  1. Would anyone here not trade Cutler for Rogers straight up?
  2. The biggest problem with Martz running his ideal system is protection. If he has a solid line performance, then it won't matter whether or not he's calling 75% passes and 25% runs, because Forte will still get his touches and they'll be outside the pocket (which is, arguably where he's more effective anyway). The big issue is that he doesn't have Orlando Pace as his LT here, he has a 7th round draft pick. If the line plays like that Rams line, then his aggressive offense, fast receivers, and big armed QB will destroy people. If the line plays like last year's line, then he has to push the run more.
  3. Dan Pompei, that's who.
  4. It kinda depends on what we're defining as "Best". He's not the best hands receiver, that's Bennett, but at least last year, he was probably the Bears' best downfield receiver. Hester could easily steal that role from him at some point, but he hadn't done so yet. Considering where Knox is in his career, there's still a lot of promise here. Put it this way...if Knox would up being clearly the best receiver on the Bears this year, would anyone be legitimately surprised? It'd take a lot of work from Knox, but it's certainly plausible.
  5. Link. This just needed to be posted somewhere before someone asked if he was available next year. That is all. Thank you.
  6. I hope the appearance of a game thread will work up a wee bit of excitement.
  7. Where do you see Biggs having written anything about Knox being allowed to seek a trade?
  8. Honestly, I'm not quite sure. If Martz was allowed to do everything his gut told him, don't you think the team would be passing downfield 85% of the time?
  9. Are we actually certain that this is the McCaskey's? If so, why are they doing it? It certainly appears that the real grass is more expensive.
  10. Didn't they add Lloyd like a full season after Marshall departed?
  11. Link. Whole thing belongs here, Cutler interview/reading from SI for y'all.
  12. Really, he'd have stayed there despite McDaniels? I don't buy that.
  13. Exactly. The Bears could not convert a 2nd and 1 or a first and goal from the 2 last year. If that's all he does, then he might well add 5+ TD's to the Bears' offense.
  14. Do people legitimately think that this grass gives the Bears an advantage? They run a speed defense.
  15. I'm not sure he's a great back any more...but he addresses a major, major, major need for the Bears.
  16. Does he have a division winning caliber team around him?
  17. If I was out there pushing for Hanie constantly, the whole fanbase was, the press was only interested in Hanie, Cutler got Booed Grossman-style whenever he came out and Hanie didn't...then I'd expect that kind of reaction too. it sure seems like drafting a QB in the first round is undercutting the guy you already have there. That's fair enough, he kept his mouth shut. Now, they won't trade the guy who's there and they won't release him, and the "Heir-apparent" is no where close to ready. Orton's the one being screwed here.
  18. From the games I watched in the 2nd half of the season, the biggest problem by far on the line was Omiyale. I never really noticed Webb, for good or ill, which for his pedigree I thought was a good thing. At least IMO, getting Omiyale out of that line is the biggest upgrade possible.
  19. If you don't get where Orton is coming from on this, then read up on the Tebow situation out there.
