I have to watch the game again but the linebackers play today was by far the best this season. Agree? Play calling ( defense ) was far more agressive today. Granted thier qb was strickly a pocket passer . Maybe blitz a little more but kudos for the D.

Naturally I missed the game. Looks like our young LBs played well, as did the Dline. Jay throwing for 381yds didn't hurt either.

I saw some interesting stats on Football Outsiders in regards to our rushing defense. We are currently middle of the road for run defense, but have a few areas that really need some work. We are 25th in Run Stuffs, 25th off the Left Tackle (RDE), and 30th off the Right Tackle (LDE). I was really surprised to see how bad we have been off the Left DE as Houston and Young have been lining up there. That really needs to change, we are basically being gashed for over 5 1/2 yards on runs over the Right Tackle. The lack of stuffs makes sense due to the struggling LB's.

Here we go, the loser is pretty much eliminated from playoff contention. After 2 straight losses, we now are projected to win 7 games and only have an 18% chance to make playoffs. A third straight loss in the conference would pretty much eliminate us. This is a must win.

Good to see Roberto back in time to play against his former team. Although DLP has done well. But what I'm really intrigued by is the possible starting of Christian Jones. I look forward to seeing how he does in a full game. He was released by the Giants from injured reserve but it would appear he may be healthy considering he was out doing workouts. If he is indeed healthy he could be a huge addition to help with return duties.

First off, let me just say this... I was pissed with Cutler's play this weekend too. And he has to get goddamn better or we're not going anywhere this season. With that said... Statistically Cutler is still a top QB in this league. Question what you want about how he handles himself during interviews or when you see him on the sidelines in the few shots of him we're shown, whatever. Facts are borne out by numbers. There's certainly room for improvement and he's got to get his head outta his ass on various picks but they weren't all his errors either. Marshall hasn't been 100% and he quit on one last week. Did anyone else get mad at our running plays , too many fakes before Forte gets the ball, damn just give him the ball and let the line try to open a split second hole for him, instead of the line having hold the defense so long.

McCray is horrible in coverage and while I don't think Vereen is going to be any better to start with, I'd rather live with the rookie mistakes and see if he can learn. Fixing the safety position is going to be a big part of our offseason and I think we should give Vereen enough game experience to know where he fits in those plans. I don't see McCray being in our plans for next season.
