  2. well for better or worse, we stuck to best player available. that means we may have missed on critical positions, but it also means our draft value is maximized, and we get good scores, especially when we trade down for more picks. That'll help the draft grade. But does it do right by the team is the argument. And that goes both ways too.
  3. Before things happen, there is speculation which is often crazy, and leaks which are manipulations. Sometimes there is actual information too, but it is usually identified in ways like "internal sources say" and then you have to evaluate whether that's a clickbait liar, or a real reporter. Like for example if Adam Schefter or Ian Rappaort say it, it's probably true. And a guy like Erik Lambert says all kinds of crap, but he doesnt claim its an actual leak. And usually he is just reposting what someone else said on Twitter, and a lot of THAT is contradictory and BS. But if he DOES claim its actual info, it could be a total lie.
  4. This draft class drew high praise and graded the 3rd best. We have had different opinions, but to think of the weapons added you can only imagine how fun Sundays can become. https://www.si.com/nfl/bears/news/chicago-bears-receive-elite-grade-for-2025-draft-class-from-nfl-rankings
  5. I just noticed where we are more interested in JK Dobbins, and also we inquired with Seahawks on the availability of Walker Jr. Everybody is so full of it.
  6. Today
  7. no problem, just whoever we like best can be had for a pretty cheap one year deal, if we need them
  8. I hope he does, but he will have a possible rising star on his heals and both contracts will be up in 4 years. He has a year of experience to jump start these next 4 years that might be the "greatest show on sod". Poles will have his work cut out in those coming days to manage the cap. Draft picks will become more important to maintain the talent when they can no longer pay everyone.
  9. GB - Key Acquisitions: Banks (65.4), OG, Hobbs (61.4), CB Top Draft Picks: Golden, Belton, Williams Biggest losses: T.J. Slaton (DT), Josh Myers (C), AJ Dillon (RB) Wild Card: How many near INTs from Love will turn into actual INTs? SOS: 23rd Summary: No change (Golden replaces Watson) I can see it now, Love throwing his lucky moon shots and Golden being the recipient. The NFL did a great job building the rival hype and I expect to see the Bears open at Lambeu Field for Sunday Night Football.
  10. He reminds me of a slower Rutger, Isiah Pacheo, who ran 4.36 compared to Monangai 4.6, (Roschon 4.58). The stat that stands out is their 10 yd splits, Monangai is 1.54, Pacheco 1.55. D Henderson and Roschon had 1.52. He will hit the gap and get his 5 yds. He may also get swallowed up at the LOS or break a tackle for 20. Roschon is a bigger back, 6' 210. Kyle 5-8" 210. Kyle's profile allows him to slip tackles and he has great balance with a lower center of gravity. Let's not look past Ian Wheeler 5-11 210 and ran 4.39. He can pass pro and can take it to the house. The RB stable has some horses and it will be interesting to see the 53 man come fall.
  11. I believe so. I knew very little about anyone we picked but been watching all the tape I can find on our draftees and I get it. Monangai is an excellent compliment to Swift. Pass blocks well and NO fumbles. That's a good prospect to be hopeful for.

    Nick Chubb?

