Sounds like he will be released in St. Louis. I think he'd be a real nice signing for our back-up QB spot (with Hanie as our 3rd stringer). Basically if Cutler went down and we were in contention, you go to Bulger, if Cutler went down and we are out of contention, you go to Hanie.

I had seen some of Roger’s films, once I knew that I was going to be interviewed [by Corman], I thought “Well I better check out some stuff.” I was impressed by what he was able to pull out from the core of zip and make something of substance. And I met him for a film that was untitled. I showed up looking really bizarre. I had a pair of glasses on that Brian Jones had given me, and they were kind of octagonal, but there was a mirror on the …

Sorry for the non-bears post, but crap. Snow is fun. We got a freaking foot of snow in the last 24 hours, and my kids are having more fun that I can explain. I am not sure I have ever seen more than about an inch of accumulated snow in Dallas, but we got 12 inches! I have to go back 30 years to when I was in Chicago to remember similar. And the best part. Tomorrow is supposed to be upper 50s, maybe 60, and sunny. Yea, that's right. We get a great snow day, and two days later can go golfing.

According the the article on the Trib's website: http://www.chicagobreakingsports.com/2010/...l-director.html, it appears that Bobby DePaul who was the Pro Personnel Director has been sent packing. It appears that DePaul and Angelo had a decent relationship however, the relationship between DePaul and Smith was not the best. It appears that DePaul was instrumental in obtaining Jay Cutler and other notables as John Tait and Thomas Jones. So it appears that all the decisions are going to remain with two people to hopefully turn this team around in 2010. I would not hold faith that Angelo and Smith will make the right decisions to right this increasingly sinking ship. I…

I personally see the Bears signing two starters on defense, both with the potential to be high impact guys. I'm thinking safety and De are the positions they target and the team will get one of Kapman/Peppers. On the offensive side of the ball, I see the Bears doing very little (Cutler and our young wide-outs should all get better), but they will sign an above average back-up running back who could start (ie, LT/Vikes Backup/Jamaal Lewis, etc). To me I'd be really happy if we did that.

The list starts with Terrence Metcalf, Lance Briggs and Bernard Berrian from 2002 to 2004. At that point not bad hitting on 2 out of 3 with 1 All Pro and a decent play making WR. After no 3rd rounder in 2005 the picks get shaky at best. From 2006 to 2009 JA has picked 7 players in the 3rd round with Earl Bennett and Marcus Harrison being the most productive out of the bunch. Thats not up to par with how he did in the beginning. So when we try to predict what he will do, I wouldn't be surprised if some way the Bears acquired an additional 3rd rounder which has been his trend recently. I'm not quite sure how the compensatory picks are given out but, Wale's impending free ag…

Bears | Holt says he would be good fit for offense Comment (0) Sat, 13 Feb 2010 06:46:12 -0800 Updating a previous item, ESPNChicago.com reports free-agent WR Torry Holt (Jaguars) said during a radio interview Friday, Feb. 12, that he would be a good fit for the Chicago Bears offense due to his relationship with new offensive coordinator Mike Martz. "I think I could fit in really well with that ballclub and add a really good veteran presence," Holt said. "In (Martz's) system you've got to be able to run," Holt aded. "That's one of the things I would tell those guys, you better be able to run, and you better be cerebral to learn, and you better have thick ski…

The Packers are expected to make Kampman an offer.

I'm gonna follow in a WR diva's footsteps and prop myself for having over 5,000 posts! I apologize to everyone who's sick of reading my stuff! But, too bad, there's still more to come! ...and seriously, thanks everyone for putting up with me all these years! Hopefully, there's some nuggets of good stuff amidst my drivel!

OK. A good number here have gone back and forth on whether the Bears should entertain bringing in a veteran WR, like Boldin or Holt, with those opposed seemingly and in concert saying that the current staff (of WR's) is fine and not to mess with it. Further those in support of that "argument" state that bringing in a veteran player like the above mentioned would also hamper those currently on the staff from getting in the game and being noticed. One thing that a lot of folks agree with, for or against, is that Turner was unable to test the talent around him as he didn't have a creative bone in his body. So, now that Martz is in the fold and seeing another post say tha…

Jets officially hire Mark Carrier Posted by Mike Florio on February 12, 2010 5:55 PM ET During his career, Mark Carrier was a hard-hitting safety whose penchant for kill shots ultimately got him suspended. He has since gotten into coaching, and he'll now join one of the toughest defensive units in the land. The Jets have announced that Carrier has been hired to coach the team's defensive line. The impending move was first reported last week by the Baltimore Sun. Carrier spent the past four seasons as the secondary coach with the Ravens.

http://www.suntimes.com/sports/football/be...neil09.article# The above article talks about the importance of keeping our D off the field. I have preached this for years and have been met with strong debate. This article doesn't vindicate me by any stretch, but does convey my exact thoughts on the situation and will use that as a sounding board, because there is no way I could have said it better. I posted in another thread that Martz would not provide an advantage needed in Time of Possession (TOP). I'll admit being half wrong about his offense's ability to hold a TOP advantage. With the other half yet to play out, as we will need to see it with Bears player…

  20. Bears | Martz envisions Hester as a dominant slot receiver Comment (0) Tue, 09 Feb 2010 09:00:21 -0800 Brad Biggs, of the Chicago Tribune, reports Chicago Bears offensive coordinator Mike Martz said during a radio interview that he envisions WR Devin Hester as a dominant slot receiver, a shift that could result in him being removed from the starting lineup. However, Martz could utilize plenty of three-wide receiver sets, which would provide Hester with ample opportunity to start. "Devin Hester in that role could just be stupid good, if that makes sense to you," Martz said. "What we can do with him inside, the matchups we can get with him on third corners, saf…
