Very impressive. Looking good. I may have rushed to judgment. He looked to be in terrific shape & working hard.

He was looking good in that video. Hopefully, he's ready when needed.
  4. AZ54 replied to Stinger226's topic in Bearstalk
He was putting in some effort to get over those issues. No details on the nature of this so we’ll see what happens as we get closer to the season.
  5. Pixote replied to Stinger226's topic in Bearstalk
Always seems to happen. Players get the big money guarantees on their first major contract after their rookie deal, and suddenly, they have soft tissue issues that keep them from earning the extension. If we're going to take a step forward to the Super Bowl against a strong schedule, we need all hands on deck.
  6. Stinger226 replied to Stinger226's topic in Bearstalk
Going into voluntary OTAs Kyle Gordon has a soft tissue injury and (surprise) JJ isnt here. Now to be fair JJ got married two weeks ago but with the no show injury last year, he needs to show he's committed.
  7. Who leads the team in receptions? As much as i think all the weapons will get an uptick in targets do to a more effective offense, I think Loveland leads in receptions. The first 9 games of the season Loveland had 33 targets, the last 8 he had 49. As much as Caleb has some type of bond with Rome, Loveland has become his go to guy. IMO
  8. I think Vegas has the Bears favored in 12 games, but the over under on wins is 9.5 LOL Make it make sense. I think the answer to your question Pix, is that a lot of prognosticators are cynical about our chances. I myself am pretty optimistic about this season. I dont know how they predict us to lose that one. Vegas has us as 2 1/2 point faves n that game, on the road. So 5 points at a neutral site. I just think people, have a hard time really feeling that the bears are a for real good team. Yes we got turnovers we wont get this year as they will say, but our defense is a lot better for speed and coverage, and we will be better vs the run. Johnson's in year 2, so I think we beat Carolina. But things happen, teams arent ready, or its a weird day, and we can still win 11 or more games even if we drop Carolina. Last year we lost the first two and managed 11 after that with a team that was inferior to this one in so many ways. Caleb coming into year 3, and year 2 with Johnson, more speed and coverage on the D. I think it looks pretty good for this team. They just have to reach out and take it. And I cant imagine them not being in that mindset with Johnson around. Also, there has to be an Edge player coming, right? And maybe a LT?
  9. A bit early, but what else can we do to kill time waiting for camp to open? There was an article on NFL.com predicting the outcome of every regular-season game to be played in 2026. The authors of the predictions were two guys I'm unfamiliar with, Ali Bhanpuri & Tom Blair. These guys were generous with their predictions for the Bears. One had us at 10 wins; the other at 11. Both had us winning the NFC North title again. One had us going into the playoffs as the #2 seed; the other as the #3 seed. What really surprised me was how optimistic they were compared to so many other doom-and-gloom predictors. Yet they both had the Bears losing to Carolina in our season opener. If we lose our opener, I would be so depressed. Carolina??? Seriously? Your prediction?

  11. I feel like this almost HAS to happen?
  12. I'm with you 100%. I've always been a big fan of Booker. I was expecting him to hit 10+ last year, but then he got injured. If he stays healthy, he will finally complement Sweat. I also agree we will, because of the speed we have added to our defense, see multiple players contributing 4, 5, or 6 sacks. (I would still love to see them sign a vet edge to rotate with the young lads.)
  13. Todays question I would say it is very probable that Sweat leads in sacks again but who is second and how many? I think Booker has a breakout season and could possibly lead the team. I think he has 11 sacks. Also, I can see where our defense has a Seahawk type of year and has several with over 5 sacks. They had 47 last year but didnt lead the league in sacks.

  15. Youre right I miscounted. this is year 5 for him.
  16. AZ54 replied to Stinger226's topic in Bearstalk
Handling bull rushes was a weakness. One that he might be able to improve upon with more strength and technique. His biggest issue was over setting and exposing the QB to immediate inside pressure.
  17. I expect him to be ok. Buyer beware on anyone signing him to any long term deal. I hear he doesn't like to stay in shape...
  18. The subtraction of Tremaine Edmunds and Billings will improve the run D.
  19. Today's question? Will the added speed on the defense put up better results against the run?? I saw a projected top10 rankings of LBers and our 3 starting LBers were all on the list. Health in the DB room, JJ and Gordon have always been good in run supporters. Also we have move speed in the front four.
  20. This year will be the first time in 3 yrs where he is fully healthy going into the season. That plus its a contract year, I see him playing his best ball this year. With the same bodies in the room last year coming off an injury he started the year as the starter. Bad play got him sat but with the OL coach, hard work(reported) , I see him stepping up his game. Where the ceiling lands remains to be seen but as you stated working out with Armstead, it has to have better results. His weakness has not been his movement but strength to handle the bull rush, a full off season of work may be all he needed to change that. Players can get better. Im curious if he plays above average, if the Bear's brass will consider signing him to a contract going forward? I suspect it depends on Ozzy's rehab.
  21. Terron Armstead has been training Braxton and Theo this off-season. He's said a lot of good things about Braxton, who is beginning his fifth year. If healthy, he'll win the job. We can only hope that he's better than the average he's always been. Average isn't terrible. I do like the description of mediocre, because that shows more up and down than average. Braxton's floor and ceiling ceiling are the highest, but his consistency must stay off the floor.
  22. I just want to say that Braxton Jones has NEVER been better than a mediocre LT. Of course i hope he shows up as an entirely new player and plays his ass off, and that goes for every player on the squad. I hope Amagadje is a hall of fame guard. But I havent seen anything in Jones' career to make me think that's about to happen? He's been a Bear for 6 seasons, and started on some pretty awful Bears teams. Doesnt anyone remember Caleb running around under constant pressure? I'm all for optimism, but this seems more like a wish than a plan. I will be extremely happy to be wrong about this if I am, but I just dont see it. For me, Theo Benedet is the floor at LT.
  23. Personally, I believe Braxton will come back strong and have the best year of his career. Dare say a top-tier L.OT. It will put us in a fantastic position when Ozzy returns.
  24. I have lots of questions that I would like your opinion from and will share mine. Today's question: Who will start at LT and how well will he play?
  25. Stinger226 replied to Stinger226's topic in Bearstalk
This is why we are going to have a winning record in 2026 season.
  26. Stinger226 replied to adam's topic in Bearstalk
I think a lot of fans perspective comes from trusting the bears to get better from year to year. History says that doesnt happen. The core of this team is clearly better and coaching is a huge upgrade. If Caleb takes the next step and I think he will , we are an 11 win team on the floor and a SB trip on the ceiling. My trust is in BJ to maximize the strengths of this team. If we added one upscale DE , the whole fanbase would have much higher expectations but everything else is in place, Another player getting 4 or 5 more sacks isnt going to derail us from our goals. Only major injuries can do that.
