  1. Welcome Back GMs! I just wanted to send out a early notice before the seasonal break before things ramp back up in a month. We will schedule the draft for the last week before the regular season kickoff (AUG 31st to SEP 7th). I would like to have Keepers identified and dues submitted a week prior to that (by AUG 24) to give everyone some time to set their draft order knowing who is already taken. So once we set an exact draft date, I will also set the keeper and dues date at that time. These were the keepers from last year, you cannot keep the same player in back-to-back seasons: 2025 TB Keepers The Bunny - Nabers & Hubbard Bum Fights - Pollard My Team Sucks - Thomas …

My focus: First has anyone seen anything regarding starters playing? All of my usual sources have nothing on it. LT - I listened to Tom Thayer yesterday and he said he hasn't seen anyone really take hold of the starting job at LT. I'm guessing this story continues even into the season as Ozzy works his way back. The only thing I can glean from various comments from practice observers is that Kiran is likely done. Wills might work his way back into the competition but that likely depends on his play today. Other than that maybe they just stick with Braxton for the near term to start getting continuity on the line. If Theo is the floor for all this well then…

This is pretty underwhelming news I guess it fills a spot for the preseason and maybe longer while Turner gets up to speed Have to see the contract but hopefully it’s something we can easily walk away from https://bearswire.usatoday.com/story/sports/nfl/bears/2026/08/17/bears-sign-marcus-davenport/91340280007/

Seems like the way things are going we might need this. With Coby Bryant out, his new backup, Xavior Woods now hurt and just learned Monongai’s injury was worse than originally thought. Reports are that he hyper-extended his knee after (get this) Grady Jarrett tackled him from behind and (allegedly) ‘forgot they weren’t in pads.’ NBC SportsKyle Monangai (knee) to miss multiple weeksBears RB Kyle Monangai is expected to miss multiple weeks with a hyperextended knee, reports ESPN's Jeremey Fowler.

  8. Huge news - way sooner than expected. Hopefully the momentum with Oz continues - he’s got a month of practices before season starts - even if he begins the year coming off the bench this is a huge step forward!

Starting a new thread just to keep track of post game analysis on the new players. This surprised me mostly because I don’t recall having a Bears QB who the coach said doesn’t need more snaps to improve before the season starts Do I need to see Caleb Williams in the preseason? No, I do not. I see him every single day in practice," Johnson said, noting that Williams will be ready for Week 1 based on what he's seen during practice this summer.

  10. Saw a post on the socials recently where I learned #4 is in a contract year and an UFA after this year unless…the Bears resign him. So do they? I’m of the opinion ‘yes’ they need to. He’s done everything asked of him. Gotten better with Johnson and so far (knock on wood) has been durable. They didn’t draft any new RBs and aside from Monangai (who may have durability issues) there’s really no one left in the RB room. I think we all know for whatever reason, RoJo is in the doghouse and may have missed his potential. Aside from Chicago from being cheap I can’t think why they wouldn’t. I saw this nugget from the Albert Breer article. Recovery is typically 6-12 months, which is a huge range of outcomes. We are 8 months removed from this injury, and 9 is the halfway point in the range. Could the Bears get Trapilo back in October or November? That would be huge. SIAlbert Breer Empties His Bears Notebook From Training CampCaleb Williams's maturation continues as he works to become a more consistent passer. Plus, a lofty Colston Loveland comp, questions at safety and more.

  12. Went out of practice on a non-contact injury doing 1:1 with Kmet. Out 8-10 weeks (so will likely miss 1st 5 games of the season (maybe more). Hyer-extended knee, bruise and small bone break. Lucky this wasn't worse but still a huge loss. Get better soon Coby!

I can understand why DET is being projected to win the division in a lot of places. The easiest schedule alone will give them a few more wins. However, I have no clue why some projections have GB in 2nd. Everyone seems to be inflating players that have never achieved heights they are expecting. First, there is Watson, somehow, he is being anointed as a sure-fire WR1, yet he has never topped 41 receptions and 620 Receiving Yards but is magically going to hit 80-1000 this season in Year 5? He has also never played more than 15 games. To me, Watson is who he is. An explosive WR, when healthy, but more boom or bust than consistent WR1. I don't see him doubling his career hig…

This injury list and subsequent contract issue make me think Jacas wasn’t even on our board. I’d bet the contract issue is over guarantees “Jacas’ recent health issues have not been limited to his knee. A hamstring injury prevented Jacas from participating at the Combine in February or Illinois’ pro day in March. There are also concerns that a labral tear in Jacas’ shoulder could require medical attention down the line.” Pro Football RumorsMike Vrabel Discusses Unsigned 2nd-Rounder Gabe JacasMike Vrabel is "positive" the Patriots will sign second-rounder Gabe Jacas, but it is not clear when it will happen. 16. That can be a vet taking a big leap. Rookie playing really well. UDFA contributing. One of the stars going off. (example) Caleb throwing for 4800 yards/ 34 TDs. A spot with a lot of questions, I think Austin Booker jumps up and gets 12 sacks.

Comparing QBs closest to Williams in 2024-2025: Herbert 672-1016, 66.1%, 7597 yds, 49 TD, 16 INT, 804 Rush Yards, Years 5-6 (within 114 passing yards, 2 TD) Mahomes 707-1083, 65.3%, 7515 yds, 48 TD, 22 INT, 729 Rush Yards, Years 8-9 (within 32 passing yards, 1 TD) Williams 681-1130, 60.3%, 7483 yds, 47 TD, 13 INT, 877 Rush Yards, Years 1-2 Allen 626-943, 66.4%, 7399 yds, 53 TD, 16 INT, 1110 Rush Yards, Years 7-8 (within 6 TD) The biggest difference is that Williams was a rookie in 2024 with Flus as HC. Considering that, his being already in the mix with this group of QBs is a great sign. Mahomes and Allen are annual MVP Candidates, and Herbert has started to be put in th…

The 2026 Bears rookie class could be one of their best as a whole. They added levels of talent to both offense and defense. There is a good chance this class along with some UDFAs contribute early and become playmakers on a team loaded with young talent. Thieneman has elite athleticism and instincts. He will be a playmaker especially paired with Bryant. Add Muhammad who will compete with Stevenson or maybe play NB if Gordon misses time. They are lining him both inside and out in OTAs. Van Den Berg and Elliott might see time in rotations, but have more competition to fight thru to find opportunities, but should find roles. On offense, we have one of the best minds in …

Thought I’d drop a quick thread here to do a quick check in on where everyone is at. Mostly wanted to tell Mad Lith (if he’s out there somewhere) I found some of that Lagvulin at Costco for just over $40. That’s a pretty incredible price! Anyhow, I’m not much on here during the summer as summers in Alaska are something you take full advantage of. I hope all our members, past and current, are doing well! Looking forward to re-engaging with you all (yes even you Mongo, PHX and Stinger lol) once the season begins. I’m not sure how it’ll shake out just yet but it’s always fun to watch … regardless. Meanwhile in the World Cup … go Portugal and Mexico!
