  1. Well, the Bears were all around outplayed today. I'd say if anything though, the game was won and lost by the fact that Indy's O-Line MASSIVELY outplayed the Bears D-Line for the whole game. The Bears couldn't even smell Manning. Great season by the Bears...now it's time to realize how close you got, how much you were missing in this game, get your asses out there, and practice like freaking crazy for the next few months. Especially Grossman and his offense.
  2. I think somehow, for the power to work, you need to insert that image into the Angels' "Rally Monkey" image. And no, I don't want to see how you do it. Aside from the Fumbles, Rex hasn't been all that bad, the Bears players just haven't been able to do anything once they get the ball in their hands, except for that Jones run. Yeah, it's time to stretch the field a bit.
  3. "But the thing pissed me off the most. . . . . .the whole week, not once did the guy ever once play freakin "Batdance."" -Kevin Smith
  4. The Bears offense needs to do something. Just make a freaking play. Stop dropping the damn ball!
  5. Then the Bears come out, resign Briggs, have another good draft, get Harris and maybe Brown back healthy, along with that other draft pick who got hurt in camp last year, go out with a more experienced Grossman, a more experienced receiving crew, a Devin Hester who hopefully spends the offseason learning how to not fumble, come out, and beat the freaking crap out of the rest of the NFC once again next season.
  6. Think about the teams the Colts have played in the playoffs, they went up against in succession Larry Johnson and Jamal Lewis, 2 of those big, downhill running type backs, and they kept both of them in check. But if you go back to the season, the guys that the Colts had the most trouble with were guys who took advantage of the fact the Colts like to overpursue; the guys with a little bit more quickness who make that last cutback. Think the Maurice Jones-Drew kinda runner I guess etc.
  7. Personally, I'm still thinking it'll be more Jones and Moose, because I think they match up better against the Colts' D than Benson and Berrian.
  8. Mini-Bears 27, Colts 20. (Assuming Lovie is Mini as well)
  9. Weather systems like that have a habit of moving mostly to the West. I'd say that storm actually hit mainland 2 Sundays ago.
  10. At least based on recent evidence, the Colts D seemed slightly better against the bigger back (Think LJ, Jamal Lewis) than against quicker, bouncier runners (Think Jones-Drew). I start with Jones, and if he's successful, save Benson for the 2nd half.
  11. One thing that should really, really help the Bears is their 2-back attack, which is the same format that the Jags had against the Colts which worked so effectively. Jones especially could be pretty useful; on a fast, warm field, his cutback ability and evasiveness could just murder the Colts. One other thing to remember; I believe New England ran the ball about 5 times in the 2nd half against the Colts. That's it.
  12. Urlacher did play some Tight End in college (Along with DB, OLB, I believe Kick and Punt Returner, etc.)
  13. The Bears and Colts scored exactly the same number of points during the regular season. I think it's going to be damn hard for the Bears to not wind up with 20+ points on the board Sunday, all things considered. The one thing that the Bears can not afford to do is get into a shootout with Manning where Grossman has to go down the field and get 7 every possession to match Peyton. Anything closer than that, the Bears are right there.
  14. Figured this one deserved its own thread.
  15. The Tampa 2 works great...even against Manning...IF, and I do mean IF, you can get pressure on the QB from your front 4-5 guys. If you run the Tampa 2 but the Colts' offensive line holds together, Manning will pick it apart.
  16. Well, do you remember that play in the Bears/Patriots game earlier this year where Brady scrambled out of the pocket, and totally faked out Urlacher?
  17. Yeah, that's right everyone, just set the Colts up for a letdown. Coming off one of the greatest games...such a great opponent, now the Colts get to face this joke of a team, yeah, that's right, just keep saying that. Someone buy Rex some freaking earplugs, and get him in the video room.
  18. Even if the more "Offense-oriented" team wins, the Colts that is, it will be because their defense stepped up and outplayed the Patriots defense. And there's a chance that could happen; the Pats D is much more banged up than the Colts', and Richard Seymour just went to the sidelines.
  19. Against either the Pats or Colts? The Bears are going to have to stand up in Miami in 2 weeks and earn every single ounce of respect they want, because they're not going to get any before then.
  20. And after 40 years, finally, there is an African American head coach in the Super Bowl. And in 3+ hours, there might be 2.
  21. I told y'all...offense seduces sportwriters, defense wins super bowls.
  22. Ya gotta admit, whichever back is better, the double-back attack has worked wonders for the Bears this season. And the more I see it, the more I think there's no reason at all to have any other setup in the backfield next season. Even if Benson is the back fo the future, Jones gives him more time to learn, grow up, stay healthy, adapt to the league, etc.
