Roster Construction
I wonder what happens if Braxton plays well all year. That would be a nice situation to deal with. Maybe he earns a big contract, we could get a comp pick.

I don't subscribe to any pundits but do The Athletic and Chicago Tribune. I'll look up ( Car Keys). I don't mind Shayne at all. Him and Phil are on CHGO after dark once a week with Greg. I agree more with Phil on takes than Shayne. I just can't listen for a long time to arrogant people. I swear he thinks he's never been wrong on anything. I don't like Phil but I don't call him a moron because I know he's not. Gabriel isn't either .

No doubt Phil is arrogant. But I think he's right a lot too. And I think Gabriel is a moron, but that's just my opinion of course. It's just you used him as "evidence" or a "supporting fact" so I was just saying that evidence didnt hold up in my view. I also not saying you said he is always right or anything like that. It's just you cited him, so I rebutted that? Like if you put a PFF factoid and then i say PFF is random. Same thing? Also, if you get a chance to watch "Cars Keys" on TTNL, he and Shayne talk and he is VERY smart about GM stuff and the cap. And Phil isn't on that show. On his free shows on youtube Phil is basically just being arrogant, but if you pay the $10, and watch his film analysis this time of year, and ignore his personaility, it's the best stuff out there I think. Starting with it isnt just highlights, but the good the bad and the ugly. It's why I dont like Zion Young while most people do. That TTNL tape looked a lot different than the highlight reels do. And I saw him taking plays off, giving half effort and not being a high motor guy. This time of year it's a good $10 to spend. He goes in depth with a lot of the possible guys we could draft, and you can watch an hour of tape, along with excellent analysis about footwork, assignments, routes etc etc for anyone interested, it's excellent.

It's okay to have your opinion. Maybe if you followed him you would change it. One take he got wrong about does not detract from his years of experience. I said he's not always right, you think when I say things that everything is absolute. You ignore my other comments. I watched Phil several times on your recommendation and don't disagree with some of his opinions, it's his arrogance I don't like. The other guy is fine.

On a side note: Ben said Braxton Jones is up to 310 lbs and looks yoked. He's at the facility working his ass off to get stronger. Evidently, he was playing at 290 last year, which is way too light. Look for him to hit camp at around 315. Hopefully, that help with his anchor.

No i dont think you or we were arguing. If you mean the phrase "argument of authority" that means like a logical argument, and its a classic logical mistake, but it doesnt mean like angry arguing or anything like that - we arent. You havent said anything like that in a while, alls well here with me. No fight here. Im just saying i think he's an idiot, so for me, his opinion isnt proof of anything. And I just offered that he said we would keep Fields and trade the Caleb pick. He said he had inside info about that, and clearly, he was lying or being lied to - either way, it it proof that you cant trust those reports from him. But this is just a discussion, Im not mad at you(or anyone).

Mock Drafts
I dont think he is that far off from 25-40 range. The Bears need a starter at S, so his name is going to associated. He could have transfered but chose to stay at Toledo and knows the NFL will find talent. He's top 10 RAS, impressed at senior bowl, and is similiar to Seahawk rookie Nick Emmanwari. McNeil-Warren would bring that big hit in the box S but can play FS or Nickle. Quinyon Mitchell came out of Toledo, he's pretty good . I dont see Theineman there as much as I want him, so we will be looking at a tier of players that will rank about the same. The Bears brought in FA DTs and DEs, so they might look at locking that open position (safety). I will have many more mocks from now until draft 😆 but I feel safety has strong odds for being the pick.

Myles Garrett is tradeable now
I'm sure he does, I just don't think the bears are giving up that much capital for Garrett. Not sure why the Browns would trade their best assert when Crosby cost 2 1sts and Parsons got 2 firsts and a quality player.

Mock Drafts
I'm not sure what will present itself but these were teams that had multiple picks in some rounds. Just looking at what Poles may have options to move back. It might be a team that doesn't have extra picks. Poles rarely does what's expected.

Show me where he said Caleb was terrible? I've been following him for 5 years and never saw that . . If anyone wants to watch some good bears content Gabriel Talks Football on Barroom Network. It has the best opening in Bears Nation. He has a lot of good football people on there.

How is it if I disagree with you that means I'm trying to argue? You responded to my post, It's okay if you don't like him but you are not the only person on here. Everything I talk about is not intentionally directed at you. I gave my reasons why I trust him and your argument is he never gets anything right. I follow him and you don't so your take what other people say as meaningful reasons to not like him. I don't care

LOL @ the Phil Emery video! I know what you mean, this time of year we are so hungry for information, and there just isnt any to be had, lying season and all that. That said, I still think Greg Gabriel has the worst takes around. I don't trust him as a source at all. He said Caleb would be terrible and we should keep Fields. He even said that he had inside info that we would trade that first pick and keep Fields. I mean that alone should make anything else he says highly suspect.

Of all the permutations in the first round nobody gets it right. Gabriel has not been in the best health the last few years and there are times you can see him physically struggling. I’m not sure he cares about clicks, likes, or followers. I think he’s just an old football guy like us who enjoys chatting about the draft prospects. He freely admits he doesn’t have all the info on these prospects but is willing to share his thoughts on what he sees and hears. I’m so far off the wall I watched a video with Phil Emery talking about Dline prospects.

well we are back to this. the argument of authority. Understand that Greg Gabriels job isnt to tell the truth, its to get clicks. Also these guys just repeat the same narratives. You can believe or "trust" whoever you want to, but its not any kind of proof at all. GG is an idiot. https://x.com/ggabefootball/status/1741190517847646295 Hilarious.

I agree - in the move to 43 - are we just giving up 25? If so I can kind of see it but would expect bears may want to move back closer to 30/35 which is okay.
-
Myles Garrett is tradeable now
Or does he want the sack record and a Super Bowl ring?
-
Mock Drafts
I feel like moving to 43 is a little too far but I would like something like that Jets deal.

Mock Drafts
I looked at the NFL draft trade chart and saw what teams had multiple picks in other rounds. For pick 25 MIA gets 25+89 and we get 30+75+130 MIA has pick 43+ 75+111 Jets has 33+103+140+179 Pitt has 53+76+85+135 Jax has 56+82+88+124 I think the best shot would be 43+75+111 for 25 with MIA

With the group of players they have shown interest in, I suspect they move back 5 to 10 spots and still get a good DE and S and then the rest is a BPA scenario. There big board isn't going to look like the consensus ranking because they are more system oriented for the defensive players. It would be nice to have an extra pick in the top 100.

Myles Garrett is tradeable now
He's going to be 31 this football year, I doubt if he sits out or forces a trade. He has no leverage. He literally talked to the organization to change some contract language. Doesn't seem to me to be a failsafe point yet. He wants the sack record meaning he has to play.

I'm not saying he a football God, but he knows agents and has friends still working in the NFL. I trust him more than most football pundits or random fans. None of them get everything right sometimes his sources give bad information. At least his time in the NFL gives him some creed over some of these pundits that never played football or stepped a foot in a locker room.

With all due respect, Greg Gabriel is wrong a LOT.
-
Myles Garrett is tradeable now
The reason is if Garrett is holding out, then they either get something for him, or nothing. That's why they'd take less. But they ONLY have to take as little a price as the second highest bidding team
-
Myles Garrett is tradeable now
He's aging and had a ton of snaps to break the sack record. I'm leary...

Myles Garrett is tradeable now
Not sure why they would settle for less than they want for the best defensive player in the league. Several think 3 firsts or 2 and a significant player. My guess is a young cheap option not high salary players.