Looks like Chubb may be a done deal soon, either 1 year $6 or $8M per Internet rumor mill.
  13. He’s a better player than Roschon Johnson.
  14. Monangai highlights against a stout Ohio State game in 2023 https://youtu.be/XxwrQ1WMe3M?si=zUmNALBfsVSOPKs3
  15. I think they all drop off some as we got a lot better. Detroit/ new coaches, GB/ love not getting better, Minnesota/ new QB,
  16. This season will be the true test of the value of a coaching staff and scheme. The Bears with the same roster as last year should've won 2-3 more games with just better coaching. If you add the roster differences between last year and this year, that change should double. No team made more roster upgrades than the Bears, and they technically made more upgrades than all the other teams in the division combined. CHI - Key Acquisitions: Thuney (80.0), OG, Jackson (67.6), OG, Dalman (78.8), C, Jarrett (62.1), DT, Odeyingbo (66.1), DE + Ben Johnson + Dennis Allen Top Draft Picks: Loveland, Burden, Trapilo, Turner Biggest losses: Allen, Jenkins (75.4), Walker Wild Card: Brisker's health SOS: 26th Summary: Huge coaching staff upgrade, at least 8 upgrades across the roster. (+4 to +6 wins) MIN - Key Acquisitions: Allen (56.0), DT, Fries (86.9), OG, Kelly, C (67.0). Top Draft Picks: Jackson, Felton Biggest losses: Sam Darnold (80.7), Cam Bynum Wild Card: McCarthy's health and performance, how many 1 score games can they win? SOS: 28th Summary: Huge downgrade at QB, upgraded OLine (-2 to -3 wins) DET - Key Acquisitions: Reed (70.7), CB Top Draft Picks: Williams, Ratledge, Teslaa Biggest losses: Carlton Davis III (74.5), Za'Darius Smith, Kevin Zeitler (86.5) + Ben Johnson + Aaron Glenn Wild Card: Hutchinson's health is a huge question mark. There were talks about him playing in the Super Bowl if they got there, and now in May he looks like an old man. SOS: 30th Summary: Upgrade DL, downgrade OL, huge downgrade in coaching staff (-3 to -4 wins) GB - Key Acquisitions: Banks (65.4), OG, Hobbs (61.4), CB Top Draft Picks: Golden, Belton, Williams Biggest losses: T.J. Slaton (DT), Josh Myers (C), AJ Dillon (RB) Wild Card: How many near INTs from Love will turn into actual INTs? SOS: 23rd Summary: No change (Golden replaces Watson)
  17. Facts we know Johnson has a great offensive mind Caleb has top 5 potential The OL is better The offensive weapons are plentiful We question the running game but we have a better play caller, improved OL, no more 8 in a box Monangai will remind you of David Montgomery May not be day one but this offense will score points, control the ball and keep the defense off the field
  18. This guy will surprise you.
  19. Interesting tidbit: Darnell Weight played left tackle for his entire Junior year at Tennessee. He had like 13 starts there. And Trapilo played about the same number of games at left tackle in college too. Im not a fan in general of moving a guy out of a position hes playing well in, so I would be happiest if Trapilo shows promise at LT right away. But if we get into it, and it's not working, moving Wright is definitely an option. And if it works, it could be great for the future.
  20. I dont really have any limits on Burden in mind, but i think we are underrating Odunze's ceiling. They each can be major stars. Odunze is going to look a lot better this year.
  21. No one has inside information before the draft. She interviewed Jeff King (Bears director of Player Personel) and has some sources in Halas Hall that gave her insight to what happened in our draft room AFTER the draft was over. She was direct and did not condition what she said with any "I think" or similar as she does when shes predicting. She simply said, as fact, that the Bears wanted Jeanty, then the two OTs, and that Loveland was 4th on their draft list. Obviously the price to trade up was too high, and they liked Loveland. And it's easy to see why too, now that we know they were looking at TEs. I did predict a few months ago that Kmet was not as safe as he seemed. But that was based on him vs another player. I had not considered that Laporta is a totally different KIND of TE than Kmet and Johnson would want that kind to make his offense work. In fact he kind of threw us all off on that by declaring he wasnt going to run the same offense as Detriot. I took that to mean that he might use a slot receiver to do the things he used LaPorta to do. Thats why I was talking about McMillan before the draft. Now we got both. Loveland to play LaPorta, and Burden to play int he slot with a skill set similar to DJ Moores. I dont think that means they are redundant, I thinkj it means the defense is going to have its work cut out for trying to cover both, AND Odunze with Loveland running across the middle.
  22. To get Chubb you have to trade a draft pick, Williams will just be money.
  23. Stinger226

    Battle at LT

Whoever plays LT will have help from Thuney and they can scheme TEs or WRs to help chip block the DE. Also Ben will have Caleb getting the ball out quicker so I think the concerns with the position will be minimized.
  24. Yesterday
  25. Burden has a lot to learn, but if he's down for it, the sky's the limit. He has the skill set to become the Bears best WR. He could be this years Malik Nabers. I hope this puts Odunze on notice and he rises to the challenge. All of this hinges in Caleb being able to be accurate and not holding the ball too long.
  26. Actually Poles said things would start off with Trapilo at LT, and the three of them would compete. He didnt rule out moving Wright, but i think we all hope that someone emerges from the three to start at LT and Wright doesnt have to move!
