Bagent needs to start the next game. I see a lot of the media and here saying Keenum had a great game. While he played as well as you can expect a 38 year old third string QB to play it wasn’t all good. He does not have the arm strength to get the ball outside the numbers. There were far too many close plays on the few outside throws and too often Bears WRs turned into defenders. If he starts the next game DBs will be jumping those routes. You don’t want to take away throws outside the numbers because the safeties will sit on the inside routes and some will get hit hard. Bagent doesn’t have the strongest arm but it’s better than Case. He can hit those 10 yard outs better. Plus Case can’t run which removes all read option plays. Celebrate the win. Celebrate that we have a serviceable 3rd QB which is rare. Then get Bagent ready.

Agreed. There was nothing positive in the three plays leading up to that 4th and goal. Just take your gifted 3 points and go up two scores.

Up 7-0, you gotta go up 10-0. After that. You can go for it. Situational football gives BJ more options in the long run. He needs to grow a little more IMO.

The one thing about taking points, a FG is not guaranteed points, Santos had one blocked and a 2nd one almost was. So I am ok going for it in most cases. Johnson is just the extreme.

there is a big difference between aggressive play calling and STUPID, stupid play calling last week cost us the game. that is not some minor deal especially if it's the difference in making the playoffs or not. you ALWAYS take the points unless it's late in the game and you are down more than 10 points. then it is a reasonable risk to do so. but to do so at random in a game and CERTAINLY not in your own territory is pee wee play calling. this is especially true if your defense is not even mediocre. i don't care what other coaches in the league do it's bad, bad, bad professional football. there is a reason this was rarely ever done for nearly a hundred years. or at least in the modern age of field goal kicking. all that said, explain to me why in the holy hell you would go into a SHOTGUN formation and actually run the ball 6 inches from the goal line. that's not stupid, that is criminally stupid.

I will ask him to take the points when your up by 7 at home and your first 2 attempts were blown plays. I will also blame that mentality for Caleb getting hurt. If he took the 3, Caleb survives another series.

BJ has always been an aggressive play caller. We saw him go for it on 4th down many times with Detroit. I'm not sure, but I believe he led the league in 4th-down go-for-it attempts during his time with Detroit. I like his aggressive style. That's why we hired him. Now, when he went for it deep in our own territory, I think that was a mistake he would like to take back. Given his success with us, I am not about to ask him to change his approach.

IT WAS INCREDIBLE! WOW!!! See why you locals do this. Talk about a rush. From the tailgates, crowds and even most of the Eagles fans I met, just an incredible energy. And to win on top of it all? a few comments the good: keenum looked good. poised in the pocket, very quick release which made all the difference in the world. caleb NEEDS to see how this works. i have a feeling if caleb is in there he hangs onto the ball longer on probably one third of the plays and not for the better. the DE's look non existent for most of the game. seems like the d-line had an improvement in pushing the pocket back from the LOS. that helped a lot but far from perfect. some decent playcalling to match the type of QB by johnson for 'most' of the game. the BAD: ben johnson better get his head out of his ass and stop trying to be the smartest guy in the room. his bad playcalling decisions could have cost us the freaking game. you ALWAYS take the points when you get the opportunity early in the game ESPECIALLY when your defense is less than mediocre! it's stupid going for it on 4th down. add to this.... what in god's name is he thinking when it was 1st? and goal and the one inch line??? even a pee wee coach knows you do NOT line up in the shotgun in that situation for a running play. that call was criminally stupid every and any way you look at it. mindboggling. i do not EVER recall seeing a play set up like that ever. this type of stupidity costs games (it did last week). jj johnson is not a #1 CB. at best he is a good #2. his coverage is near pathetic and has been since he was injured. ROUSCH??? this guy that we HAD to have as yet another TE has been atrocious with multiple mistakes. this guy does not look like he should even be on the roster or PS at best.

