It's Sunday.... two days before FA signings start. There is absolutely no way the always exceedingly-prepared and mission-focused Phil Emery has not renegotiated some contracts. I'm not expecting any comments but had to put this in writing. If I'm wrong I'll eat a Road Runner (instead of crow because we do have them running around out here).

The Chicago Bears will bring back Brian Urlacher at a cheap price. Mark J. Rebilas-USA TODAY Sports Free-Agent Signings: TE Jared Cook, QB Jason Campbell, OG Brandon Moore, DE Israel Idonije, LB Nick Roach, LB Brian Urlacher The Chicago Bears have many of their own free agents to take care of during the free-agency period. It is safe to bet the front office will bring back Jason Campbell and Israel Idonije. As far as linebackers go, the front office and Brian Urlacher continue to communicate (per Lou Canellis on Twitter). He will be back with the team at a cheap price, as will fellow linebacker Nick Roach. While Roach is reportedly blowing up on the market…

For the draftniks out there I thought this might be worth reading. The article breaks down performance trends versus draft position. For example, OTs drafted in slots 1-13 have the highest success rate of being a 5yr starter at 94%, and a bit surprising to me LB is right behind them at 90%. . http://www.nationalfootballpost.com/Diggin...babilities.html

  5. How about grabbing the center from the Saints , but we would have to give up our 2nd round pick. That would give us the option and move Garza back to LG. Brown should be developed by the time Garza quits. Just a thought.

  10. Per Twitter: Mike Garafolo ‏@MikeGarafolo 50 mins It's been relatively quiet on the Long front. Bears and Rams believed to be among the most interested. We'll see. The Trib says the Bears are also looking at Bushrod and Cook and might have to choose between the two. I say if the Bears can get out of FA with either Long or Bushrod, I'd consider it a success. I'd even pay a little more for Long, all things being equal. I don't love Cook, and think it might be more prudent to sign a second-tier potential starter at TE (I've always liked Delanie Walker) and spend the extra $ at LT and look at TE and OG in the first round of the draft.

Rant Sports.com This a website I came across and this was its Bears mock draft done two hours ago. 1-Tyler Eifert/TE 2-Dallas Thomas/OG-T 4-Joe Bostic/LB 5-Nico Johnson/LB 6-Brandon MaGee/CB I think the possibility exists the top 6 OL prospects will be gone. So Tyler is a good alternative choice. Thomas can play a couple of positions and think he could find a spot on our line. I like Bostic a lot and Johnson could be a sleeper pick.

Last night on twitter greg cossell talked about 2 WRs that he likes according to what he sees on tape. Both have mid to late rd selection type grades currently Aaron Mellette, Elon - greg likes him for his size, great hands plus athleticism at 6'2" 217 lbs. Also has deceptive movement for a big. Check out his stats and they blow u away. I would love to look at this guy in the 4th Conner Vernon- Duke-- very good route runner w/ understanding of how to use vertical stem to breakdown cushion and separate. 1 concern is that he's a bit of a 1 speed receiver w/o much burst. But very good hands and great feel for subletives of route running. He's 6'0 196 lbs and …

I use to bowl in a league once. We had a lot of friends come by and drank. The SERIOUS bowlers asked us to leave the league because we didnt take it serious enough. The point is I try to have fun in almost everything I do. I make comments that are meaningful and sometimes someone will say something that annoys me. So I jack with them. I add serious content to this blog all the time, and sometimes make stupid statements. When I do that I get called on the carpet and have no problem with that. There are a lot of informed people on here and enjoy all that it brings. Everybody on here cat calls other posts and that is part of the fun of this thread. The only problem I have …

If all of the top 6 OL players are gone at our 20th spot, who do we take? the top 4 OTs, and 2 top OGs I would suspect we draft our next need. Eifert/TE or maybe Austin/WR. If that happens I would like to see us move down in the draft to get extra picks. I still think AZ is a likely trade candidate. A lot of mock drafts have them taking a QB in the first round, but dont think any of the prospects merit that high of a pick. Which would give us a 39th our 50th and a 3rd round 69. (Warford/OG,Wheaton/WR and Kelce/TE would be my choices. The possibility of BPA would come into play. With the 6 OLs going ahead of us, someone real good would drop to us…

http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/footb...0,7373064.story I noted earlier in the off season that he is working out with Marshall, Jeffery, and Rodriguez so they're keeping the clique together so to speak lol. Gonna make 480k

  16. I am not sure who they were looking at but suspect it was a OLB Jamie Collins 6'4 250 4.64 40 guy. A 4th or 5th type of pick.

  20. Read this and I'm wondering if Hester is about to sign a modest contract extension, one that will pay him to simply focus on being a KR/PR? ----------------------------------------------------------- http://espn.go.com/blog/chicago/bears When we last heard from Chicago Bears returner/receiver Devin Hester, he had backed off his threat to retire but was still suggesting he might benefit from a fresh start with another franchise. Tuesday, Hester used a post on his Instagram account to imply he has had a change of heart. Hester The post read: "For all my Bears fan #yes. I'm a bear 4 life.# Beardown!!!!! ----------------------------------------------…
