During the interview with Cutler and Marshall, Jay mentioned that having Jermemy Bates here installing some of the things they did in Denver was going to be big for him and Brandon since they both are familiar with the system. I can't say I watched too many of Denver's games back when Cutler was there so I don't know exactly what this means for our passing game. Perhaps some of the folks here that are more football savvy can explain what we're likely to see in our passing game this year. Interview link: http://www.chicagobears.com/multimedia/mul...clip=Y&rn=2 I just watched the interview with Emery and he said "people will be surprised how Tice's new …

http://www.chicagobears.com/news/ChalkTalk...p?STORY_ID=8696 With the Bears signing punt and kickoff returner Eric Weems, do you think they will—dare I say it—look to trade Devin Hester? Why else would they add a Pro Bowl return specialist? The Bears didn’t sign Eric Weems because they wanted to push Devin Hester out the door or reduce his role. They’ve always believed in having as many good returners on the roster as possible, and that’s why they made the move. Weems, who was selected to the Pro Bowl in 2010 as a special teams player, also has excelled covering punts and kickoffs. I recently asked general manager Phil Emery about Hester’s role and he said: “…

I have read that Lovie has visited Georgia to see Hill early in the month and now reads he went to see Bruce Irwin/DE/West Virgina. Is there any other players anybody knows we have got to together with.

JA said last year they were happy with the Oline unit as a whole and that it would take time for them to gel as a unit. Everyone else has been calling for an upgrade to he Oline for the last 4 to 5 years. The last decent oline we had was 06 when Thomas Jones and Benson had a good year. Emery takes over and the only big thing that has been done was the Marshal trade. Two things that we know- Williams and Carmi are coming back. This will help the oline unit as a hole. We dont know if Williams is being put back at LT as stated in another thread. My major concern is the LT spot. Webb in my eyes is not good enough to be a starter and should only be a backup in c…

http://blogs.nfl.com/2012/03/19/jets-agree...HP11_hot_topics Good deal, we did not need another Safety that cannot stay healthy, it seems every year all out safeties are a mash unit.

I found it interesting that the latest mock from Walter Football.com has us taking Coples at #19. Before free agency it seemed as if Coples was a lock to land in the top 10. But Cambell suggests it may not be the case. http://walterfootball.com/draft2012charlie_1.php Buffalo could always grab another DE in the first to pair up with Mario Williams, so that is always a possibility. But a team like Miami might have to take a quarterback now with Flynn and Manning both turning them down during the free agency period. It's an interesting proposition we'd have if Coples slips. He had a down year for a senior but his combine was impressive and the measura…

Per Schefter/Mort. Tebow will be traded (or at least they will try and trade him). No deal signed, just that Manning has directed his agent to work out a deal with Denver. There are reports that he will get 20M per year and will be signing a 5 year deal. Pretty crazy amount of dough for a guy coming off 3 neck surgeries.

I keep hearing about him trying LT again. Personally, I think he has the tools to succeed, but hasn't had too much of a shot. Play pro's and con's, coming into his fourth year, he hasn't stayed too healthy. On the plus side, he's smart, has quick feet and pedigree. I want the Carimi to the left talk to stop. He is a prototypical right tackle. Plus, he makes a nasty companion to our nasty RG Louis. Just sayin', give the kid a shot. Make Webb the swing tackle and draft a nasty G and C. One to start, one to groom.

https://twitter.com/#/AdamSchefter/status/181488531305267200 Has a team had a worse offseason than Miami has so far? You lose out on Peyton Manning, trade your best WR for 2x 3rd rounders, and now miss out on Matt Flynn.

If we dont sign anyone else but some backup roster spots, what is your draft (the first five spots) Mine is; We still need a LT, DE, CB,WR (so to make the best impact as we are constructed right now)(Walters mock draft for the topic) #1 Adams/LT/OSU He is the highest rated player on the board in our area of needs. #2 McClellin/DE/BS He was a DE in college, but most see him as an OLB, I think he stays at DE and can rush the QB #3 Joe Adams/WR/ARK He is a speed guy at 5'11" 190, can be a deep threat(Marshall as PWR)(Knox will be done and takes his spot on roster) #4 Judie/CB/ Tex AM The best of the corners left at this po…

I think we can say that the Bears have a game plan, and what they have did so far is clear. A #1 WR and they have Marshall. In the last 5 years they is only one WR that has more catches, Welker. Fix the backup QB spot, they now have 2 that could give us good minutes. Resign who they wanted back from our own. Ildonije, Stelz, McCown, Davis, Bell, Jennings.(I think they still may sign Okoye. They chased Mincey and didnt get him, so that tells me DE will probably be our # 1 round pick. They wont be going after Wimbley.( to much money) That they are satisfied with the Oline, but are trying for Herrera, and a 2nd or 3rd round pick at OT. They resig…

i don't get it. this should be one of the most important free agents on the market for the bears since gaithers was signed by the chargers. it would make this team more than just a little better. also the center, chris myers, for the texans is out there along with wells from the packers. picking up a good stop-gap center would hold us over until we can draft his replacement and free up garza to compete for the guard position. these can't be cap breaking contracts from any of these guys so why are we dragging our feet?
