NFL Still Plans To Try To Suspend The Williams Wall Posted by Mike Florio on June 2, 2009, 1:24 p.m. There’s an erroneous Associated Press report regarding Tuesday’s hearing in the case brought by Vikings defensive tackles Kevin and Pat Williams due to the StarCaps suspensions. The AP report initially said that the league’s lawyer told Hennepin County Judge Gary Larson that the NFL “won’t try to enforce its four-game suspension” of the two players. Not true, we’re told. Roster moves: The Bears on Tuesday signed linebacker Darrell McClover and waived/injured guard Tyler Reed (knee) and tight end Fontel Mines (knee). McClover appeared in 22 games over the past three seasons with the Bears, registering 36 special teams tackles and two blocked punts. He recorded 14 stops while playing in the first 10 games last year before sustaining a season-ending hamstring injury. Reed joined the Bears in 2006 as a sixth-round pick and spent the past three seasons on the practice squad. Mines arrived as an undrafted free agent in 2007 and spent most of his two seasons with the Bears on the practice squad
