  1. Past hour
  2. I wish our starters had been going against Buffalos starters. I mean fast reads are fast reads no matter whos out there, but Id have liked to see the OL against the 1st team d line for sure.
  3. Caleb might have thrown it a little short, Im not sure. Not saying he did, just need to see it again myself.
  4. Not much more you can ask from Caleb. He got Buffalo to jump to make it a manageable 3rs down then throws a solid ball to Odunze (away from defender) who drops it. Special Teams is still concerning, bad kickoff return by Scott and now Taylor sails the punt for a touchback. I don't know why he is not angling it to the pylons.
  5. Dunno why Odunze missed the 3rd down catch - maybe it was Caleb, tape will tell, but I do like how fast the ball is coming out.
  6. Thuney isnt playing but the rest of the OL is in there. We are going to see a lot of passes over the middle , TEs are back to being part of the offense.
  7. kick coverage sucked again. need to get that fixed, but the offense and defense look good and fired up too. love the in-rhythm passes by Caleb.
  8. Wow that was about of an impressive drive as you could have expected. Dumb play by Scott on the kickoff but the offense looked really crisp. Then the defense smothers the Bills to force a 4th and 19.
  9. no kidding, and at least so far, Braxton looked really good. Its amazing how just getting under center opens up the middle of the field.
  10. GREAT first drive, and while I wasnt only looking at him, Jones seemed to be very strong that set. Nice.
  11. Yesterday
  12. We say the floor is Braxton, but it's not Braxton's best year, it's Braxton right now, after injury and looking weaker. Maybe as he heals he plays stronger than ever - then that would be the new floor, and a good one. My point is our floor right now (as of last game) aint good at all. Theyve had a week, so now tonight they get another chance to define themselves and show production. We also get to see the starting interior players for the first time, not to mention Caleb and the rest. Very excited to see what progress weve made and what the starters look like. I hope we come out looking prepared and crisp.
  13. Looks like Jaylon Johnson was spotted pregame doing some light work. That is a great sign for Week 1 availability. Kmet also working out, so he more than likely won't play in the game.
  14. Its all about perspective, they state Josh only had one interception, he had 3.

    Battle at LT

BJ is demanding excelence so our first assumption is everyone has been terrible. Truth may be somewhere inbetween. I think he is pushing Wright, not necessarilly trying to replace him. I think Ozzy looks more comfortable at the RT spot. I think he is seeing him as being the swing T for backup to both spots. Jones clearly is not playing well but Theo has been consistent so he gave him some reps at LT. Let the best T win.
  16. Last week
  17. This is what I think too. Wright will be fine, but I hope he will be dominant.
  18. The inverse with that - on the LT side - I think at bet they are seeing mediocre play at this point - and at times the mediocre slides to bad. I think they are also sending a message here - but it is different than the Wright message. They are trying to see who can raise the floor - for a lack of a better term - and also I think trying to push and rebuild Jones to try and find a bar that is at another level than he previously played at while also trying to coach up depth and see how much they can push Trapillo to see where he is…but Jones is the only one of the current 3 with the pure tools you want at LT. But having been hurt - he hasn’t been able to put on the strength they need him to do and that will take time. Its pretty clear he will ultimately be the starter - but I think they are setting a bar to make ish him to put in all the work and than do same thing in between games etc. It’s clear technique is being emphasized heavily too.
  19. Agree - I also think the comments on Wright are to send a message and try to get him to reach elite talent level. He is a good to ok RT and has shown it - but he hasn’t been great despite having the tools. I think he got comfy with the softness in standards from previous regime and than he showed up taking things for granted. It isn’t that he has been bad at camp - it’s that the oline coach thinks he can be great and expects that - and not just some of the time - all of the time. The great ots are great because they play with that high level consistency ALL the time.
  20. Play action is the number one way to slow a pass rush. The defenders can't go until they determine the runner doesn't have the ball. It also allows the offensive lineman to initiate immediate contact. It's where Goff made his money last year. It also plays to the strengths of the right side and our 12 personnel mismatch. Don't get me started if we develop a read option package. That would an immediate advantage, as it was not something Goff could do.
