I am trying to do my homework on GM candidates since I have today off. Record since Ross has been involved the drafts 2014- 6-10 2013 7-9 2012 9-7 2011 9-7 won SB 2010 10-6 2009 8-8 2008 12-4 lost division title It the last 4 years of drafts only 2 players arent in the league anymore 19% are primary starters 40% are primary backups Notable picks: Beckhum-WR Richburg-OC Pugh- OT Randle----WR Wilson-----RB Amukamara-CB Pierre Paul-DE Joesph- DT Nicks-------WR Brown------RB Beatty-----OT Until I compare with other GM candidates, not sure it stands up, but to compare to ours…

Not that he's probably in consideration but seeing Jim Mora (the younger one - currently UCLA HC) mentioned as a HC possibility for other teams. In keeping with the thought of second (or in his case third) chances, similar to Belichick or Carroll he could make a case for a decent comeback. Would he be someone the Bears should consider? He has clout, experience and a little edge. Although my #1 choice continues to be Shannahan. Then maybe Kubiak.

  3. with no GM in place: a good or bad choice, i don't know. here ya go... "Report: Bears Have No Interest In Rex Ryan Former Jets coach Rex Ryan is not among one of the coaches the Bears are interested in interviewing, per a report from ProFootballTalk.com." http://chicago.cbslocal.com/2015/01/03/rep...st-in-rex-ryan/ we would consider quinn a DC who has never been a HC and no offensive anything experience over ryan a defensive minded coach who has been a HC in the NFL. where is the logic in this? go figure.

http://www.49ers.com/team/coaches/Ed-Donat...a9-ed279c6168b8 His BIO is outstanding (for a secondary coached). Cool that he coached my college's football team (which no longer exists) in 1989. Extremely experienced for a DB coach (given his track record as a DC).

  5. Since upgrading to IE 11 the text in the box you type in to post messages has run off the right side of the screen rather than wrapping around to begin a new line on the left of the box. It was very annoying. The solution is simple. If you have this happening go to the menu item TOOLS and select Compatibility View Settings. Click the ADD button to add this site to the list. Problem solved.

  6. Frank Smith is the TE's coach. Anybody ever heard of him? I'm hoping we get some guys with experience under Gase. Jason George is the new strength and conditioning coach.

Anybody know this name? He is a TE on our team. Annen is a ridiculous athlete, running a 4.41 at the school's pro day, also posting 25 bench press reps, a 34 inch vertical and 10 foot broad jump. 6'4" 247 He did 16-182-2 his senior year. Maybe he turns into a beast with some coaching.

Dolphins shopping Wallace. Sounds like it would be too much hassle to trade him but maybe he comes available later as a cut. http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap300000047...-miami-dolphins And Jacoby Jones who adds another dimension as a returner. Of the two I'd much rather see Jones. Better character. http://m.espn.go.com/nfl/story?storyId=123...le.com%2F%22%7D

Ok all the smart people on here, be the GM: you get one expensive contract 10 mil a year (that means Suh is not on your list) you get one 6-7 mil contract 3= 3-4 mil contracts 3= 1-2 mil contracts BE REALISTIC and then do your draft FAs: Randall Cobb 10 mil Orlando Franklin 6 mil Jared Odrick/DE 4 mil Rahim Moore/FS 4 mil Cris Culliver/CB 4 mil …

http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap300000047...agents-for-2015 Tier 1: Difference-makers 1. Ndamukong Suh, DT, Detroit Lions: Outside of quarterbacks and the two unanimous All-Pros (J.J. Watt, Rob Gronkowski), Suh and Odell Beckham are the two unique talents around whom we would most like to build a franchise. A double-team defeater against the run as well as the pass, Suh is on a Hall-of-Fame career path. Suh is likely to hit free agency after the Lions chose not to use the franchise tag on him. 2. Devin McCourty, S, New England Patriots: The converted cornerback is not only one of the NFL's best coverage safeties, but also a respected leader on the Super Bo…

Same age as Forte, can't believe how fast MJD fell off the map. Has 30 more carries than Forte.

  16. Started by adam,

I thought he was a possible stop gap option at ILB, but it seems like the Jets overpaid to retain him. They just used up about $15 million on Marshall and Harris.

Anytime you have needs, tons of names thrown out there by everybody. with McPhee and rookie pool, 14 mil already off the pool 9 that puts us at 18 mil, unless Mcphees contract is structured creatively . I will predict who and why(of course I will be wrong, nature of the beast) Safety- we know the draft is light so we definitely grab one in FA-Searcy/Balt ( young and upside) ILB - we have some players but nobody is a sure thing, we grab one here--Foster/TB (young and upside) CB- this may not be today, all the stupid big contracts will fly today-----Cox/SF DL- this may not be today we have very little in bodies at this position-Adrian Clayborn/T…

George McCaskey met with the the media and explains why he signed off on the deal after first saying no and then McDonald on his own flew in to meet with him and convinced George of his sincerity and he says that there are only 3 players that he as chairman got involved in the personnel matter and that is B Marsh, Sam Hurd and Ray McDonald.

I always find it funny when someone does an analysis like this with no point. To me the numbers are very misleading. 6 players are 30, and 8 our 31-33. Of those 8, 2 are our Kicker and Long Snapper. That leaves 6 players of age concern to me: Allen (gone after this year), Ratliff (only 1 or 2 years left), Rolle (stop gap Safety for 2 years), Montgomery (Centers can play into their mid-30's), Jennings (likely gone after this year), and Cutler (QB age is a non-factor at 31). Our team's average age is 26.1. https://twitter.com/JimmyKempski/status/585038173056569344