Keenum was absolutely sensational tonight. I was totally wrong about my keys to the game. I thought the only way the Bears could win was by running the ball. Keenum was making some incredible plays against pressure all night. The floaters he had that were dropped perfectly into the receivers hands as he got it out just before taking the hit was elite quarterback stuff. If Caleb ever adds that to his game, he's going to win MVP. Can't say enough good things about that gutsy performance from Keenum. Hats off! The defense was not good in the 1st half, but did a complete turnaround in the 2nd half, pitching a shutout. Dennis Allen finally brought pressure and fooled Hurts a couple times in key situations. Reminded me of the Rams playoff game a little bit. Theineman might be a stud. He's made plays in every game so far. He's always around the ball, and seems to be the surest of tacklers I've seen in a while. I think we got a good one. Special teams continues to be a disaster this year. Sam Rousch is awful and continuously makes the dumbest mistakes. Tripped over his own feet on a wide open catch in the first series, then, for some reason, decided to fall on the punt that was already lying on the ground at the 1 yard line and couldn't keep his foot from touching the goal line. Pretty sure he missed another blocking assignment on special teams and was benched later in the game. He needs to sit more than he is, because he is costing them big time. Also, Cairo Santos with his 4th or 5th kick that fell short of the landing zone already this year. Completely unacceptable. Return coverage was also quite bad. Kevin Hightower has somehow evaded a firing for years, but it's becoming really difficult to ignore with each passing week how poorly his unit has been playing. Last thing I'll say is that Keenum needs to start next week. I'm pretty sure Ben Johnson already hinted that it's going to be Bagent, and I think that is the wrong decision. Bagent has made 4 starts in his NFL career and none of them were particularly good. He got sacked on the last play of the game against Minnesota and threw a few hospital balls that were lucky to have been completed in that game, too. Keenum has over 60 career starts and is coming off maybe the game of his life against a really good opponent. I don't understand what we're doing here? Bagent has earned nothing. There's nothing wrong riding the hot hand, and if Keenum struggles against the Jets, you can go back to Bagent against the Packers. If Bagent struggles against the Jets, and the Bears lose, now you just gave away a game you should have won and immediately find yourself in a position to go back to Keenum and ruin Bagent's confidence. Maybe he'll be good and I'll eat crow next week, but I just don't know why you would mess with a good thing now. These next two weeks are so important.

Sold the tickets when Caleb came out and opted for an evening tour on the river….baha…Alaskan hopefully you guys had a blast!!! Place sounded amazing from the tv so can only imagine how awesome it was in person!

How was the game?

Ditto on the thoughts about Thieneman. His speed shows up a lot. Plays that used to be 15 yards given up are now 7. You don’t always see it on TV but then he’s in on the tackle with the CB and LB. Grady Jarrett had a very good game. If they can get VDB up to speed alongside him we’ll have something good inside. TJ Edwards’s listening to their huddle then intercepting the ball was awesome. Overall far from a perfect game yet we won by 20pts with our 3rd string QB. My mind is not grasping what I just witnessed.

Pass rush and pressure rate looked way better and Dillon T looks like a dude. Every week he looks explosive and he’s got plenty to learn but I think we got a baller on the back end!

Huge win great game. Defense - hell yeah! Keenum - hell yeah! Coaching staff - excellent job!!! Loveland / Burden / Raymond - nice work. Fun game and I hope Caleb who is great sees and learns from what the old vet did. You apply that learning with what you got and there is a level of qb that the league has never seen!!!

Great Game. No one was expecting us to win. About time we got some respect. Bears did well to cut down on penalties. Made a big difference. For a game with a 3rd string QB as a starter, gotta love it!

Am i the only one that wonders how Wicks is even still on a roster? The guy has dropped everything thrown to him GB to Philly.

Kennum keeping it in the pocket and the offense moves like watching a poor man Peyton Manning, different than Caleb. I hope caleb watches and learns a little. He trusts his feet sometimes too much. Exciting as all heck, but you see what patience and experience brings.

Adam, we might need a new tracker. I said after the draft we can compare DE Keidric Faulk vs S Dillion Thieneman to see if we messed up not drafting the edge. 3 games in, I think the Bears chose correct. I haven't dug to deep into this. Gabe Jacas has played well 1.5 sacks, 6 tkl 5 assts, but the rest of the early edges are pretty meh so far.

That #31 is the sole of the D, if it wasn't for him we would be getting beat and loat worse against the Vikings. The vets need to step it up and make plays. The D is playing well but so many misses will catch up
