaning, or at least the way I understood it, he could be expendable next year at low risk to the team.
  8. 🤣🤣🤣
  9. The Bears are appealing the 2 game suspension and trying to extend it to 6 games.
  10. Could be worse. Look at the Rams and they have Pro Bowl players all over their roster Dexter is absolutely not playing like a pro Bowl player. I’ve watched two Falcons games. Why I don’t really know. In both games I almost never heard his name called and I was trying to find him on the field. Nether could my sons who watched the last game with me. He seems to be a situational player or just part of a rotation. He makes a play he every now and then like he did in Chicago but I see nothing that says his contract will age well. Penix loves to throw to London. Baltimore tried to cover him with a zone and failed. Bijan is incredible. Every time he was on the field Baltimore just run blitzed and shut him down. We would do well to follow that. Atlanta’s second and third level run defense is shaky. Get past the Dline and you can often get good gains even some chunk plays.
  11. Shemar Turner took his roster spot. Hopefully he’s ready to play.
  12. If theres a plus to this, it is the Bears get 2.6 million added to the cap that won'tbe paid to Sweat.
  13. Yesterday

  14. Saw something pop up about his injury recovery being more like 4-6 months as if it was a new update. Has his status changed from what we previously knew? Penix is currently “day to day” with his rib injury. He says he’ll be ready for week 6. There’s definitely a different level of play when he’s in vs Tua. Of course Bijan is having a massive year so yeah…
  15. This season is close to being a wash. Murphy is kicking their butt. Monsoon loss, Bryant injury, Caleb injury, Gordon recovery, now Sweat suspension. JJ and Stevenson playing below replacement level. They trade Dexter and he is playing at a PB level. Bagent looking like a CFL backup. With all of that going wrong somehow they are 3-2.
  16. Out for two games for using PEDs. Some will say he must’ve been getting the placebo and didn’t know it. 🤷‍♂️ https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/50176333/bears-de-sweat-suspended-two-games-violating-ped-policy
  17. I’d dial Them up too watching Tyson looking completely lost. We won two out of three games with our backup QBs. I’m taking my ball and going home and calling it a day.
  18. Losing record in division. Winning record everywhere else. It seems that Ben dials up a solid offense against other opponents, but does weird shit in division. Is this his tell? The expected is, set up everything through play action equals success. Why does that not occur in divisional games? Is it frequency and familiarity? It is it, they think we'll do this, so I'll do that? Part of me thinks the latter, because why would you dial up so many reverses and jet sweeps? Sunday was weird...
  19. Last week

  20. Agree with everything you said. Missed chatting in the thread yesterday, maybe a good thing, LOL I just hope if we do a trade, two things: Fair price paid Not a 1-year rental. I want someone who has some tread left on his tires.
  21. Alright - lets get some guys back healthy and lets see the team reset and lock in. Let's get our starting QB back, lets hopefully get our nickel back Gordon here, and lets hopefully see Shemar Turner back too and see if over time he can make an impact. Let's also see the offense get back to the little things as well. I am sure Dillon will learn from some things too. I do think we may see the Bears make a trade here to upgrade the defense. Khalil Mack has been rumored, but I wonder if we see a more splash move happen on the dline (or at DB).
  22. Yeah they suddenly become very one dimensional with Penix out. We’d probably be in big trouble if he were to play. Meanwhile the our opponent for the following week, NE, put a big hurt on LV yesterday in their solid win. It appears Maye has figured out whatever was ailing him early on. We’ll need to have our collective ducks in a row to do well in that one.
  23. We might catch a break next week because Penix couldn’t finish the game tonight due to a rib injury. It didn’t look serious in the game but it bothered him enough that he couldn’t throw.
  24. I’m not that down on this team. I definitely think the 89 plays took some of the life out of our Oline. That is no excuse for Bagent but it affected the running game. There were lanes but Roschon can’t make a cut to save his life. Caleb will being to life our passing game outside the numbers.
  25. Well they won’t be able to do like last year and come from behind to win a majority of their games. They need to play like they did against Carolina and stick with it. That day the defense wasn’t quite up to par but since then they’ve made some improvements. Remember today they lost three of their starters and kept getting put in bad positions because of the repeated turnovers. And still they were in it until late in the game. when Caleb returns the offense will look better overall. I'm just hoping he doesn’t feel like he needs to run out of the pocket every time. They can be a great offense. Until today they were leading in many categories, and that was with their #2 and #3 QBs.
  26. Hard to believe in them to be a playoff team right now. All these supposedly high end playmakers are a shell of expectations. How much do they improve with Caleb, Trapillo, Monangai, Gordon, etc, will be our saving grace.
  27. This game reminds me a lot of last years shellacking in Detroit on week 2 (52-21 loss). Think Johnson had a bit of a chip on his shoulder to beat his old mentor and was sent packing. Here he had an axe to grind with LeFleur and lost focus on strategy. Good thing was after last years 0-2 start he began making wiser choices and the team followed suit. Hopefully we’ll see the same here. Atlanta is definitely a team on the rise.
  28. Honestly I feel the Bears would have still lost even with Caleb in. Would’ve been closer but still a loss. Everything was just ‘off’. Agree that Johnson needs to focus more on the games and less on making locker room motivation.
