I like your post Alaska! I didn't think of bringing in Roy as a catalyst for Knox's improvement. You really could be onto something there. Sometimes a guy needs a kick in the ass...maybe annointing Roy is just that? Johnny really has been exemplary in how he's handled everything so far. Kudos to the young man. Hopefully he can step it up.

Ha! Even though I have a model face...I have the charisma of a banana slug, so count me out! ...and I mean a model of Quasimodo!

Keep it up man! I know what you do isn't easy. I would personally loose the rotation image as it gets a bit distracting. How about an endless loop of Wootten crushing Favre? No matter how distracting, it's just so wonderful! But seriously, keep 'em coming!

Variety is the spice of life... Terra wouldn't complain up a storm is he didn't care. I'm guilty of similar quite often.

Very good point rockren.... I think it's a testament to how damn good Url is that he still does so well in this scheme.

I believe there is a serious disconnect on this between coaches and management. I think if it were up to Smith, they'd be playing on turf. Yet, either JA or Teddy or Geo want grass thinking it's an advantage. I THINK OUR PRODUCTION ON THE ROAD WAS ACTUALLY BETTER LAST YEAR. (oops sorry for the caps, I don't feel like re-writing at this late hour...) Does anyone know? It just felt like it.

I generally agree. He could have been had though I think.

I contend it should have been Burress.... He didn't cost the Jets much. In response to the Knox love...I like Johnny. But, let not pretend that he doesn't have his flaws. He was the reason for a good number of turnovers. But given his youth, I think he can turn into a very valuable receiver. I just felt that Jay needed some help since it's been apparent that he didn't get much on the OL.

I totally agree. I see more confidence as well. The whole package is seemingly getting better...

That's Madden video game crazy talk! I'd do it in a heartbeat. But there's no way the Titans would do a straight up trade. We'd have to give up more. I'm not sure I want to do that. And, you guessed it...JA would give up the farm for it and get screwed in the deal!

I am convinced that ownership thinks the crummy field is somehow and advantage to the team. It's the only thing that kaes any sense whatsoever... quote name='BearsFan1974' date='Aug 26 2011, 01:20 AM' post='93663'] http://espn.go.com/chicago/nfl/story/_/id/...sod-time-season I'm not sure how many times we have gotten new sod, but as long as the Chicago Park District owns Soldier Field and allows other non-sporting events to take place there, it's useless as tits on a fish. The field has been in shit condition since they took the astroturf away. Ridliculous amount of money paid for sod. Paying for the synthetic would pay for it self after 2 go arounds with replacing the sod.

I pretty much agree. Everything I've heard about McKinney is that he's a bad apple. I would have taken Boldin though. I think he would have done better with us than w/ Baltiless.

Their silliness doesn't stem from that alone. It's in context. Telling everyone that spots are earned...but that Knox didn't earn it then, and that Roy W was given his job. It would appear the stance worked with Knox, and he looks like he's trying. We'll see what happens to Roy. But, until he loses the job, nothing has been done except for D. Drake getting a little emotional again. Which, I personally, am enjoying his fire.

I think you're right. I get the distinct vibe that the red carpet has been and will be rolled for him up unto about game 3...if he isn't cutting it by then, I suspect he may actually be benched. And i think that voice may come from Cutler. Knox is outperfroming him right now, and it is once again making the powers that be look stupid. Sadly, they are extemely adept as looking bad whether it's their fault or not.

You know that tour bus can be put back in the garage... It just requires him to keep Martz in line and keep holding his players accountable. I don't think Jerry is helping him much either...

It could be that we just were in "evaluation" mode during the game at a certain point. But, I've seen some other teams really look sharp. We are not one of them at the moment. We seem to be in the next tier below from the true contenders. At least right now.

I appreciate the sarcasm! However, I simply fear similar issues we keep having. Annointed starters, shaky WR's, questionable OL, red zone ineptness... I'm not real worried about ST and D. I think those things will pan out as they always do. I also fear Karma in a way. Last year the luck ran our way. We were fairly iunjury free and got match-ups with teams with a lot of injuries. Those things tend to balance out. I fear it may be our turn this season. Me may luck out...but I think something will come back and bite us. It's nice that we were a game away from the SB...but that was then, and this is now. Our schedule is tougher I think (at least on paper), and everyone in our conference of any note got better. To me, benefit of the doubt comes to those who earn it (NE, IND, etc..). I don't feel like this team has earned it yet. I need more consistency. We had a few bad years and then last year's good one...let's see some more good for a few more years and I can be swayed.

You knew I couldn't resist the set-up! You are a worthy counterbalance to my skepticism!

Well said jason. It really sucks that we have had a history of laying eggs on national TV. More fuel to the fire for the national media to crap on us. We honestly make it easy for them. Could there be something to the Honey Bear curse? Please Virginia! Bring e'm back!
-
Sadly, we appear to have the exact same issues as last year.
-
Sadly, you're right. There will be other opportunities we will squander!

It looks like you may be right... It's not looking good.
