  1. Today
  2. I can't wait for when they don't rank us last in our division. That will come in nine days...💥
  3. Obviously the BIG question is Caleb. He's not the biggest weakness, it's just he's the QB so everything rests on him. The biggest questions in terms of weakness are LT, Pass Rush and HB - and that's the same list we had before the draft too. So that doesnt inspire a lot of confidence in Poles. The coaching staff on the other hand, I have a lot of confidence in. I'm looking forward to see how we scheme on Monday night. Can we win games with these weaknesses against good teams and divisional rivals? I hope so. I mean, I know there are things you can do to help a LT for example. And they can work, but they also limit your playbook, and of course I want to see Johnson able to call his full complement of plays, so it would be better if we had a real starter there. The same with the pass rush. Can Allen get pressure with this group? I cant wait to see.
  4. Mine is pass rush Caleb LT RB health

    Questions?

For me it's (in no order): starting LT (can the unit gel in time to work as a cohesive unit?) Edge/Pass Rush (will it matter if DA likes to bring extra pressure anyway?) RB depth (after Swift, who is RB2/3rd Down back?) CBs (both Jaylon's health and CB2 - Stevenson again?) Special Teams as a whole (has looked like crap all offseason, can they afford to lose a net 5 yards per drive?)
  8. I think the biggest question for me before the season starts is: Is Jaylon Johnson going to play and can he be up to speed day 1? I know there are questions at other positions but until we see our players preform, Im going to wait and make those judgements later. Because we are playing Jefferson our first game, I think this matters.
  9. Keepers are set for the 2025 season. For some reason Yahoo makes it a pain in the ass to view last year's keepers compared to previous seasons, so I am posting in here so there is record of them. 2025 TB Keepers The Bunny - Nabers & Hubbard Bum Fights - Pollard My Team Sucks - Thomas Jr. Trench Warfare - Hockenson & Burrow Nips&Tips - Henry & Brown Scotty Doesn't Know - Higgins & Williams Hock Tua on my Chubby - Bowers SAVAGEw/LOOSEMORALS! - Swift Nopper - Barkley & Jeudy Win in Rome - Cook
  10. Damn, he is lucky, that looks bad, and will definitely need a front-end alignment! Glad he is ok.

  12. I like seeing them draft linemen, but damn Poles hasn't shown he's an expert finding them yet. If Wright doesnt become to top 2-3 RTs, he shouldn't cost a ton. He should be a probowler, but I understand those recognitions come with winning football. Heck, move Wright to RG if Trapilo develops.
  13. Essentially that is why we have 10 Oline on the roster. Let 'em grow and have the low cost replacements ready when Caleb is getting his extension. That could even include Trapilo taking over for Wright vs giving Wright an extension.
  14. Newman had quite a few snaps against Jones and held his own. He will be the next starter after one of two vets finish their career. Both guards can be moved on from after two yrs the way the contracts are constructed.
  15. Both of you said that excellently. I don’t think it was wrong move for Green Bay - love has shown he is a good qb - great, maybe not - but in right situation they can do pretty good. For Bears this would be wrong move - you got to know you got a good qb first and until than invest the pieces that help enable that.
  16. Exactly. When you know with confidence the piece you to get to the top then you make the big splash. Green Bay IMO was not there with their roster which is why I think this was the wrong move for them. Jerry Jones controls the next 2 drafts.
  17. Thank you so much for not going to your name calling that you normally go to when we get to this point in a discussion.
  18. I havent fought with anyone but you, the rest of us are all having a fine discussion. While I thank you for your advice on how I should talk, i will politely decline to follow it.
  19. My point is, you just can't give your opinion, you have to shove it down people's throats when they don't agree with you. In this thread, you addressed everyone that didn't agree with you. You have every right to beat a subject to death, it's just annoying. Again you get things wrong when you try to put words in my mouth. I was only interested in bringing Jenkins back if he signed a team friendly deal and to bring someone in to compete with him . You paint it like I was president of his fan club. I don't remember the Leno conversation but, you get everything else wrong and I'm sure that is too. You just can't state your opinion and say I disagree, you have to type a novel on why you're right and everyone else is wrong.
  20. You keep making this point. What does it mean? Does it mean people talking sports shouldnt speak about decisions their team has made? It just sounds like you saying "shut up and love the team" and my direct answer to that is "no" I can praise Poles for some things and criticize him for others. I can make judgements about which players or GMs are good and which need replacing. I remember about 6 months ago you were arguing that there was no way Poles would get rid of Jenkins. "He just needs another chance" you said. Same with Leno years ago. And with Fields. And Eberflus. So, yeah. You just love anyone on the team. that's awesome for an 8 year old fan. Here in the real world, when men talk sports, they say good and bad things about their team - and the reason is they hope to fix or replace the bad players, coaches and GM so we get better.
  21. I heard his name mentioned but unfortunately it was for a penalty.
  22. Maybe but I heard Jones request a DT in one press conference,so not sure he would have taken an injured CB. I'm sure Poles would have did a better money contract. The reality of it is we didn't trade for him, just like we didn't draft the LT you wanted either. Now for my cheerleading, I hope we have a pass rush and that one of the LTs play well enough to keep the job all year. Like you said early in the preseason, I will wait to watch the team on the field before I judge.
  23. we would have negotiated a contract that fit our situation. It would still be a ton of money, but as to which year it hits etc, that was negotiable. I figure we would have traded Jaylon Johnson which could have made one of the pciks a 2nd rounder, and it gets $20M off of our books. Plus JJ is going to want a new deal next year anyway, and we arent gonna pay what he wants.
  24. That is always possible. I can see them going the OLB/DE smaller twitchy type and the also traditional edge setter that can get after the QB too. They might need to take another shot at LT too. You would think the light would go on for Kiran who is smart and has the physical tools but slow starts 2 years in a row tells me he might be gone next year at this time if it doesnt click. If OT Kiran, Trapilo, or Theo and can take and excel at LT this year, and Booker plays like he did early in preseason then BJ might be able to get his stud RB. That would put this team on a path not seen. But that is a lot to hope for.
