Pick #25: Bears select Dylan Thieneman, S, Oregon
They will all look better with a pass rush, and without one, every player is eventually exposed in coverage. I love the pick, now we need to go DL.

Yet so many of us wanted Thieneman. Coincidence? I think not.

Pick #25: Bears select Dylan Thieneman, S, Oregon
IMO we've got enough interchangeable parts - time to get a guy you think can compete for #2 CB (if possible).

I like his is a blue player , can be more than just a starter. A star

Best Available Day 2
Yes, all the fans and pundits can have different opinions that do not match what the bears pick. I think one of those fall, but maybe move 4 or 5 picks up that doesnt cost to much.

Pick #25: Bears select Dylan Thieneman, S, Oregon
Yes , players with versatile with fit the scheme. Jason Kilgore, Kinoite Scott and Treydan Stukes could play CB, SS, FS, and NB. I would not be surprised if we picked one of them instead of a straight CB.

Pick #25: Bears select Dylan Thieneman, S, Oregon
Cam Lewis has a lot of versatility as well. Can really mix up deep v. in the box v. slot coverage and all those guys can blitz effectively.

Best Available Day 2
Trade up if necessary to get whoever is left in the middle of the round from Parker/Jacas/Moore/Young with your two 2s trying to get a 3 back. Use your two 3s on a C and maybe a CB, unless there's a DT or WR you love. We're going to learn a lot about the types of players the Bears want today.

I like the PFF draft Scott is totally flexible, NB, CB, SS or FS. sign me up.

Best Available Day 2
I did mocks from 3 different sites to see what may be available. The result makes me think we may trade up...

I like this pick for a few reasons, current depth being the obvious. The fact that we got much faster, in an already good secondary, is huge. Remembering Packer receivers running free is still a nightmare. That shouldn't be the case anymore. Lastly, the kid grew up in the county next to me...💪

Best Available Day 2
Edge - Young*, Howell*, Parker*, Jacas, Thomas DT - McDonald*, Miller, Hunter LB - Allen*, Rodriguez, Hill Jr CB - McCoy*, Terrell*, Hood*, Ponds, Cisse IOL - Bisontis, Pregnon A lot of impact guys still left on the board. The Bears should be able to get 1, if not 2 of the guys listed, and most are top 55 rated players. The guys with asterisks had 1st round or early 2nd round projections.

- Pick #25: Bears select Dylan Thieneman, S, Oregon
Bryant, Thieneman, and Gordon really make the secondary super versatile. This was a weaker draft overall, but Thieneman was one of the few elite picks even though it was at Safety.- Official Draft Day Thread: Round 1 @ 7PM Central
With several good players still at DT and DE, we should get two good players in the second round. I think its possible we trade back with one of those picks.- Official Draft Day Thread: Round 1 @ 7PM Central
Poles said there were two players on their board available, I wonder who the other one was? McCoy/CB, McDonald/DT, Miller/DT, Woods/DT, Lomu/RT. Young/DE, Parker/DE ?- Official Draft Day Thread: Round 1 @ 7PM Central
Another thing to note , they redid contracts for Noah Jackson and Cole Kmet to get 10.25 mil for the rookie pool.- Pick #25: Bears select Dylan Thieneman, S, Oregon
The one position we needed a starter and TADA we have Dillion. It worked out as BPA and a need. There were still a couple of DTs McDonald and Woods . Parker and Faulk on the board. Loma was there if they wanted a LT. They deemed this as the most important position to fill and I agree. I thought if Messidor was there he would have been the pick but being gone, they took the safety. The chances of both being there were slim and that's why I predict a trade back but very happy with this pick. DA is getting scheme fit players and think the rest of the picks will be too. I cant wait to see this defense with the speed we have added. Dillion 4.35, Coby Bryant 4.47, Devin Bush 4.43, DeMarco Jackson 4.55. Even though the DTs are unknown names everyone of them have better speed. Gallimore 4.79, 4.87, Lynch 5.01- Official Draft Day Thread: Round 1 @ 7PM Central
In fairness if McDonald is there they take him - let him plug the run for years. Should have some good options to add 2 more good football players in round 2 and hopefully another one in round 3.- Official Draft Day Thread: Round 1 @ 7PM Central
I think we see WR and DB…maybe DT. I think they see Shemar as a pick this year (since he barely got to play) and same with Ayo (injury return and DA admitted he realized he didn’t use him right) plus they want Booker to get playing time. Not saying any of them are elite but I think we will move down with one of the 2 picks and than tackle those spots and grab a center too. LB is a wildcard for me.- Official Draft Day Thread: Round 1 @ 7PM Central
If we get to the middle of round 2 and Young/Parker/Jacas are still n the board, I could see a trade to like Indy, TB, Atlanta range where we package our two 2nds to move up in the second but also get a 3rd back. That gets you the pass rusher you need and still puts you in a great position to address C, CB, or whatever with two third round picks.- Official Draft Day Thread: Round 1 @ 7PM Central
Why draft a safety in the first round? Positional versatility. That’s why I’m really happy with this pick. DA will be able to bring pressure from anywhere and still have players to cover the gaps. QBs won’t be able to decipher coverage as well pre snap. Then there is just the sideline to sideline speed to close gaps quickly. In short, everything is on the menu.- Official Draft Day Thread: Round 1 @ 7PM Central
- Pick #25: Bears select Dylan Thieneman, S, Oregon
yes, I hope we get Jacas or Dennis-Sutton tomorrow. Mason Reiger or Ndame Tucker are decent pass rushers that can be had later too. Also Lomu is agile but lacks a strong base. Needs a year in the weight room, is kind of a Braxton Jones clone right now. So maybe a player to develop, but not what we need right now. When Iheanachor went, I think that was that for our first round OL dreams. But then again, I had never heard of Ozzy Trapilo last year until we took him. So maybe they have something in mind. Also, maybe Cam Jordan or Taylor Decker will sign with us?- Official Draft Day Thread: Round 1 @ 7PM Central
Poles press conference from tonight. He mentions how they are looking for scheme and traits fits and those that don’t have that are “off our board”. Will be interesting to see how that manifests over the next few days. Says they had a couple players available where they were picking they were interested in and gauged a small trade down but couldn’t swing it. - Pick #25: Bears select Dylan Thieneman, S, Oregon
