  1. The obvious move is to let Getsy go. But the fact that no news has been announced yet gives me a smidget of hope that they believe they can reel Harbaugh in. Once we here that Getsy has been let go, it's safe to say that Flus returns for 2024 and some other lucky franchise has hired Jim Harbaugh. Bears will be Bears.
  2. Well said. The Bears will likely draft a defensive playmaker with that 3rd pick in the first round and use their 2nd round draft pick on the QB position.
  3. Interesting question. If Jimmy Garoppolo is available, do the Bears trade for him? What would he cost? I would prefer him over any of QBs coming out of this years draft. Granted he does only have one year remaining on his rookie contract, would a high 3rd round pick be enough to get him?
  4. Merry Christmas!! Its all about 2016 now. Hopefully they can sneak in the top 7 or 8 in the draft.
  5. Pace brought up the importance of having a strong leader at QB as he had in New Orleans with Drew Brees. Colin Kaepernick is no where near the type of QB that Brees is. Not by a long shot! Its kind of funny how he has yet to mention any sort of commitment to Jay Cutler. I'm starting to believe they may either be cutting him or trading him soon. If not, it can be one of those Chicago White Sox situations where they wait a year to let the big contracts thin out a bit before they can trade or cut him AFTER the season. (Adam Dunn and Alex Rios contracts). Regardless if its this March or next March, Cutler's time here is dwindling down. It goes to show that signing average to below average players to max talent contracts is a ridiculous move that can hurt a franchise for a very long time.
  6. I cant remember the last time I was this happy about the Bears?? Last season was the worst in my life time. Let us all trust the new Pace - Fox connection. They have a plan. We shall trust the plan!
  7. This was an excellent hire. Finally, the organization isn't trying to hire outside the box. Pace and Fox should be a nice fit. We should know that next year will be a program building year. I expect year 2 (2016) to be the year in which we can start talking playoffs. Hopefully by year 3, we can start discussing SB.
  8. I'm assuming John Fox will be announced as the new head coach by noon today. I think he went home, made some calls to locate his OC and DC as all assistants will be in high demand soon. Del Rio will likely try to bring Gase over to Oakland as well. They may simply be fighting for his services at this point.
  9. Del Rio likely heading to Oakland Gase rumored to be favorite in San Fran. Quinn is rumored to be favorite in Atlanta Ryan already accepted the Buffalo job. Bowles accepted the Jets job. ???? nothing yet coming out of Denver, but rumor has it, they REALLY like Quinn. Everyone in the Chicagoland area is assuming the Bears will hire John Fox.... If something goes wrong here, i can see the Bears making one more push for Quinn. Stay tuned...this is ever changing!
  10. Its definitley an awesome organization. They are the type of organization the Bears should be... The Bears have a loooooong way to go.
  11. The way Kubiak executed such a tremendous game plan against both Pittsburgh and New England really impressed me. I would be more than okay with this hire. If they hire him, its not to cater to Cutler, its simply because he is the best guy out there for this team. Lets face it, we are stuck with Jay for one more season so we just need to suck it up. If for some odd reason, Jay excels under Kubiaks system, then the Bears benefit because they can then keep him on board OR trade him next off-season as his value would have increased. The reality of the situation is that the Bears have so many holes, talent wise on the defensive side of the ball that they would be lucky to reach 8 wins next year. We need to think long term and I do believe that Kubiak can be great long term as he can successfully groom a rookie QB into the NFL in 2016 (assuming Jay leaves). If Kubiak gets hired, one name to look for in regards to being the DC is Seattle Seahawks Linebacker Coach- Ray Norton Jr. He has worked with Pete Carroll since 2010- so he knows the Legion of Boom defensive mentality. He also has previous played on the 49ers when Kubiak was the QB coach for Steve Young back in the 90's. Stay tuned... we may have a new HC in a few days!
  12. After doing some research, I am not as displeased on the thought of bringing in Ballard as I was. Aside from his former Bear relationships with both Angelo and Emery, Ballard seems to know his football and his scouting background is pretty impressive. This team needs to build a new foundation of talented youth. The ONLY way to do this is to have two to three straight NFL drafts of acquiring 4 to 5 solid NFL players. If Ballard can identify these players in the draft, he is the guy we need to run this team. Let the rebuild begin....
  13. After Monday's press conference, I just cannot see the Bears coming out and announcing the hire of 'new' president Bill Polian. Its the right move. Its the most logical move. Therefor the Bears won't make it.
  14. I think its safe to say that these 4 players will be gone.
  15. According to TheScore, Ted Phillips will only handle the business side of things from this point forward. The Bears intend to hire a true president to run the show. Let the Holmgren rumors begin to swirl.
