  1. Past hour
  2. Malik Muhammad CB is our guy. We go D, but not the two for one picks (300 pounders linemen)
  3. We have one draft class with Poles and BJ, I dont live in the past it sucks to much. They scored on last years draft so I trust them. If you think they are similar to Matt and Phil, I disagree.

Yeah, I just saw that. GB taking Sutton really sucks.
  5. Packers take Dennis -Sutton, that rips my heart out. Lions take LB Jimmy Rolder. I think our division rivals are grabbing our targets to keep them off our team.
  6. I read somewhere that our team was fifth in the league in 13-personnel and that our #3 TE last year took 25% of the offensive snaps.
  7. Just read the comparisons of Zavion Thomas to Jamir Gibbs. Thomas did play RB before, so maybe he becomes our Gibbs. Put Thomas in the backfield with 12 or 13 personal and he can take a hand off, run a route and be a nightmare for opponents.
  8. I'm still shocked that we have not invested in the DL. That being said, I'm not complaining either. The draft didn't fall that way and I like the pieces they have acquired. Speed and smarts at safety. Athleticism and smarts at center. Size, athleticism and smarts at TE. Blazing speed and density with a gadget WR-RB-KR-PR. Commenting on the lack of need to a TE is ignorant. We are in 12 & 13 personnel a lot. Big boy is going get snaps. I'm trusting that DA has what he needs and/or there is a plan.
  9. Read where he doesnt like to block, but BJs no blocked no rock will have to get embedded in his head. I see him being huge on STs for field position. He might give us another Hester-esque return ability. But unlike Hester, he will also be that WR/RB gadget guy that can take the top off.
  10. I will say that Thomas is more well built than most slot speed guys. Guys like Zachariah Branch, Brendan Thompson, Eric Rivers, and Deion Burks tend to be closer to 5’8” 170, whereas Thomas is a little over 5’10” 190. That might help him hold up better in the NFL and be better equipped for any blocking duties he might have.

We paid millions to Matt Eberflus and Phil Emery too.
  12. Day 3 targets- still some good players that I thought would be taken already. Lets go Bears! DE Dani Dennis Sutton Joshua Joseph's LT Overton Anthony Lucas Nadame Tucker DT Grace Halton Demonte Capehart Rayshaun Bunny Zane Durant LB Kyle Louis Harold Perkins Kaleb Elams Orr Jimmy Rolder CB Kente Scott Malik Muhammad Devin Moore S-DB Jalen Kikgore Zakee Wheatley Kamara Ramsey Genisis Smith VJ Payne RB Mike Washington Remind Clauborne Seth McGowan

  14. I think what fans forget is everything has to fall under the Cap. This isn't fantasy football with unlimited money. It doesn't have to make sense to us but they do what they think makes us a good team. I enjoyed 12 wins last year. If we have a losing season, I will bitch as loud as you guys but for now I'm going with the flow.
  15. I think it comes down to - at end, they weren’t picking where there was a guy they said we got to get him - especially when you think about how they want to see Booker and Shemar play. At DT, there were some ok players, but no one that was disruptive that I think they said we got to go get this guy. It was more of - we added a few run stuffers in free agency and maybe they are more bullish on Dexter with a 2nd year with this new staff as he does have legit disruption ability - but the get off isn’t good enough.
  16. Both of you two are correct. They pay millions to put a scouting department and have their own board.. No offense but I trust them more than the fan base. The draft dictates our picks. They will fill needs if they don't get them in the draft. It's April.
  17. You don't have to like Poles but to say he has nothing to do with Caleb and BJ coming here is bogus. Enjoy the winning and dislike everyone, IDC.
  18. You're spot on with every point. The season will tell us if they were right.
  19. Poles explained the draft to you. They have a board and would have had to pay to much to move up and grab a DL they liked. Expected Jacas was the one and got taken 2 spots before. NE moved up to take him. That's the way the draft fell then they stuck to their board. If they don't get anyone, they will bring in a Jordan or someone else. They like their players, they aren't doing a fan driven draft.
  20. I will caveat this draft had a ton of players going all over the place so it is very clear there is pretty stark differences here. Seeing Poles press conference it made me think he didn’t buy much into the guy available and the ones he wanted the price to move up was too much (in his mind). I think I was right when I said we weren’t going to hit the line like everyone else thought - but I was still wrong cause I didn’t have TE on the list that early. Now to hope we see the bulk of these guys go on to be good football players. I do wonder if we see Bears acquire via trade a linemen at some point (whether now or leading into trade deadline). I do think, right or wrong, Poles wants to see Turner, Booker and even Ayo get some more reps. Sweat isn’t going anywhere yet and than they have added a few more so I think this is just one where they didn’t see the guys being players that were available (my guess). I hope they were not wrong!
  21. Worth watching if you haven’t. Some takeaways: The Bears, right or wrong, are much more comfortable with D line than we are. I’m not even sure they went into the draft with it as a priority, though I expect they’ll see the need to add there today to shut people up if nothing else. They also pretty clearly were not really enamored with this DL class, which is probably why they signed so many DTs in FA (as I had been theorizing). Don’t expect there to be a big competition at C unless Jones really blows them away. The plan is clearly to start Bradberry. They see Shemar as DE, not DT. He was mentioned in the group of edges with Montez, Dayo, and Booker. I don’t necessarily agree but that how they see it. The offensive guys are Ben guys. He wants them and has a plan. And while I have my reservations, it’s notable that every single offensive draft pick they made last year played well when called on. They are going to use Thomas very similar to how they used Velus Jones at first and he might see more carries than catches his first year. Poles noted how the system is particularly tough for WRs to pick up. You can also watch the post draft media conferences with the players on YouTube or the Bears app which give some insight into the players. We’ve talked about 30 visits and it sounds to me based on what I heard that Logan Jones did have a 30 visit with them but Thomas and Roush did not.
  22. Plus you traded a 5th round pick for Bradberry only to draft a 25 year old you hope replaces him sooner than later in the 2nd, and move a 6th back to a 7th for that DE that hardly played.
  23. Yep. Almost no point in making mocks or predictions because their board might not remotely resemble anyone else’s.
  24. all in all we traded a starting GOOD+ wide receiver for a third string tight end who can maybe *block. *wow, that is really a rare commodity that you should draft in the 2nd or 3rd round to get you over the hump in a superbowl run year. cap relief? good teams can manage it. why can't we? so, here is the NFL website evaluation day 2: Analysis:The Bears sent DJ Moore and a fifth-rounder to the Bills for a second-round pick earlier this offseason, but they were able to recoup a fifth-rounder by trading down on Friday night. Jones was my favorite center in the draft. He’s an athletic zone blocker who can anchor despite lacking ideal size. Roush met the Bears' need for a tight end who can block and be effective as a receiver, if he cuts down on drops. They took Thomas later in Round 3. He’s an after-the-catch threat like Luther Burden III, but Thomas isn’t the most natural pass catcher.
  25. The Bears lost way too much draft capital in this draft. From my count, they lost a round with Jones, lost a half a round with the trade back, another round selecting Roush, and then at least 2 more rounds with Thomas. That is 4.5 rounds in lost draft capital. That is not nothing. In 2 years, if Jones is the only starter out of Jones, Roush, and Thomas, it will be a bad draft.

It almost doesn't matter because the Bears are picking their guys not the consensus guys.
