  1. Because the people on this site decided they didn't want a separate NFL section, and I'm abiding by that vote.
  2. Ok guys, we gave a warning in another thread, now I'm giving it here. Personal attacks = no no's. Keep it cool please. The fact that we're having to say this 2x today in 2 different threads to different sets of people is frankly fairly troublesome. If you guys don't want us to have to police the site, then don't give us reasons why we need to. This is not directed solely at the poster I'm replying to, FWIW.
  3. I don't think it's as bad as this poster, but frankly, this is a major negative mark on Angelo's draft record and cannot possibly be construed any other way now. The classes of 07 and 08 better show up solid this year, for his sake.
  4. Benson placed on waivers, new thread opened, this one closes.
  5. A link, in case you wanted one.
  6. Forte and Wolfe better be ready to step up.
  7. Tank technically wasn't DUI on his last deal with the Bears, he only wound up at .072...but the Bears released him anyway and it was the right call, most likely because the Bears told him they wanted "NO more problems" or something like that. If they told Benson they didn't want to hear about him being pulled over in the middle of the night after the last encounter, and he gets pulled over in the middle of the night...regardless of whether or not he did anything wrong, the team could pull the plug for him having refused to listen to them and for putting himself in a position where they didn't want him to be.
  8. Yes, if you're innocent, it's usually a good idea to refuse it and demand the more accurate test. If the blood test was done, I'll say temporarily withhold judgement on this one...until the results come back. If he's anywhere near the legal limit (i.e. where Tank was) then regardless of the cap hit let the Cowboys take him. If he's down around .04 or something really low, then I'll buy his story.
  9. Linkity. Seems like a few of the higher ones are signing early this season compared to the last couple years.
  10. If the Bears hadn't drafted Forte, I might have been. But now there's way too many people at the RB spot to even consider a tryout.
  11. I actually kind of like Pix's thinking on this one...given that its entirely possible the Bears will wind up wading through 3 QB's this season, but here's my one problem...the Bears are already trying to fix more than a couple positions by "Throwing depth at it". Specifically, think about WR, RB...they're looking at what, 6, 7 WR's? They're looking at carrying 4 RB's even though one will be shunted more to special teams? On top of that, the Bears had as many draft picks as any other team out there, right? Even with the ol' IR trick there's only so many people that a team can hang on to. If the NFL didn't have the low number of roster spots that it has, then this would be a logical move for both sides. Might give Simms a legit chance to come in and back someone up, and the Bears cna't have too much QB depth honestly.
  12. When you consider all the facts, including the marketing, the fact that the Bulls will have whoever they draft for minimal cost/cap hit for 5 years or more, that the Bulls would have to add in an extra player or two in order to make the contracts work to take on another player, there's probably only 5 or so guys in the NBA that I might be willing to trade the pick for. Lebron, Kobe, CP3, I'd throw in Wade although some people don't like his injury history, Some others have said Howard, but that's about the extent of my list.
  13. If Mike Brown, Brian Urlacher, and Tommy Harris stay healthy, the Bears will win the division.
  14. Option that isn't listed. Probably hold out for part of training camp and show up for the last part, a-la Strahan, Samuel last year.
  15. Ex Pats lineman says Patriots also broke the rules regarding practicing with players on IR.
  16. He will be, eventually. But it's a capped league, for now. Makes sense to play a little hardball on both sides. The team won't let cap room go unused though. They've proven that repeatedly.
  17. But yeah, usually...if something helps your side, like video that would be seen widely by a jury pool, you tend to want it out there.
  18. Miami's Jay Williams doesn't strike me as dominant. The Lakers didnt' have dominant PG's in the Kobe/Shaq years. Tony Parker really wasn't a dominant PG yet in 2003 for the Spurs either. (Anyway, yes, Rose is my pick also). Anyway...just to note, we have a whole message board devoted to the Bulls! Please visit!
  19. Think someone mentionned Barber here in a thread a couple days ago as an option. He won't be htiting the market any more.
  20. In terms of setting the market for draft picks...well, this adds one more reason why the Bears don't want the #3 pick next year. It might well cost more than the #1 pick.
  21. Yeah, and that Kick Returner position on the Bears has proven moderately useful as well. Anyway, you get the point.
  22. The Bears have spent a pick in rounds 1, 2, and 3 on RB's over the last 4 drafts, including a top 4 pick. Between the cap space, time, and draft picks invested in those guys, no matter how good Barber may be, I find it difficult to justify pumping even more money in to that slot when RB is only 1 of 22 positions on the field.
  23. Lovie Smith said last Thursday I think that the starting job was Benson's to lose.
