  1. Started by CrackerDog,

Maybe we can track and discuss them here. The Trib is reporting that Rypien was cut. Nothing else at this time…

This one surprises me because I thought he was a lock. I guess with the Borom injury they need someone who can play OT as well, that seems to be Bill Murray.

Darrell Taylor. Has 21.5 sacks in the last 3 years, and 15 over the last 2. Feels like a poor man's Ngakoue. $3.1M cap hit. Low risk. 6th rounders rarely make an NFL roster, so I really don't care too much about 6th and 7th rounders if you can get guys who make the 53-man roster for them. Taylor looks like one of them.

  5. This is a glorious day to be a Bears fan. They defeated the SB champs handily, very close to an ass whooping, and they did it starting almost all players 3rd round or later while KC was running former 1st and 2nd rounders out there. The Bears end the preseason with a +68 points differential in 3.5 games. That is crazy. They scored 20+ pts and 3 TDs in every game. The defense has multiple TDs in less than 4 games. This would not matter if the Bears had weak starters, but both units look like they are top 10-15. With all the positives, there are still some concerns. I don't think Pass Rush or O-Line are the top issues anymore. They need another rotational D…

  6. Evidently Albert Breer was reporting today that the Bears have been in touch with Ngakoue's reps recently. I have to imagine he is there plan B - depending on how things shake out. I don't know how much he has left - but got to imagine Bears could get him between 5-7M for 1YR. He has flaws - but not bad from a depth perspective and you don't feel bad if other guys play their way into his role (in fact you prefer it). I presume he would be the passing down end - and it would allow you to slide Walker inside on those plays.

  7. With us on the new server and new software - please let us know how it is working. If you are running into any issues let us know. My immediate reaction is wow is this site running fast. I also recognize we will have some hiccups as the dns propagates.

  8. Started by DABEARSDABOMB,

Can you confirm you can see this and no issues. If you can see this - you are officially on the upgraded forum and seeing our new server. We finished our server migration and upgrade today. I will note that you may run into some issues in next 24-48 hours as we are on a new server - so your computer at home or work may access the site perfectly fine while your phone doesn't (or vice versa). Just let me know if you are running into any issues. Additionally - if you want to test post on here just to make sure everything is humming along that would be awesome.

  9. Started by adam,

Here are my stand out players who I think will slip into the bottom of the 53-man. OFF - TE - Tommy Sweeney 6-75, 1 TD - With Kmet, Everett, and Lewis not playing ST, I think they carry a 4th TE, and it would be Sweeney. He also has been a key contributor with several ST tackles. WR - Dante Pettis 5-98, 2 TD - I think Pettis ends up as WR5/6 and is the lead PR. He looks healthy this year and reminds me of his time in SF where he looked like a solid WR2/3. Like Sweeney, Pettis has ST value. That might get him on the roster over Johnson and/or possibly Velus. DEF - Edge - Hardy 10 tackles, 3.5 sacks - This dude has really impressed. He is everywhere…

  10. Placeholder for Week 1 - SEA (Waldron's offense) beat TEN in Week 16 last season 20-17 in TEN. Geno Smith was 25-36, 69.4%, 227 yds, 2 TD, 0 INT, 2 Sacks, 104.7 QB Rating. 18 receptions by WRs. SEA sacked TEN 6 times. TEN replaced Derrick Henry with Tony Pollard. If the Bears can stop Pollard, who is more of a dual threat than Henry, I think the Bears win handily.

  11. The Preseason finale is in 3 days! So we get Hard Knocks on Tuesday and Bears football on Thursday. Obviously with the quick turn around, I can't see the Bears playing any starters. So it will be curious to see how the team handles guys like Velus. If they don't suit up, they are basically on the 53-man roster. So we should know who the bubble players are on Thursday night.

  12. With Preseason Game 3 being the last preseason game, this will more than likely be the last game we see Caleb and most of the starters in until Week 1 against TEN. Btw, the early line for Week 1, Bears are 4 point favorites as of today.

  14. Wow, this might be the best Bears Podcast show out there. Cole Kmet and Adam Hoge, then they bring in DJ Moore. Awesome info.

  15. Started by adam,

So after the 2nd preseason game, it looks like the 53-man roster is going to come down to 5-6 battles at the bottom of the roster depending on how the team views certain positions and ST value. This is my thought so far on the locks: Offense QB (2) - Williams, Bagent RB (4) - Swift, Herbert, Johnson, Homer WR (5) - Moore, Allen, Odunze, Scott, Jones Jr. TE (3) - Kmet, Everett, Lewis OL (9) - Jones, Jenkins, Wright, Bates, Shelton, Davis, Pryor, Amegadjie, Carter Defense DL (7) - Sweat, Billings, Dexter, Walker, Pickens, Booker, Hardy LB (4) - Edmunds, Edwards, Sanborn, Sewell CB (6) - Johnson, Gordon, Stevenson, Smith, Blackwell, Stroman …

This guy does a decent job breaking down Booker from the HOF game. It's almost like they are wanting Booker to practice the QB moving up in the pocket as if Sweat will force that response. Tell me what you see.

  19. We might get to see Caleb for a series or two in this one. Another decent opponent in the Bills, and an away game.
