  1. Past hour
  2. Dart reminds me of a rawer / younger Josh Allen. Interesting Daboll is currently linked to him.
  3. Yeah our guys are dropping balls hitting both hands with sticky gloves.
  4. So frustrating watching other teams catch everything in sight while our receivers can't make the simplest adjustment to help out their quarterback.
  5. I cleared out all the cache, that seems to work so far.
  6. true on all accounts. the ball is likely very hard today, not so easy to grip, especially as hands and the ball are slippery too. But yes, Caleb is getting the ball out fast today.
  7. Like Olsen said I think he’s right in that most teams will go for it when in that 45-45 yard zone and short yardage to go. Especially when most defenses are struggling like both the Giants and Bears are. Chicago looks balmy to me. It’s 19F / -9C where Im at. 🥶
  8. Both of those end zone catches were difficult. The screen was a knuckle ball. The one to the back was an easy catch. Caleb looks good so far 😃
  9. Kmet gets an assist on that block. Fantasy Football should add a category for good blocks.
  10. Greg Olsen is probably one of the best if not the best color commentators currently. We should have never traded him. 🤣
  11. It must be a requirement to call these plays to be a Bears coach because it has been a pkay we cringe no matter what year or coach. Has it worked at all over the last 15 years?
  12. Shocked the Giants went on 4th there. Dumb decision for me. It should give the Bears a good chance of putting points on the board. Looks a bit cold in the windy city.
  13. I feel (hope) a big game by Sewell today. How will the hyphen twins do? Is the newest one playing?
  14. Can we just take the WR bubble screen off the play card? I don't know what the fascination is with this play but it rarely gains anything and almost always ends up as a near INT, incompletion or loss of yards.
  15. Today
  16. Giants have a lively front 7 but they have given up 105 points over their last 3 games. Only 6 TOs in 9 games. They have the second worst rushing defense in the league. They are w/o their top rusher and WR. Dart has some game but not enough to overcome a team that will run for over 200 yds and hold the majority of time on the clock. They have problems with their kicker. All of this tells me we will win 31-14. I think both Monangai and Swift will combine for over 200 total yds today. Caleb wont have big yds because of the weather but will have a high % throwing a short passing game. Moore and Loveland will both standout.
  17. Yesterday
  18. windows 8.1 i had the same problem as you. couldn't access the site. spent about a day and a half trying to figure it out. finally found a link that a solution was DNS server. changed that am back in business. also the ad blocker supreme works. here is the DNS link: https://www.widgetbox.com/dns-server-not-responding-fixed/
  19. I agree. We are right there sniffing the playoffs, but at the same time, we dont have the pass rush to really match up to playoff teams. I expect that to be addressed this offseason, and then the window really opens next year. So yeah if we are expecting to be a contender next year, we ought to be at least sniffing the playoffs. In my opinion its going to be close.
  20. I just watched another rerun of the Cincy game. Eight lead changes. Unbelievable. After watching this game for the third time, I was still finding myself holding my breath when Flacco threw the final pass (Hail Mary that came up short of the end zone) that was intercepted. During the actual game, the way things had gone, I was expecting him to throw another TD. I hope we win by a comfortable margin this week. We cannot expect miracle finishes to win games. We need to keep from having to pull out games with a hope and a prayer. Sooner or later, the football Gods will not grant our pleas for help.
  21. Line has slide to -4.5. The Bears can't lose at home to this Giants team without Skattebo. Hopefully the weather holds up and doesn't become a shit show.
  22. Another way to look at it though, both Johnson and Allen have done this before as coordinators, so most of the in-game stuff is the same. Johnson has a few more responsibilities as a HC, but those are only related to challenges and timeouts, which he can get assistance from the booth on. As for players, most of the vets have playoff experience. For key contributors, most do like Swift, Thuney, Dalman, Jackson, Smythe, Jarrett, Sweat, Billings, Edmunds, CJGJ, Wright and Byard. We are now at the halfway point of the season. From most new offenses, this is when they start to become more consistent. So I think we should expect more efficient and consistent offensive output for the rest of the season. Ultimately, if the Bears can go 2-0 in the next two weeks, and both DET and GB go 1-1, the Bears control their own destiny, which is not something I expected. That would put them at 7-3 heading into the game against PIT, which is very winnable at home. Also, based on odds, that is the most likely outcome over the next two weeks. So it is not like we are reaching.
  23. of course we all want a dominant team, a top 3 QB. I dont think that putting Caleb's growth into context is excuse making exactly. It is what it is - it takes time, and we are progressing every week? That's just reasonable and the way it happens in the NFL. No one hits the ground running that isnt later exposed to have been incomplete as a player. It youre building a complete veteran top QB, there is a process, and you gotta go through it. Good news is that he seems to be making his way through the steps. But yes, next year it is what it is, and patience will be much shorter. I cant wait for that either.
  24. It would be great if we could reach a point where posts on this forum celebrating accomplishments far outnumber those pointing out failures or offering excuses for poor performance. If BJ can do that in his first year as Bears' HC, it would be amazing.
  25. Last week
  26. We are currently sniffing the playoffs - that puts everything in our own hands. I don't think this team is ready for any kind of run, mostly because of the lack of pass pressure. And i think that will become more evident when we play some of the better teams coming up on the schedule. But if this season was for Caleb and Johnson, then I think next season playoff expectations are fair. We have to get the defense right this coming offseason. I'm enjoying this developmental year, and Im seeing the markers i felt I needed to see for this year to be a success. I want to see us upset one of those good teams too, if possible. I expect Caleb to keep growing and be a better QB in week 17 than he is now, which is miles better than week 1 was. But next year - it's go time, and I expect us to start winning a bunch of games. I will be less patient with Caleb and everyone, and start to expect results. That's gonna be fun.
  27. That is still funny to me, but there is a path in the next two weeks. This week, assuming DET beats WSH, CHI beats NYG and GB loses to PHI. That would slide DET into 1st in the DIV, tied with the Bears but holding the H2H tiebreaker. Regardless of the outcome of any other games, the Bears would also be locked into the 6th Seed either between SF and LAR or LAR and GB, depending on the winner of the LAR @ SF game. Now here is where it gets spicy. Week 11, if the Bears can beat the Vikings and go to 7-3, DET is playing in PHI, which PHI should be favored. Just say DET loses, they fall to 6-4, GB should beat NYG and move to 6-3-1. That would put the Bears in 1st at 7-3, GB in 2nd, and DET in 3rd. The odds of this happening are actually quite high, considering all outcomes.
  28. It is also hard to compare Williams rookie year with this year or anyone else's rookie year. The more you look at what occurred around him, it is amazing what he was able to accomplish under so much duress.
