We'll never get a 1st round pick for Knox.... We'd be lucky for a 3rd or 2nd is he turns into something truly legit.
-
I have a friend from Dallas that is lamenting losing those 3 guys. He thinks they'll be better fits in Chicago than they were in Dallas. Owens took away from Williams, then some injuries occurred, and some sloppy play on Williams' part...all led to some sub-par results. I'm far from convinced he'll pick up from his 1300 yd season...but I do think the planets could align and he could become the threat we are hoping for. He thinks Barber got the shaft in Dallas...and could be huge for the Bears at the goal line. He also laments losing Hurd as he was a special teams pro. All that bodes at least fairly well for us I think. I respect his opinion as he's a realist about the Cryboys.

I tend to agree. He's not the sycophant that Pompei has turned into...

Thanks for the insight!

But, we'll have a look at the film on it...

starters? Should they start or give it up to the 2nd stringers for this first game?

Thanks for the post. -
Good point...

Not in the least. However, it's a string of incidents that give the national and local press too much room to embelish the haplessness of the Bears that is preceived be far too many.

I also like Knox. I still contend he needs to improve. But, he's young. He needs to be given a chance to improve. I don't want to dump him only see him join the Pats and become a pro bowl WR! He's also a dangerous return man when Hester needs to be spelled.

oops! Thanks for clarifying! How 'bout Garza hitting him upside the head then?

It is a fine line you guys have to tread Pix. I really do commend you and all the admins here for handling those difficult tasks. You guys are very lenient and fair I think. Honestly speaking, anyone that pretty much pulls a Cartman and says "Screw you guys, I'm going home!" is just being silly. This isn't a free speech issue in the least. As a personal student of our Constitution, Ammendments and Bills of Rights, freedom of speech isn't being curtailed. Any poster has the right to buy his own site and start posting away. You need to follow the rules of the owners of this site if you want to be involved. And I mentioned on a different post, it's up to the admins/owners of the site to make sure that their actions aren't so greivous to lose viewership. That is where it becomes tricky. Like any hard decision, you may end up losing one person, but you may retain 3... I hope I'm not one of the 2-3 that's wearing on you! I post a lot...and I can be negative, but I think I always support my arguments and do see positives as well. And I can be convinced of an opposing view with evidence. I know it may not please some folks, but I'd like to think I'm adding something to the conversation... Bottom line, I don't want to lose any posters here. I enjoy all the banter...even TerraTors!

See, if Alaska and I can agree on something, anything is possible! Always good banter my friend!

I just hope they don't trade him yet. Martz may not be here next season. At best, JA, would probably only get us a 7th round pick or a buy one get one free coupon from Dennys for him.

Curses! Breen Gay gets to have it becasue nothing ever goes on there, whereas because Chicago is a real city and more goes on here, we get stuck with a sandbox! -

Goerge put his face and name on it. So, if it's not him, he's more than willing to be the figurehead for it. -

Given the very above-board history of Chicago politics, I'm sure none of this has any bribery or back-door deals involved... -
Sad, but true. The Bears PR team needs to be fired at minimum... Are they hiring?
-
I still blame Smith.
-
Good to hear about Barber. That's the role we're all hoping he'll perform well. Have you seen any of Conte? I really have not read or heard much.

The admins do a great job keeping things in order here. I can't say there are any kids, unless a couple posters do great acting jobs. Anytime there is a troll, they get run out fairly quickly. There's a core group of guys that post regularly, andother group that chime in often enough, another that post once every blue moon, and the rest that just watch the melee. Here's hoping you'll be more regular...

Knox's issues are nothing new. A good lot of us here have been mentioning them for a while. And is anyone really surprised that someone was "given" a position under this staff? Or really any staff for that matter? Heck, what were our options last year? Williams gets a moderate pass due to his history with Martz and that he has shown in previous years. He'll get the benefit of the doubt. But I think if he alligator arms too many, drops too many, etc...he'll find his way onto the bench. If they thought that highly of him, his contract would be longer than a season. He needs to prove himself as well. Martz speak is about as useful as Smith speak. I can't listen to either without grabbing a barf bag. I hadn'theard Knox was snoozing in meetings. and if that's the case, why didn't team leader, Kretuz, hit himupside the head? I hope Knox grows and becomes a good part of this team. But, he definitley needs to improve.

Bilicheck does get credit also for being a mastermind of the Parcells' defenses as well. It helped having won the lottery with Brady, but they had a good D, and a good OL, and great kicker! And they never trounced any opponent in the SB if I remember correctly. They barely won! But, winning is all it takes! And winning breed more winning. The opposite is correct too...just look at the Lions! I totally respected harry Carson...Carl Banks too. They played hard and mean. as a fan of D, I like that. But, Dent still should have gotten in before!
