I just thought it was funny that majority of the voters believe that grossman will take an edge after Saturdays game. Orton completed 70% of his passes for 56 yards and rex completed 50% of his passes for 44 yards. The td was more of wolfes ability than rexs performance. Also how many of rexs plays came against the KC defensive starters. We will see who pulls ahead now that rex will be playing some defensive starters. I thought Kyle did a good job, and will not be surprised if Kyle does pretty good coming of the bench.

Article about the wrap up session in training camp I would have loved to have seen this: KJ must have hit Okwo like a Mack Truck to knock his mouthpiece out. I liked what I saw in Forte last week and like what I am hearing about KJ. Could be a dynamite duo!

LAKE FOREST, Ill. – The Bears on Sunday waived wide receivers Marcus Monk and Ryan Grice-Mullen, cornerback Leslie Majors and safety Josh Gattis. Monk, the last of 12 players the Bears selected in the 2008 NFL Draft, was a seventh-round pick (248th overall) from Arkansas. He caught one pass for 14 yards in two preseason games. Gattis appeared in four games as a rookie with the Bears last season, registering four special teams tackles after being signed to the active roster Oct. 2. Grice-Mullen and Majors both entered the NFL this year as undrafted free agents from Hawaii and Indiana, respectively. The Bears roster now stands at 75, meaning that Chicago…

Okay, many here are ripping the defense, due in large part to their coaching. I am absolutely one myself. While I still think our coaching on the D is poor, here are some reasons why we may be able to get it done regardless. Not all agree Babich or Lovie are a problem as defensive coaches, but regardless, and for those who do, questionable coaching may not be enough to kill this defense. A bit of optimism from a pessimist. This post is dedicated to Crackerdog 1. No, I don't think we have good coaching on the sidelines, but I do think we have a great coach on the field. Mike Brown may honestly be our best defensive coach on the team. He has shown in t…

http://www.profootballtalk.com/category/rumor-mill/ SIX WEEKS FOR SATURDAY, OR LONGER Posted by Mike Florio on August 27, 2008, 7:51 p.m. Colts center Jeff Saturday is expected to miss the first six weeks of the season after partially tearing a knee ligament during Sunday night’s preseason game with the Bills. Per the Indianapolis Star, Saturday will miss even more time if he decides to have surgery to repair the torn MCL. His agent, Ralph Cindrich, told the Star that Saturday will miss six or seven weeks without surgery, and 11 with the procedure. Rookie Steve Justice likely will replace Saturday, who’s entering the final year of his contract

Forte is having a good game. If we contuine to block he will have over 100 yards for the game! Oh by the way Dallas Clark is hurt and not playing!

Noots’ Notes-Game One: 29-13 Win at IndianapolisBy Michael Nudo The Bears shocked the Colts in the home opener at Lucas Oil Stadium. They were led by Matt Forte’s running on offense and an opportunistic defense. If you were wondering, the word Forte means strength (AP Photo). OFFENSE QuarterbackKyle Orton (13-21-150) won’t like being called a game manager, but he truly earned the title in this contest. Orton continually made adjustments at the line to put his team into good plays, especially for some of the Forte runs. Although he threw a few helicopters and ducks, he showed great poise and made a few key plays. Orton didn’t let the crowd become to…

Nice start! Here are two things the Bears need to do to continue this streak. 1.) Find one more O Tackle for depth. There has to be someone available in FA we can pick up now. I'd read teams were waiting to sign veterans until after week 1 was over so they didn't have to gaurantee the entire season of salary. Hopefully there's someone out there who might be excited about the fact that the Bears look better than expected and will choose them over someone else, if all else is equal. 2.) The Bears need to game plan for 8 in the box next week. Fox isn't dumb. The Bears running game this week was impressive but 150 yards in the air isn't going to scare …

Based upon what some said, it looks like many here were down on the Bears. http://www.talkbears.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=2839 6-10s, 5-11s, and things like that. What's everyone thinking now that the Bears took the Colts to the woodshed? I don't see why a 10 or 11 win season is unreasonable.

We are finally using Rashied. After all those times last week when we showed a possible end run we finally do run the end around and it works. The play calling is completely different from last year. Are we sure we still have the same coaches.

What the hell they thinking? I totaly believe the coaches lost this game, Cant even make one yard when Forte had about 100? WTF they thinking.

Matt Forte is a stud. I loved this guy coming out and he reminds me of Brian Westbrook- he can catch it and run it, and he could have 3 TDs so far rushing. This guy is going to be our back for a long time now, barring injuries. Thoughts?

  19. The older I get the less I agree with being a sports traditionalist. I want exciting and cutting edge and more respect for what we can do offensively! Yes, I did love the way we pounded the rock in week one against Indy but we were able to dictate the pace and control the line of scrimmage. Week 2 has shown that right now if we do not control the line of scrimamge for 60 minutes we can not adjust to compete in a shoot out ala teams like the Broncos, Dallas, Philly, and Greenbay! In Baseball I think both leagues should have a DH casue I can't stand watching the pitcher bat. Pitching and def are very important in baseball as is running the ball and keeping the oppone…

Now that McGowan is out for the year what do we do...promote someone from the practice squad to take his place on the 53 man roster or sign someone off the FA wire. What do you think we should do. IMHO we should promote Bowman the CB since he made the 53 man roster in the first place. But do we need a back up at safety or are we happy with Brown,Payne Manning and Steltz
