This is a list of the top players left on day 3. There are 30 of the top 50 that would still look good in a Bears uniform. Great Blue North Draft ReportUpdated 2026 Big Board - Great Blue North Draft Report

  2. Worth watching if you haven’t. Some takeaways: The Bears, right or wrong, are much more comfortable with D line than we are. I’m not even sure they went into the draft with it as a priority, though I expect they’ll see the need to add there today to shut people up if nothing else. They also pretty clearly were not really enamored with this DL class, which is probably why they signed so many DTs in FA (as I had been theorizing). Don’t expect there to be a big competition at C unless Jones really blows them away. The plan is clearly to start Bradberry. They see Shemar as DE, not DT. He was mentioned in the group of edges with Montez, Dayo, and Booker. I don’t necessarily …

Good pick. Needed competition at outside CB tour pressure on Tyrique. Not a ton of turnovers but competed as well as anyone against Jeremiah Smith.

  4. Not a guy I’m familiar with, but he was super productive last year, including some good sack numbers, and while I’ve heard questions about his athletic ability he seemed to test pretty well. You probably had one more spot in the LB corps up for grabs so this is fine with me. Sounds like a good special teamer and pretty smart player. I might have preferred Harold Perkins, but I have no beef.

  5. Bears traded their two 7th round picks (239 and 241) to move into the end of the sixth and take this guy. Born in South Africa and grew up playing rugby. Seems like he progressed finally a bit this year. Wonder if he might qualify as an international roster exemption which can sometimes be useful with a late pick you don’t want to lose. Heard the show say he can maybe play inside and outside similar to Dayo and Shemar. Oh, and I’d say he’s a pretty good athlete . . .

The haul: top 15 talent starting safety Starting center Best blocking TE in the draft and a talent who should be long term TE2 WR4 maybe future WR3 with elite speed CB with the talent to fit this scheme and starting CB2 potential LB who should be good depth with starting potential I think he ends up LB4 for us long term Freak DT DT4 floor to DT1 potential We had a good draft and filled a lot of needs with good players. Just not the draft I expected. This team got better. This is easily the best and deepest offensive roster I’ve seen in a very long time. Might end up being the best Bears offense we’ve ever seen this year or next. Defense is finally getting…

I’m sure you can find his comments but his overall grade was a B. His biggest concern was we didn’t get an Edge. A concern we all share.

My hope and theory is the Bears have something in place to address an upgrade at Edge, but it won't come until after June 1st, whether that is with a free agent or thru a trade. That is my only hope, otherwise this feels like a very weak offseason where they side-graded because of the losses at C and S. So the additions of Bradury and Jones are a wash with Dalman. Bryant and Thieneman are an upgrade at Safety, but if the DLine can't stop the run or rush the passer, how effective will the secondary even be? Then on offense, you traded your WR1 in hopes that your other guys will elevate, but ultimately all the other moves were rotational or backup in nature. So technically…

So I wanted to see who was more correct, the consensus on players (big boards) or where teams selected them. I have more work to do with this, but here is a quick snapshot. I looked at 2023 and 2024, just rounds 1-3, and identified the 3 lowest producing players based on their draft slot, the busts. Then I compared that to where the big board had them. In 11 out of 18 the team drafted the player higher than the consensus, making bad picks into busts. The consensus only had 5 players higher than they were drafted that turned out to be busts. So the consensus is over 2x more accurate than the teams own evaluations. Meaning that if all these teams stuck to the big board, th…

Now that the 2026 draft has concluded and knowing the roster and contracts, this is how our 2027 draft could look going off positions more than names/players. DE and DT should be priority, but picking late again could be a problem finding the right scheme fits. The LT projects more as a G in NFL, but having a versatile player who could play LT helps. Not much S depth behind Bryant, Thieneman, and Hicks. I think they address that in FA this year but drafting longer term depth is needed.

Not that it would impact the Bears, but free agents signed now won't impact comp pick formula.

By actions of the Bear's brass, they are going to go with current assets as far as adding to the pass rush. DA, to my understanding, does a lot of stunts and blitz's. As we all know the sacks come from the DTs, LBers, and DBs, and with the added speed, I can see a lot more from the back seven . As much as Dexter was bad against the run he was 9th in sacks as a DT. He was 19th out of 134 in pressures. Grady Jarrett is on his last legs and was hurt most of the year. He appeared to play better towards the end of the year. He had 21 pressures and 3 sacks. If healthy, maybe he can get a few more sacks. Another DT that was bad against the run. K Street had 2 sacks and 6 press…

Looking back at last years defense, I saw some really good pieces and progress. The opposite was also observed. As it was pre-described, the offense came on, slowly, as predicted. The defense didn't get that same grace. DA is known to run a scheme that is trait specific, while BJ's scheme is talent specific. In that grace, we made two intentional signings in Dayo and Grady. They being one half of the starting DL, rarely played together due to injury. Whether training did that is irrelevant, due to case hardening. Case Harding is a manufacturing term used for toughening, due to job specific repetition. We got that last year from 80% of our defense struggling through unity …

Without considering the draft picks, which right now seem to favor the Bears, it seems like every other NFC North team got worse this offseason. GB lost 2 guys on their O-Line, plus Quay Walker, Rashan Gary, and Wicks and Doubs at WR. At some point in the last few years both Doubs and Wicks were anointed as WR1s. GB's big add, Javon Hargrave who was subpar last year in a MIN defense that was really good. They traded for Zaire Franklin, who is a less dynamic Quay Walker. They also lost Malik Willis who was arguably the best QB2 in the NFL. So to me, they will take a step back. They also lost their DC. DET lost Monty, Decker, Glasgow, Reader, and Raymond and only added Cade…

Heard today Zah Fraizer was let go. Apparently whatever jacked him up last year never materialized into a dedication to playing in the NFL. Also they restructured Brabbury's contract getting 1 mil in reduction but gave him 1 more mil in guaranteed money.
