My dad was from a town in Wisconsin that had a paper mill and the smell was gross. Going back these days, its 1000 times better. Tons of properties in the state were poluted from industries and they always clean it up. IF in Indiana, its not going to be a problem.
  3. With all this talk about taxpayer cost, they fail to mention the money the Bears will make for the state. No property tax collected being in Indiana. The sale taxes, and other fees the state will collect being in AH. The amount of jobs they will produce for the state. Indiana is in a better fiscal position to do the Bears stadium but know how much income the state will bring in from the Bears. The govt still owes 500 mil on the refurbish from years ago of which the Bears paid off their debt. One of the worst run states in the union as a governing body. Personally Im a Bears fan wherever they end up granting AH would be better for me being in the Rockford area. Now they can just start the stadium in Hammond and we can end this political speak.

The only thing I'm concerned about is not Indiana, but the location in Indiana. I am familiar with the odor emitted from oil refineries. I had a job out of Houston in the early 80s and had to service clients along the Gulf. Nasty! The plans for Arlington Heights were magnificent. If built as displayed in their presentation, it would be one of the best stadium complexes in the NFL. However, that design would never work in the location being offered. The business complex, park, etc... would be out. I assume they could prevent the odor from entering the stadium and being an issue, but anything remotely like what was planned for Arlington Heights would be a failure. Heck, I had to air out my car after parking for an extended period while servicing equipment in one of the refinery offices. I wouldn't even want to park in an outdoor parking lot if the odor is as strong as I am led to believe.
  6. What a disaster. Illinois makes up a tax number which is 5 times more than any other NFL pays and the spin it on the Bears for not accepting it. The Bears want a fair tax number, some infrastructure help with roads etc, and that is it. So if they move, that tax that was never collected before goes to Indiana and Illinois saves from the infrastructure contributions the Bears asked for. Seems to me the greedy hands of Illinois are going to lose out for their greed.
  7. They bought the land in AH and then found out they were going to jack the property taxes to an outrageous price. Then Warren comes in to save the day so he checked back with the city and no one was cooperating. Then enter Indiana, a well run state. Here's where we are and it looks like a total sh** show. A poorly run state is never going to give them what they need. HELLO INDIANA
  8. Yes. Indiana has already offered more than Illinois can come up with. The family is trying to be loyal to Illinois at the cost of hundreds of millions. My loyalty would honestly end there.
  9. Yesterday
  10. The deadline is approaching and It doesnt look like the great state of Illinois cares about the Bears as much as the wonderful Governor. The Chicago Dems arent supporting the down state Dems because they think if they blow it off, the Bears will come crawling back to Chicago. I think they crawl to Indiana.

Being retired and having a lot of time on my hands I look at everything Bears at least once to see if it has value and it is repetitive. I have several I like and tune the other stuff out. Because of our past of losing regularly, I dont think we trust what is about to happen. We analyze the team and see weaknesses and yes, a lot of questions. The defense was bad last year mainly because of injuries. I think the second year in DA's system will look a lot better with some new players but improvement by people already here. BJ is a maniac and is building this team in his image. Players that love football, non stop motor, physicality and more athletic. Poles is acquiring players with those traits. Yes, he isnt perfect but no GM is . If he finds a UDFA or late round pick that becomes a starter or contributes but misses on a third rounder, its about the end result of upgrading the roster. Being an optimist, I see the maturity of Caleb and turning this into an offensive juggernaut instead of the old Bear teams of good defense and lack of offense. I trust them to fix our questions in their vision and not the pundits and fans view of the pass rush deficiency, ect. IMO we should challenge for a SB spot barring major injuries. Its not a perfect team yet but it will be good enough.

I don't have any social media accounts other than this one. I scan some of the Youtube pundits but most of that is repeatable blabber, except sometimes they highlight their source. My one best source of info is that I watch coaches and players press conferences (better than reading or listening about their comments elsewhere), and on Youtube I definitely watch many of the film breakdowns. Other than that, I might search Chicago Bears news and see if anything interesting pops up. I don't read Heavy hardly ever unless I find something useful pop up elsewhere. In which case I find the source link and post that here.

  14. The Bears do a great job on these post draft videos. It makes you feel good about the players taken and the whole scouting department working together. I am excited to watch the season play out and then the next class of talent come in.

I have a tendency to look at things that normally just pop up on my social media but that never does for some reason. AZ54 has posted stuff from that source before and it does have good content. Good article

Caleb throwing to Loveland, Burden, & Odunze. OH MY! I'm reading more and more about how Luther Burden is showing enormous progress, killing it in OTAs. In an article that was actually promoting Loveland, claiming he would challenge for All Pro this year, it went on to discuss our other emerging star, Luther. Statistics. Sometimes it can be misleading. Sometimes it can be enlightening. Here is a quote from Warren Sapp (Not a big fan of him, but as it may), giving some stats that showed just how great a rookie year he had:

Not sure how many of you are familiar with a website called "Heavy." I love that the articles are always solid, more often backed up by statistics than unfounded opinions. Today, there was another feel-good article that had any Bears fanatic dreaming of the coming season. The quarterback coach said the challenge is to get Caleb out of the big play mentality and do the simple throws. A lot of times last year he passed up an open player to try to go downfield. I think the working relationship between BJ and Caleb will end up with good results.
  19. I noticed that after the details came out and never corrected it. I dont think they are done with the investigation just yet. Publicly Available Context on the Incident Dispatch/911 audio (released or leaked): Neighbors reported yelling, screaming, and “things being thrown.” One call came from inside the home (open line, possibly male/female), and a neighbor reported the resident was assaulted. An ambulance was mentioned. Police arrived but Jacobs was not initially present. waow.com

If he could make the easy throws, just imagine what his completion % would be? More important than his Comp. %, we might actually be able to sustain drives, score in the first three quarters, give our defense a chance to get a breather, and avoid the need for Caleb to revert to the Ice Man (although it is fun to see frost on his beard).
  21. AZ54 replied to Stinger226's topic in Bearstalk
Yes. Now show me the simple quick reads for 10 yard gains.
  22. Also great to see JJ participated in full and Kyler was there as well (albeit limited).
  23. Pixote replied to Stinger226's topic in Bearstalk
I don't recall seeing this here, and too lazy to review, but it just adds to the adrenaline running through Bear fans' veins when you see something like this. I'm referring to the on-the-dime completion to Rome during Thursday's OTA @ Halas Hall, which Case Keenum says went 67 yards in the air. Not bad since Caleb was scrambling and actually threw off his back foot. ;-)
  24. Puck the Fackers!
  25. what a bunch of cheesy puffs
  26. AZ54 replied to BearFan PHX's topic in Bearstalk
Released from jail. I don’t know if he’s guilty or innocent but the cheeseheads look really stupid arresting him on 5 charges then backing off a day later saying we don’t really have all the facts to support those charges. So many ways to look at this. As far as I’m concerned go ahead and drag that investigation out all summer.
  27. I heard Jordan and Caleb worked out together near an all you can eat buffet.
  28. Jordan Love put on a little weight over the off season.
