  2. Question. If DJ didn't catch the winning TD in the endzone, would the refs have called DPI against the Packer player draped over his back before the ball even arrived? My guess is that, given how the refs have disrespected the Bears pretty much all season, it would have been a no-call.

    Bears Penalties

Still lead the league in Net Penalties -25, and Net Penalty Yards -318. Over the course of 15 games, they have lost a games worth of yardage to penalties compared to the other team. That is equal to a full game lost.
  4. Not to poo poo on other young QBs, but the MIN v NYG game is ugly. Dart has 6 yards passing, an INT and 3 sacks in the 3rd Quarter. McCarthy is hurt again, and he left with 108 yards, 1 INT, and 1 fumble.
  5. DAL was his best QBR game, this game was his 2nd best. CLE was a top 5 game.
  6. Stroud got worse year 1 to year 2. Daniel’s did the same. Caleb is better year 1 to year 2 under pretty much every stat. TDS, yards per game, sack rate, comebacks, yards per attempt, qbr. Only spot somewhat flat is completion percentage but even than he’s throwing ball down field a ton. His interception rate remains elite as well - which quite frankly it was in year 1 as well. Oh and year 1 in new system and first time in his career working behind center with new footwork. I think year 3 will be even better and more growth than we saw from year 1 to 2.
  7. Is that his best QBR in any game or did he top that in Browns game? I don’t know that I would have said it was his best or even top 2 game but he did have some pretty good balls given the conditions. Missed a few hot routes and there were 2 drops - one on a pretty deep pass. Also had the first down to Loveland take off the board on the Moore questionable penalty.
  8. Lafleur called a real good game and made some nice adjustments the whole way. Packers DC did a nice job as well - bears weren’t ready for them to dial up the blitzes as much but finally adjusted late. But there were a few clear blitzes and hot route wasn’t executed right (not sure if it was qb or wide out or what)
  9. Out of his hand I thought he literally was throwing it away and I was like oh crap and than camera angle pans down and it’s oh hell yeah…than it goes to replay and I’m like don’t show a bobble or a foot not getting down (live I thought it was a TD but I’d been wrong before)
  10. It was a bad call on Moore…he was fine and it had no bearing on the play etc. I thought refs were pretty one sided yesterday (in fairness I thought Bears maybe had a slight benefit on calls in the first meeting). But there was a play or two where they should have been a pass interference on Packers (one was where Kmet got mugged early) and I thought the first roughing passer was borderline and still thought the Brisker one was somewhat borderline (but can’t argue it). The 2nd one Booker got gets called everytime…sucked the timing of the head going down. I also thought Packers got away with a couple holding calls on Jarrett.
  11. Today
  12. Doesn't look like he's going to get 4,000 yards or 30 passing touchdowns this season, but 30+ total touchdowns is within the realm of possibility. I have to imagine that would be a record for this franchise.
  13. and talk about high pressure TD passes: 4th Down, 4th Quarter to tie the game, passes to a UDFA rookie, then follows it up in OT with a bomb to Moore, both passes in windy weather.
  14. For Caleb, there seems like there is an emphasis to look to pass over running, unless you absolutely have to. Like he is trading 4-5 yards on the ground for the potential for something in the pass game. Last year, he ran most of the time.
  15. Watson did not get set on the first play of the game, but it wasn't called. In the 4th quarter, DJ is gassed running back to the line, basically does the same thing Watson did, but they called it on Moore. Also, no holding calls on GB, even with Willis running a few times.
  16. Shady McCoy I think said it best regarding Willis vs. Love. First off...LeFleur is a really good play caller. When plays break down Love is unsure what to do. Willis might not be as good reading the field but if it's not there he just goes into scramble mode. You literally saw it play out when Love had to pull the ball down and then ran head first into Austin Booker. I've been alluding to that...cover the backend and then get pressure on Love and he's a different QB. We don't have the horses for that up front yet. Conversely...Get pressure on Caleb at your own risk.
  17. Yeah, and DET plays on Christmas Day in Minnesota, in 4 days, and they don't play until this afternoon. So Bears could clinch a playoff spot on Christmas and the Division next Saturday (GB loss) before the Bears play on SNF in SF. Also, SEA plays in CAR next Sunday at noon in CAR. If CAR somehow wins (they beat LAR), the Bears could take over as the #1 Seed with a win on SNF against SF. How wild would that be?
  18. Bears already 1 win more than I thought, but also still have a chance at 13-4 (without EVERYTHING going right).
  19. 0 sacks taken by Williams, impressive even with Parsons out. He is averaging 2 TD passes over the last 5 weeks playing against GB, CLE, GB, PHI, and PIT. That is a tough gauntlet to go thru, 4-1 in those games, losing only to GB on the last play.
  20. Week 16 1. Williams - 81.0 QBR - 250 yds, 2 TD, 0 INT, 0 Sacks, 30 Rush Yds. 280 Total Yards. Won. Season QBR: 56.3, 3,400 yards, 23-6 TD-INT, 23 Sacks, 3 Rush TD, 1 Rec TD. (15g) 2. Nix - XXX QBR - XXX Season QBR: 59.1, 3,256 yards, 23-9 TD-INT, 16 Sacks, 4 Rush TD. (14g) 3. Maye - XXX QBR - XXX Season QBR: 71.4, 3,567 yards, 23-7 TD-INT, 43 Sacks, 4 Rush TD. (14g) 9. McCarthy - XXX QBR - XXX Season QBR: 34.3, 1,342 yards, 11-11 TD-INT, 24 Sacks, 3 Rush TD. (8g)
  21. Green Bay plays Baltimore next week (with Love?), which is certainly not an easy task, and then travels to Minnesota for the final week. The GBP vs MIN rivalry is strong, and you never know what will happen in divisional matchups. Hell, it's possible GB tanks the remainder of the season.
  22. Yeah, it really seems like it is going to be GB @ CHI in 3 weeks. Have two teams met 3 times in 6 weeks before?
  23. I’d still like to see more progression before I’m fully bought in. As Mongo mentioned in another thread, I agree that he needs to play more consistently from start to finish. If he’s always relying on late-game heroics, it’s only a matter of time before opposing defenses figure out how to shut that down. If, after another season (or maybe two), he’s making even better decisions, then I’m a buyer. To be fair, he has shown significant improvement this year. I just hope he avoids a CJ Stroud–type regression next season and instead continues with Bo Nix–level consistency or a Bryce Young–style resurgence moving forward. In the time being I’m enjoying the heck outta this ride.
  24. A lot of factors to consider. SF's defense is nowhere near what they were last year without Warner and Bosa. Bears will also be playing with 2 extra days of rest as SF is playing in IND on MNF. So they have a short week while also traveling home. So they have a really short week with Christmas in the middle.
  25. With more teams calling more plays on 4th down nowadays, especially if they’re anywhere near the 50 yard line, not having a killer leg for distance isn’t as much a necessity. As long as our team can get him within a reasonable range and he stays accurate, he’s almost as good as Gould.
