  1. Frazier says Favre may still be an option for Monday. Personally...I think having Peppers hit a 40+ year old man outdoors in 0 degree (Fahrenheit) weather sounds absolutely beautiful.
  2. Current forecast; 0 degrees F, 10 mph sustained winds, 20 mph gusts.

    In that case...they're pretty talented.
  4. In this case they're helped because it's an unsupported roof, since there's no possibility of structural damage.. If there's no damage related to the water on the field, then basically you patch the hole and it reinflates itself.
  5. whether or not that's true, doesn't mean that blitzes didn't happen. The ones that did happen, Brady just beat them.
  6. Why then do I recall seeing CB Blitzes and LB Blitzes happen?
  7. That state currently is sitting on something like a $6 billion budget gap, so state funding really is out of the question. Of course, California's situation isn't exactly better.

Wait, so you're a Jerry Angelo fan now...you're telling me that the Bears have bad coaches but they're overloaded with talent from successful drafts, trades, and FA acquisitions?
  9. That's the issue though...sending extra people didn't get there, not sending extra people didn't get there...at some point, you have to say the players are just getting out-played. There was nothing that could have been done coaching-wise once that game started to change things. It wasn't the scheme that killed the Bears yesterday. It was some combination of preparation and performance.
  10. The problem with blitzing a team like the Pats is that it usually doesn't work. The Blitz can sometimes get to the QB, but even when it does, a good QB like Brady is just sitting there waiting for you to blitz, because it opens up the field for the pass. A couple plays that I recall before they cut away were completions on plays where either the Bears did a serious blitz, i.e. sending Bowman or the LB's, or plays where the LB's hung up on a play-fake. They both turned into solid, easy completions for Brady, because he got the ball out before the pressure could possibly get to him. Maybe if they'd blitzed more, somehow they'd have turned things around, but I seriously doubt it. Brady is an MVP because he wants you to blitz him, and the times I specifically recall the Bears trying, Brady beat them.
  11. At this point, who really cares? Cutler may as well be trying to force things.
  12. The fact that the Bears from 4 hasn't been able to get pressure at all, the fact that the Bears have dropped 2 easy INT's that immediately let to touchdowns, and the fact that the Bears special teams hasn't shown up. Those are all changes from the normal gameplan.
  13. I think another part of the Bears' struggles today comes from the type of team the Pats are. The Pats are really good at the short passing, draw play game, breaking a few tackles and getting a lot of yards after the catch. The Bears have basically been beating good teams by forcing them into the short passing game. The Pats win games in the way that the Bears make other teams lose games.

Usually the Bears special teams plays better than this. The problem with the usual Bears bend but don't break and force turnovers defense is...the Bears have been beating teams by generating pass rush and forcing teams into the short passing game with turnovers or penalties...and that's exactly the game the Patriots want to play. They know they're not going to turn the ball over a lot, they're too good with the hands team, with Brady, and with the run after the catch. The Bears beat teams by forcing them to play like the Patriots. The Patriots are great at winning games by playing like the Patriots.
  15. Sometimes, a bad enough loss breaks your spirits, sometimes a bad enough loss and your team fights back from it and gets angry.
  16. Christ. CBS just did a cut-in on the warmups. You could barely see Cutler from like 10 feet away. This'll be fun.
  17. I'll be really impressed if these 2 teams combine for 40+ in these conditions.
  18. That ballpark F***ing deserved it.
  19. Pretty sure the Union would never allow that.
